Primal: The Red Mist (2022)
Season 2, Episode 4
1/10
This episode ruined an otherwise great show.

I liked Primal, it is unique with its almost non-existant dialogue and managed to captivate me each episode, wanting to know more about Spear & Fang's adventures and their how their relationship develops.

Unfortunately this all went down the drain with "The Red Mist".

From previously (for the most part) trying to excercise caution when fighting, the duo goes on a total rampage in this episode. It's just one big slaughter, and Spear seems to shrug off the ten arrows he was hit with like it was nothing, while Fang was probably hit by 20-30 arrows/throwing spears, yet there are little to no consequences.

In comparison in Season 1 we had a whole episode (Scent of Prey) dedicated to Fang recuperating and healing her wounds after the battle with the ape-men in the arena.

I told my friend jokingly that this episode has to be written by someone else, and I later found out that this was indeed the case. In my opinion this Mark Andrews did an awful job and removed parts of what made Primal unique, and turned the episode into another braindead cartoon about blood and gore.

The only way I'll finish the show after this episode is if I force myself to watch it. Before "The Red Mist" this wasn't an issue and I could barely get enough of "Primal".
