Review of Till

Till (I) (2022)
7/10
The film shows the reality of this unjust world

Warning: Spoilers
I found this film both moving, interesting about trivialized racism in Mississippi but also quite long.. Indeed, this film really makes us see the realities of this unjust world, particularly in the United States where I was surprised that lynching was only banned in 2022.

What is interesting is that this film is based on real events that happened in 1955, that it is not normal that we are judged on our skin color, and that racism causes harm even to the most innocent: 14-year-old Emmet Till was the victim of a lynching by two people of white skin color: justice was slow to be established..

Although the staging and the music that goes well with it are solid and very sophisticated, I think they should have been shortened, too much time was spent on judgment, and as far as the characters are concerned, I think they were very successful!

This story is very touching in part thanks to the gesture of Emmet's mother, Mamie Till, who wanted absolutely that the whole world sees what his son went through and the cause of his death.

In conclusion, this film remains great on the fact that it refers to a real story, accessible I think to sensitive people because it does not show too many shocking images apart from the disfigured face of dead Emmet, I have a lot enjoyed this film and I advise you to watch it but to see it again a second time would not tempt me.
