Primal is an amzing series that stands in stark contrast to the many contemporary stories that are overly intent on deconstrucing traditional narratives but this episode was a miss in an otherwise brilliant series.
Seeing the protagonists slaughter brave men, women and children who are aesthetically and culturally more interesting was a strange narrative decision. Spear is entirely sullied by this episode and it damages his character going foward.
There is a righteous vengenace narrative thread signposted at the end and to the episode's credit a father's grief is given honourable treatment but I would be very happy to see Spear's demise now.
