- George Lee Harris was born on January 15, 1933 in Kittrell, North Carolina, USA. He was an actor, known for CBS Afternoon Playhouse (1978) and To Tell the Truth (1956). He died on January 7, 2011.
- Competed at the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo when judo made its Olympic debut. Harris, an African-American, competed alongside teammates Jim Bregman, who was Jewish, Ben Nighthorse Campbell, a Native American, and Paul Maruyama, a Japanese American.
- Won the US National Judo Championship in 1957 and 1958.
