It's not perfect. Sure, the film focuses far too much on Phoebe and "podcast". Trevor is ignored, as well as his story arc. Far too many "Deus ex machina" moments.
BUT - and this is a huge one - the movie has its heart in a perfect place. A homage to a friend of everyone involved in the original movie. It plays so nicely, you can't help but end up liking this movie, beyond its faults. It's just such a gentle farewell to Egon, the character, and Harold Ramis, the man. Everyone came back to say goodbye.
Such a lovely trip down memory lane. Thank you for erasing the 2016 reboot. This is the movie we fans deserved since 1984.
