You can usually count on certain things with a Hallmark movie. It will have a certain kind of ending. If it's a Rom/com rather than Movies and Mysteries, it won't have too much surprising. It will be mostly family friendly but perhaps appeal more to mom and dad, especially mom. This movie is exactly what you'd expect.
So what makes some of these movies better than others. The leading actors in the movie are a big factor. For me it's hard to go wrong with Lindy Booth and she did not disappoint. Booth has an infectious joi de vivre. She's fun. It's hard not to have fun with her.
Another big factor for me in a Rom/com is whether the movie makers give the leads time together. If in a 90 minute movie, half the screen time setting the background and dealing with the problems facing the characters, the movie isn't as much fun as if they give all the screen time they can to the love story. I walk away from this movie remember the time spent together by Lindy Booth and Trevor Donovan. They had chemistry.
