Review of Fall

Fall (I) (2022)
7/10
A big surprise at the near end
3 September 2022
There is no doubt that something may be not so smart, I thought it to be plain, and even thought I'd watched this film at the beginning bcz it was just so like the film 'Verticle Limit'.

I could not stop thinking that at that height even a building with rebar and concret shall sway at such a large amplitude that people can't even stand stable, while the camera was so firm when the two are sitting at the top. That is rediculous, I thought. Iron structure is even more flexible, so I suggest to add some 'wobbles' into the camera, so that it will looks more real.

Also I kept wondering why they are not connecting themselves to the tower when climbing up, what if one of them fall off? That seems to be a little lack of common sense, not to mention that they are supposed to be professional.

And the cloth they are wearing got me annoyed too, anybody having climbed up to a low hill will get the experience about how cold it could be at such a height, and it will be chilling at night expecially in desert. But they seems to be just enjoy the fun! I can image how could it will be with such wind, no shelter, few cloth, no food.

However, what really hit me was when Hunter refuses to take off her shoes. I got shocked with it, a little thriller but reasonable why she was just sitting there watching Becky climbing up to the bulb to charge their drone. I will not include the detail of why here, while that is a very traditional but impressing skill to demonstrate that Becky is strong in mind: she needs help and she created it for herself. She was physically lonely but spiritually wise girl. Just like Tom Hanks creating the Volleyball as a friend in the island, she was not a weak and retreating girl as she was when following up all the way up to the top of the tower, yelling and begging to stop, asking for help and home. She was actually just being cautious and stubborn. I got really refreshed at that moment, and it ensured me that this film worth 7 stars rather than 5.
