Welcome to this review of WWE’s Elimination Chamber Pay Per View, right here on Nerdly. In a change to the typical show, this year’s PPV emanated from Perth in Australia… We’ve got a huge card filled with matches that will directly affect this year’s Wrestlemania; so let’s get into it!
Match #1: WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship – The Kabuki Warriors def. Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Competing in her home country, Indi Hartwell needed to calm her nerves in an incredible atmosphere in Perth, Western Australia. Although Damage Ctrl recently ejected Bayley from its ranks, Women’s Tag Team Champions The Kabuki Warriors were primed to go it alone against Hartwell and Candice LeRae, former Nxt Women’s Tag Team Champions. Asuka and Kairi Sane stuck with their apparent game plan of isolating LeRae from Hartwell, drawing the ire from the Australian faithful.

Match #1: Tiffany Stratton def. Liv Morgan The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Seconds after driving Liv Morgan into the SmackDown announce table, Tiffany Stratton disrespected Bianca Belair with a slap as The Est of WWE was watching the match at ringside. The irate Belair climbed up to the apron, only to inadvertently delay the official’s ability to count Morgan’s pin attempt. When Stratton kicked out, Morgan’s momentum caused her to accidentally knock Belair off the apron, allowing Tiffany to roll up Liv for an enormous win prior to her Elimination Chamber Match against Morgan, Belair, Becky Lynch, Naomi and Raquel Rodriguez.

Match #1: Drew McIntyre def. Cody Rhodes The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
With WrestleMania Xl fast approaching, Cody Rhodes is still severely undermanned in his quest to become the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. The American Nightmare took on Drew McIntyre, but after an incredible back-and-forth featuring a pedigree and an incredible Cody Cutter, Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa arrived and cost Rhodes the win, much to the delight of The Scottish Warrior. After the match, while Rhodes tended his wounds in the backstage area, World Heavyweight Champion Seth “Freakin” Rollins once again offered his services, leading to a discussion between the two Superstars.

The 2023 installment of WWE’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view has officially become the highest-grossing arena event in WWE history, the company announced Wednesday.
In addition, the episode of “Friday Night SmackDown” that preceded the July 1 pay-per-view is now the highest-grossing “SmackDown” of all time. Both shows took place at the famed O2 Arena in London and collectively grossed more than $5.4 million, per WWE.
Money in the Bank 2023 also set new records in a number of other areas, including a nine percent jump in sponsorship revenue compared to the record set in 2022. Viewership, meanwhile, was up 17% from last year’s record, while the event generated the highest gross for venue merchandise in WWE history. Match #1: Damian Priest def. Shinsuke Nakamura The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Competing in first match as Mr. Money in the Bank, Damian Priest took on fellow Money in the Bank competitor Shinsuke Nakamura. The action spilled to the outside as Priest dumped Nakamura onto the barricade. Conspicuous by his absence was Finn Bálor as the rest of The Judgment Day were at ringside. Nakamura locked in an armbar to try to submit Priest. As Nakamura went for the Kinshasa, Priest evaded, hitting a gnarly clothesline followed by South of Heaven to lock up his first win as Mr. Money in the Bank.

Twenty-four hours before their respective tag teams will clash in a WrestleMania Showcase Match, Ricochet, Montez Ford, Chad Gable and Erik stepped into the square circle in Fatal 4-Way Match. When bedlam took over, Ford leaped off the top rope and came crashing down onto Gable. But as the impact caused Montez to momentarily recoup, Ricochet seized the moment and picked up the win with the 450 Splash.

The biggest event on the sports entertainment calendar heads to Hollywood, as WrestleMania 39 will emanate live from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Cali. on Saturday and Sunday, April 1-2 starting at 8 p.m. Et exclusively on Peacock. The main event will feature WWE Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns defending his title against the American Nightmare Cody Rhodes. All major WWE titles will be defended at the event, including a match between eras, as WWE United States Champion Austin Theory takes on John Cena in a match that feels eerily reminiscent to Cena’s own era-versus-era matches against The Rock. Match #1: Cody Rhodes def. Ludwig Kaiser The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
One week before The American Nightmare squares off with Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title, Cody Rhodes had his first match on SmackDown in over seven years. Rhodes took it to Ludwig Kaiser before Paul Heyman came down to the ramp to take a closer look. A missed Cody Cutter from Rhodes set the stage for Kaiser to wear down The American Nightmare. A Disaster Kick got Rhodes back into the proceedings just as Solo Sikoa made his way down to the ring. Rhodes essentially had to fight three people, as with Giovanni Vinci caused mayhem at ringside, and Sikoa constantly looked ready to pounce. A Cody...

Match #1: Dominik Mysterio & Rhea Ripley def. Santos Escobar & Zelina Vega The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
When order broke down in the Mixed Tag Team Match and Santos Escobar was taken out of action, Zelina Vega knocked Dominik Mysterio out of the squared circle. Unfortunately, she made the mistake of turning her back on Rhea Ripley, who hit her opponent with Riptide for the victory. After the bell, Dominik began to once more trash talk his dad. In response, Rey Mysterio interrupted Dominik with some emotional words as he made it clear he will never fight his son at WrestleMania or anywhere else.
My Score: 2 out of 5 Match #2: Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez def. Tegan Nox & Emma The following is courtesy of wwe.

Match #1: Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler def. Natalya & Shotzi The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
One night before Natalya will battle inside the career-altering Elimination Chamber for an opportunity to face the Raw Women’s Champion at WrestleMania, The B.O.A.T. and Shotzi failed to get retribution on Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler in an explosive opening tag team matchup. Despite Montreal being in the home country of The Queen of Harts and an incredible effort by both her and her partner, The Baddest Woman on the Planet survived Natalya’s Sharpshooter. Then, after Baszler pulled the third-generation Superstar out of ring, it paved the way for Rousey to make Shotzi tap out to the Armbar.

Match #1: Drew McIntyre & Sheamus def. Hit Row The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
After Hit Row complained to WWE Official Adam Pearce regarding how they exited the SmackDown Tag Team Title Contenders’ Tournament, Pearce sanctioned a match between Hit Row and Drew McIntyre & Sheamus. Ashante Adonis jaw-jacked to start but got immediately leveled with the Glasgow Kiss. The beats wouldn’t stop there though, as Sheamus hit more than 20 Beats of the Bodhran on Top Dolla, followed by a White Noise on Adonis. A Claymore from McIntyre to Top Dolla, plus a Brogue Kick from Sheamus to Adonis, sealed the one sided victory for the Warriors’ two.
My Score: 1 out of 5 Match #2: Lacey Evans def. Carmen Harress The following is courtesy of wwe.

Match #1: Intercontinental Championship Match – Gunther def. Braun Strowman The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The Ring General and The Monster of All Monsters absolutely pummeled each other. Fitting that this title match was occurring in Title Town as the two showed the grit necessary to come out as champion. Wearing special boots designed with the help of the Green Bay Packers, Strowman put said boots to Gunther, using them to derail the Intercontinental Champion and send him over the announce table. Even though they were sent to the backstage area by Gunther before the match, the rest of Imperium emerged, forcing Strowman to fend them off before delivering a menacing powerslam to Gunther that could only garner a two-count. Gunther continued the match with a plan,...
