7/10
Worth watching.
25 July 2000
Even with its flaws, the film was very entertaining. Charles Dutton's performance by itself made the picture worthwhile. He was perfect for the roll. Julliane Moore was miscast in her role as Cora Duvall. It didn't fit her. Parts of it were corny particularly Chris O'Donnell in his role as a goofy rookie deputy Sheriff which detracted from the film. On the other hand, Glenn Close who is a natural villain, was ideal in her role. All in all, the movie had its good and bad moments, good and bad casting, but the good outweighed the bad enough I would recommend the movie.
