Fantastic Four stars Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as Susan Storm-Richards, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm, and Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm. There is no indication if the Richards’ children, Valeria and Franklin, will appear in the film. The addition of Natasha Lyonne is already sending Fantastic Four fans into a tizzy with theories about who she could play in the film.
WandaVision director Matt Shakman is directing Fantastic Four from a script by Ric Pearson, Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan, and Ian Springer. Plot details are sparse, though we know Julia Garner is playing Shalla-Bal, a version of Silver Surfer from the comics.

Cruella and Richard Jewell star Paul Walter Hauser is one of the most exciting additions to The Fantastic Four, but as we write this, there's still no word on who he's playing.
Mole Man is the most popular suggestion among comic book fans, though it's just as easy to imagine him voicing H.E.R.B.I.E., for example. Marvel's First Family has many allies and enemies on the page so Hauser could ultimately be portraying any number of characters in the upcoming reboot.
Talking to Screen Rant, Hauser broke his silence on joining The Fantastic Four and confirmed he's playing someone from the comics.
"[All] I can say is that I, in some iteration, am in the movie The Fantastic Four until I get fired or recast. So I can't say anything about the character I'm playing, but know that it is in the sort of lexicon and mythology of The Fantastic Four stories,...

It’s official. Galactus is coming to the MCU.
After months of speculation, Marvel officially announced that they’ve found their Galactus. Ralph Ineson, a Game of Thrones veteran known for standout supporting roles in The Witch and The Green Knight, will portray the Devourer of Worlds. Ineson’s casting comes on the heels of other compelling announcements for its upcoming film The Fantastic Four, including Paul Walter Hauser and John Malkovich. Marvel hasn’t yet disclosed which characters those two are playing, but the smart money has Hauser down for the Mole Man. Malkovich could fit a number of characters, including minor baddies Puppet Master or Diablo, including just a grouchy official. Heck, maybe he’ll finally get to play a version of the Vulture, as he was slated to do in Sam Raimi’s abandoned Spider-Man 4!
While any of those baddies would be fun, the Galactus casting deserves the most attention.

Before the official announcement, the cast of ‘The Fantastic Four’ reboot was widely speculated. Recently, it was confirmed that Pedro Pascal would play Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm, aka The Thing.
However, details about the villains and supporting characters were kept secret for a longer time. It was only recently disclosed that Julia Garner would portray MCU’s version of Silver Surfer, Shalla-Bal, with Ralph Ineson taking on the role of Galactus. Additionally, Paul Walter Hauser’s role remains undisclosed, and Deadline reported John Malkovich’s casting in a yet-to-be-revealed character.
We could endlessly ponder who he might portray, given the wealth of characters and villains in The Fantastic Four comics canon. Yet, considering prior rumors and leaks tied to the film, certain roles appear more plausible than others.

The cast of ‘The Fantastic Four’ reboot was pretty much known even before it was confirmed. Several weeks ago we got a confirmation that Pedro Pascal would be playing Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby would be playing Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn would be playing Johnny Storm and Ebon Moss-Bachrach would be portraying Ben Grimm aka The Thing.
The casting of the villains and supporting characters has been kept under wraps much longer, it was only recently confirmed that Julia Garner will be portraying MCU’s version of Silver Surfer, Shalla-Bal, with Ralph Ineson portraying Galactus. Paul Walter Hauser was cast in an undisclosed role and recently, Deadline reported that John Malkovich was likewise cast in a so-far secret role.
Now we can speculate forever on who he could be playing since The Fantastic Four canon is one of the richest in the comics, featuring plenty of supporting characters and notable villains.

The Fantastic Four is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe films in years. With so many iconic heroes and villains in the roster to choose from, there’s so much potential. Now we know John Malkovich will be joining the cast.
Per Deadline, Malkovich has officially joined the cast of Marvel’s upcoming movie about the superpowered team. The Oscar-nominated actor gives us some hope that the much-anticipated MCU flick won’t be another dud.
So, what role will Malkovich play? We know it’s not Galactus. If we’re going strictly by looks, the versatile actor could easily bring the creepy Puppet Master to life.
We know The Fantastic Four will probably stay true to Marvel’s classic version of the family. So, bringing in a villain as whacky as a guy who can control others via puppets isn’t a stretch.

Director Matt Shakman’s Fantastic Four movie adds John Malkovich and Ralph Ineson to its ensemble cast, with Ineson set to play Galactus.
Marvel Studios has announced two more names for its upcoming production of Fantastic Four.
The big news first: Ralph Ineson has joined the cast, and will play none other than Galactus – the mighty eater of worlds who has long been one of the Fantastic Four’s most implacable foes. Galactus did appear in 2007’s Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer but oddly, that film featured him as an angry cloud rather than the towering humanoid form he possesses in the comic books.
We’re guessing that Marvel and Shakman are going to do a ‘proper Galactus’. Although Marvel hasn’t officially confirmed the casting yet (The Hollywood Reporter first broke the news), the thought of Ineson playing the destroyer of worlds is an intriguing one.

