      • Additional Crew
      • Producer
      • Director
      Waking the Dead (2007–2011)
Mark Williams-Thomas is an investigative reporter and former police officer who is best known for posthumously exposing the broadcaster and charity fundraiser Sir Jimmy Savile as one of the UK's most prolific child molesters. His investigation in turn led to a sequence of events which brought to light the historic sex crimes of other broadcasters Stuart Hall and Rolf Harris and publicist Max Clifford, all of whom went on to be convicted and jailed.

As a police officer since 1989, Williams-Thomas was a detective and family liaison officer. He launched the investigation into the child abuse of the music industry figure Jonathan King, leading to his successful conviction and imprisonment in 2001. As something of a renegade, Williams-Thomas would disclose information to the press if he considered such disclosures were in the public interest. If those disclosures happened today, Williams-Thomas would be facing arrest or suspension. Willams-Thomas has made public his resentment of changes brought in which restrict police officers from talking to the media following the Elizabeth Filkin report on Metropolitan police links with journalists.

Williams-Thomas left the police in 2000 and set up his own independent child protection firm, WT Associates. His reputation was immensely enhanced by his independent investigation into the depraved crimes of the late Sir Jimmy Savile, in which he spent six months properly examining the rumours and testimonies which had tragically never been done by the police during the so-called "national treasure"'s lifetime. Williams-Thomas is a frequent guest on British television offering comment and analysis on stories regarding child protection issues and remains a committed crusader who will not rest until every paedophile in Britain has been brought to justice.
