The book is long and Dickens at his comical best. My favourite Dickens book. And this tv adaption is just great! Of course the tv adaption leaves a lot out but is a very good accompaniment to the book. Sad news today is that Tom Wilkinson who played Mr Pecksniff has died at the age of 75. (30/12/23). Pecksniff is one of the main characters in the book and Tom plays him brilliantly. One of my heroes from this book is Mark Tapley. Mark would make a great self help guru with his upbeat positive attitude to life and dedication to keeping jolly under difficult circumstances. It's been awhile since I've read the book or re-watched the series but it's definitely on my re-watch list for 2024. If you love great acting, a great story, a great script with wonderful dialogues you'll love this classic.
