Cory Wilde was born 8 October 1972 in Cedar Rapids Iowa, and attended School in Mt. Vernon Iowa Graduating from Mt. Vernon high school May 1991. Upon graduation he attended Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids Iowa where he studied in Business Administration and College of Fire Fighting. During this time, he also worked at his family business.
Cory Joined the United States Air Force May 17 1995 and after basic training studied the art of firearms instruction and maintenance graduating in September 1995. His Air Force Career Started in October 1995 when he was first stationed at Kirtland Air Force Base (AFB), New Mexico as a Combat Arms Training and Maintenance Instructor. Kirtland AFB has been a location of many milestones and memories. While Stationed at Kirtland (the first time), Cory Wilde was introduced to his wife Lisa on July 6 1996, They married on July 26 1997. Shortly after Cory deployed for the first time to Ahmed Al Jabber AB, Kuwait, after his return from this deployment Cory received notification of assignment. Cory had a permanent change of station (PCS) to Kunsan Air Base, South Korea where he spent a year adding to his qualifications as a firearms instructor where he studied Mortars, M2 Browning machine-gun and MK19 automatic grenade launcher. After completion of this assignment Cory returned to his wife Lisa and they packed their home and transitioned to Alaska where they were stationed at both Eielson AFB then Elmendorf AFB. Cory was scheduled to deploy to Al Udeid AB, Qatar. A week before he left Lisa told him some exciting news...they were going to have a baby. Shortly after his return from his deployment, Lisa gave birth to their amazing daughter and ballerina! In August 2007 Cory volunteered to return to Kirtland AFB in order to be closer to family and provide their daughter an opportunity to have her grandparents in her life.
Cory has worn many hats in his 20 years of Air Force service. They ranged from Unit Deployment Manager, Flight Line Security Supervisor, Non Commissioned Officer In Charge of Armories, Non Commissioned Officer In Charge Of Vehicles, Law Enforcement Flight Chief, Additional Duty First Sergeant, and NOIC of Combat Arms Training and Maintenance. Corys Air Force Career started October 8 1995, with his passion for firearms and weapons, as a Combat Arms Instructor at kirtland AFB. 20 Years later, he retired as the NCOIC of Combat Arms, leading the same shop he worked in as an Airman.
Prior to his retirement from the Air Force, Cory was given an opportunity to work on the set as an assistant armorer for the show Whiskey Tango Foxtrot (formerly known as fun house and four ten four). Cory enjoyed this work and decided to further his endeavors as an armorer utilizing his skill set and passion within the film industry.
