Afterwards, Ana stops coming to the library and the semester comes to an end. When school starts again, Jason sees Ana in the library and slowly walks by her to see if she remembers him. As he passes by, another man walks up to her and kisses her. Jason is devastated as his hopes for a relationship crash down around him, and he flees to his usual spot. As he sits there, he is approached by a GIRL who is clearly very nervous. She shyly asks if she can sit with him, and a sympathetic Jason replies yes. When she sits down, Jason is filled with hope that maybe this time he can gain a friend, or something more.
