- Jonathan Frid's career in drama began when he first "offered his soul" to the theater as a young boy at a preparatory school in Ontario, Canada. Following his graduation from McMaster University, he attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA) in the UK and later earned a Master's Degree in Directing from the Yale School of Drama.
He was a leading actor in English and Canadian repertory and went on to work in many of the most celebrated regional theaters in the United States, including the Williamstown Theatre Festival, the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego, and the American Shakespeare Festival under the direction of John Houseman, performing with Katharine Hepburn in "Much Ado About Nothing".
Frid appeared in major roles on-and-off Broadway, in such productions as "Roar Like A Dove", "Murder in the Cathedral" and "Wait Until Dark". However, it was his portrayal of a complex, conflicted vampire on ABC-TV's daytime drama series Dark Shadows (1966) (he also had a cameo role in the motion picture House of Dark Shadows (1970)) which garnered him his greatest fame in the United States. Other film credits included co-starring roles in The Devil's Daughter (1973) (with Shelley Winters) and Seizure (1974) (Oliver Stone's directorial debut).
In 1986, Frid joined the Broadway production of "Arsenic and Old Lace" (co-starring with Jean Stapleton). He won critical acclaim for his villainous turn as the homicidal nephew and spent ten months with the play's national tour. That same year, Frid founded his own production company, "Clunes Associates", to create and tour a series of one-man readers' theater shows across North America. Frid continued to perform his one-man shows, now under the banner of "Charity Associates", to raise money for a variety of charities. Combining the arts of his voice and his zest for entertaining", as one critic put it. In June 2000, he returned to the traditional professional stage in the play "Mass Appeal" at the Stirling Festival Theatre in Stirling, Ontario. - Actor

Marvelously quirky, distinctive and versatile character actor William Franklin Finley was born on September 20, 1940 in New York City. Finley attended Columbia University, where he first met future filmmaker Brian De Palma. The lanky 6'4" Finley first began acting on the New York stage. He made his film debut in De Palma's odd short movie Woton's Wake. Finley went on to play a deliciously rich and colorful array of strikingly idiosyncratic parts for De Palma: a slow-witted stage hand in Murder a la Mod (1968), the disapproving friend of a guy who was about to be married in The Wedding Party (1969), the wicked titular villain in Dionysus in '69 (1970); splendid as Margot Kidder's freaky psychiatrist husband in Sisters (1972); excellent and engaging in a rare substantial lead as the meek and nerdy struggling songwriter Winslow Leach in the delightfully outrageous Phantom of the Paradise (1974), and a seedy psychic in The Fury (1978).
Finley tackled a couple of equally memorable off-center roles in a pair of superior Tobe Hooper fright features: he was Marilyn Burns' deranged husband in Eaten Alive (1976) and a pathetic drunken carnival magician in The Funhouse (1981). Finley was once again fine as a geeky scientist in the exciting Chuck Norris horror/action hybrid Silent Rage (1982). In addition to acting, Finley composed the theme song for Murder a la Mod and co-wrote the script for the offbeat teen coming-of-age comedy The First Time (1983). Finley had a small, yet chilling part as a creepy private investigator in the disappointing The Black Dahlia (2006). William Finley died at age 71 on April 14, 2012; he was survived by his wife Susan and son Dashiell.- Carole trained as a dancer at Elmhurst Ballet School and began her career as a dancer at the London Palladium. She then went into rep at Leatherhead, Coventry and Worthing to concentrate on acting. Her stage appearances include 'Celebration', 'Look Homeward, Angel', 'The Philanthropist' and many productions at the National Theatre. On television, she is best known as the cool secretary in "The Brothers" and for her starring role in in "The "Freewheelers". She has a daughter, Chloe, and a son, Harry.
- Jeanette Eymann was born on December 5,1919 in Pontiac, Illinois, USA. She was the daughter of of Joseph and Nellie Mae Weber Eymann. Joseph worked in 1920 as a farm elevator manager, and in the 1940's her parents managed the Imperial Hotel in Pontiac, Illinois. Joseph was born November 27, 1887 and died October 24, 1955, Nellie Mae was born February 23, 1891 and died December 23, 1994.
Jeanette's first husband, Hollis F. Bridwell, was a musician in the Stan Kenton Band. Hollis was born on September 1, 1916 and died on March 14, 2001. Her second husband, Kenneth E. Barnes, was an engineer in the aircraft industry. He was born on April 30, 1914 and died on January 26, 1990.
While visiting a brother living in Los Angeles in the summer of 1946 Jeanette decided to leave the teaching profession in Illinois after three years teaching high school speech and art and answered a blind newspaper ad. She interviewed for an ad agency which led to her subsequent hiring as the secretary to Hilliard Marks, producer of the Jack Benny Show on radio.
Over the years she became a script writer for both the Benny radio and television programs. When Mary Livingstone, Benny's wife and sister of Hilliard Marks, developed a phobia about reading her radio show lines before a live studio audience, Jeanette read them for her. After the reading before the live audience technicians dubbed in Mary's voice which she had taped in private for the Sunday evening CBS broadcasts. The radio audience never heard Jeanette's voice.
Later when the radio show ceased and the Jack Benny Program became a weekly televised comedy show, Jeanette occasionally was called upon for small parts, i.e., unseen voice on a telephone call, receptionist, doctor's assistant, etc. She became a member of the Screen Actors Guild and is credited with nineteen appearances. When the programs with her appearing became summer reruns she received a $22 residual for each program rebroadcast.

