Chaplin is one of my all-time favourite movie stars.

This is quite bittersweet.

Chaplin a washed-up music hall star saves a young woman from suicide and looks after her.

I learnt from this film that suicide was illegal in the U. K until 1961 and that attempted failed suicide could land you in prison.

So, Chaplin learns that the Woman has aspirations to be a dancer and he starts to help her realise that dream.

Chaplin can play drunk quite well and he speaks very well too.

Some of the choreography is really good.

This film is famous for Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin sharing the same screen.