Yesterday evening, the news broke that Black Bird and Cruella star Paul Walter Hauser has joined the cast of Marvel Studios' The Fantastic Four.
It's another exciting and impressive addition to the reboot, though there was no word in the trades about who he's playing. The voice of H.E.R.B.I.E. is one possibility, though Mole Man is another suggestion which is being batted about online.
Hauser would be a great choice for a sinister new take on the baddie. Plus, with a story which takes place in the 1960s, using Mole Man as a supporting villain is a, well, fantastic way to pay homage to the team's first comic book appearance.
While he stops short of confirming Hauser has been cast in the role, Jeff Sneider (via The InSneider) is reporting that the current script for The Fantastic Four opens with Marvel's First Family defeating Mole Man.

Marvel’s First Family is finally on its way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with Matt Shakman’s Fantastic Four hitting screens in 2025. From the ashes of Tim Story’s two noughties movies and Josh Trank’s maligned Fantastic Four, here’s hoping it’s third time lucky for Reed Richards, Sue and Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm.
Boasting an all-star cast of Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, the team is up there with the arrival of the X-Men in terms of MCU hype. While recent MCU entries have faltered at the box office, Fantastic Four has the potential to go all the way. The question is, has Shakman learned from the mistakes of the past, or will this be another rinse-and-repeat introduction of the iconic superhero team?
We’re All Doom-ed
Alongside the titular quartet, there are questions about who will be the big bad of Fantastic Four.

Marvel Studios' Valentine's Day gift to its audience this year was finally announcing the long-awaited cast for its "Fantastic Four" movie: Pedro Pascal as Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as the Invisible Woman, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing, and Joseph Quinn as "Human Torch."
The announcement went a step further with a drawn poster depicting the actors' likenesses on the page in a fuzzy style suggesting a 1960s period setting. If only you could see similarly exquisite drawings of the Fantastic Four... oh wait, you can — 60+ years' worth of them in the Four's serialized comic books. That comic series, which debuted in 1961, is the stone on which Marvel's cultural capital was built.
Previous "Fantastic Four" movies have not done a good job of introducing the Fantastic Four to audiences. So, if you're a Marvel Cinematic Universe fan ready to love this new family of heroes, here are some good beginner...

Even as the Marvel Cinematic Universe is in a transition “phase”, there is a still a high demand from actors of all statures to want to join the highest-grossing movie franchise ever. And that includes David Krumholtz – yes, Bernard from The Santa Clause – who went all-in for a shot at playing The Thing in The Fantastic Four…an attempt that he is now “embarrassed” by.
While David Krumholtz has kept a steady career in movies and TV since the early ‘90s, playing The Thing in the MCU would have been a crowning achievement. He even met with director Matt Shakman, but this did not play out as he hoped. )Perhaps we can call this 1 Thing I Hate About You…) Getting into the room stemmed from Krumholtz posting on social media to land the gig. After today's thrilling announcement about the "Fantastic Four" movie finally peeled back the curtain on Marvel Studios' highly-anticipated reboot, only one question remains in the minds of super-fans everywhere: When exactly will this film take place? Previous live-action versions made the choice to set the action in the present day, struggling to various degrees of success in translating the legendary superhero team into more modern trappings. That hasn't always panned out so well, so perhaps Marvel's Kevin Feige would set up this new take on Marvel's first family for success by taking a wholly different approach altogether -- one that hearkens back to the Fantastic Four's comic book origins. The new title treatment and font already hint at a certain throwback tone and sense of aesthetics, but are there any other clues worth paying attention to that might add more fuel onto Johnny Storm's fire?
You bet there are.

The Silver Surfer hasn’t been treated well on the big screen. When 20th Century Fox announced the character would be appearing in their 2007 sequel, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, well, we’d be lying if we said fans were enthusiastic, given the lackluster reaction to the first film. But, people were happy that Doug Jones would be playing the role in motion capture, even if Lawrence Fishburne doing the voice seemed like an odd mismatch. When it came out in the summer of 2007, reviews were slightly more optimistic than they were for this first film, but it was a box-office disappointment. Yet, we think it’s not quite as bad as people remember as we dig into this episode of Marvel Revisited.

Bring on the bad guys! That’s been the battle cry of the Marvel Universe since before it was even called the Marvel Universe. The first few issues of Fantastic Four in the early 60s gave the world some of the best villains of all time, including the Mole Man and Doctor Doom.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe, however, didn’t start out so well. For a long time, the big knock against the MCU was that it had great heroes and lousy villains. Sure, everyone likes Loki, but no one thought Malekith or Red Skull upstaged Thor and Captain America.
Over the years, fans and detractors have added other points to their list of complaints about the MCU. But the “bad bad guys” critique sticks around, even as the universe expands to thirty-two films and nine (official) tv series. But if you take a look at the franchise’s rogues gallery,...