Martin Poll began his film career by co-producing 11 feature films and producing 39 half-hour episodes of the classic Flash Gordon TV series in Germany and France for international release in a two-year period. In the United States, Poll acquired and reopened the historic Biograph Studio in New York, which had been closed for 20 years. He renamed it Gold Medal Studios and it was the largest studio in the United States outside of Hollywood. At Gold Medal, he presided over such productions as Elia Kazan's A Face In The Crowd, Paddy Chayefsky's The Middle Of The Night starring Kim Novak and Frederic March, as well as The Goddess starring Kim Stanley and Lloyd Bridges, Butterfield 8 starring Elizabeth Taylor and Laurence Harvey and The Fugitive Kind starring Marlon Brando, Anna Magnani and Joanne Woodward.
During this time, Poll brought about a renaissance of filmmaking in New York. Location Shooting then was very complicated and clearance took many days as the police department, fire department, sanitation department, etc. had to sign off on each location. He pressured the city and he was made Honorary Film Commissioner to facilitate the location problem. Eventually the Mayor set up a Film Commission.
In 1968, he produced The Lion in Winter (1968), starring Katharine Hepburn and Peter O'Toole, which received nine Academy Award nominations and won three. It also won the Golden Globe Award for Best Picture, the New York Film Critics Award for Best Picture, two British Academy Awards and the David di Donatello Award in Italy for Best Picture.- Director

Roderick Lawson Schmidt was a epigrapher, anthropologist, hang-glider pilot, motorcycle racer, surfer, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend was a longtime resident of Lone Pine, California.
He was born December 12, 1945 in 'Montclair, New Jersey', and came with his family to California Whittier in September 1951 when he was only 5 years old. Raised in Whittier, he attended St. Mary's grade school, Pioneer High School, and then Fullerton Junior College. He became a proficient surfer, and his spent a tour of duty in the U.S. Army. It was while he was stationed in Germany that his wife gave birth to his eldest daughter.
Returning to the States after his service, Rod took up motorcycle racing, attended Rio Hondo Junior College, and fathered his second daughter. Always loving a challenge, he then began hang-gliding. He often told stories of the many times he soared over Mt Whitney.
He took interest in the pre-Columbian epigraphs (or rock carvings), at the INY-272 archaeological site near Lone Pine in Inyo County, California, and spent the next few decades deciphering them, protecting them, writing about them, and sharing their message.
He received his degree in Anthropology at California State University, San Bernardino in 2008, and returned to Lone Pine and his self-appointed task of protecting Inyo's pre-Columbian heritage. His gift to the ages is the equinox-project.com website and its message. His greatest wish was that people remember and protect the INY-272 site for posterity.
Rod perished April 14, 2012 when his residence on Highway 395 in Lone Pine caught fire. He is survived by his mother, Marie S. Schmidt, his brothers, Robert Paul Schmidt, David Glenn Schmidt, and Michael Q. Schmidt, his sisters Patricia M. Martinez and Diane L. Schmidt, his daughters Lisa Schmidt and Jennifer Schmidt, his grandchildren Alex Schmidt, Melanie Schmidt, and Andrew Barreras, and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Memorial services were held Friday, May 4, 2012 at Lone Pine Park with Rod interred at the Mt. Whitney Cemetery. There was be a "Celebration of Life" picnic on Sunday, June 10, 2012, at 'Carbon Canyon Regional Park, Brea, California'.
