Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Showtime (2003)
Season 7, Episode 11

Eye only have eyes...for you
9 August 2010
Warning: Spoilers
Rona arrives; Buffy saves the day (or night, to be more accurate); welcome to Sunnydale.

More Potentials arrive in Sunnydale. The problem is...the ones already there are more than annoying enough already. Why I ever thought that being a fly on the wall at a girl's slumber party would be a good thing is easily debunked after watching the first few minutes of "Showtime". Did the producers go out of their way to find teenage girls with the most annoying sounding voices possible? (Note: That's a rhetorical question.)

Interesting line...

Buffy/The First to Spike: "Dreaming of me again, aren't you? Poor Spike. He still thinks I believe in him. Be realistic. I don't even believe in myself. At least not enough to risk my skin to save your ass".

----------------------------------------------------

FUNNY lines...

(Xander is squatting next to Andrew's chair, untying him.)

Andrew: "Ow! Watch it! That's my joystick hand."

Xander: "I'm not gonna touch that one."

----------------------------------------------------

Willow: "I needed to make sure. Last time I tried using magic, The First—it turned it around on me. Got inside. I felt it just surging through me, every fiber of my being. Pure, undiluted evil. I could taste it."

Kennedy: "How's evil taste"?

Willow: "A little chalky".

-----------------------------------------------------

Torg to Anya: "Don't mock this. The night we spent together was...important to me."

Anya: "It was one date. And it wasn't even a date. We just happened to be invited to the same massacre, and—and you hit on me after I had a few..."

Torg: "I remember, you wore pink."

Anya: "Those were entrails."

(OK..VERY FUNNY line. Anya is clearly a huge part of the Season 7 humor brigade. In fact, she leads the charge almost single-handedly.)

------------------------------------------------------

The more I watch Andrew, the more I'm convinced he's actually Serge, from Beverly Hills Cop. (He's bound to deal the gay movement a considerable blow. Some pun intended.)

Beljoxa's Eye...the eyes have it!

Story Arc Revelation: The reason The First has chosen to ascend at this time is because of an instability in The Slayer structure. Essencially because the Scoobies chose to bring Buffy back, while Faith was still alive, it damaged the basic Slayer hierarchy. At least according to Beljoxa's Eye. Anya concludes: "The world would have been better off if Buffy had just stayed dead".

Buffy defeats the Uber-Vamp in front of the Potentials to boost morale, then rescues Spike.
