Adam Nelson is a film director and screenwriter whose creative voice is shaped by a global outlook and curiosity, an upbringing in theatre, and a passion for cinema history. He is regularly drawn to narratives that explore isolated characters in crisis. Often taking form in understated, carefully mapped character dramas staged against textured visual landscapes, Adam's films are defined by a fundamentally personal voice that skews toward a resilience of human spirit. As a filmmaker, Adam has been fortunate to travel the world to share and create stories that have gone on to garner international accolade, including multiple Television Emmys, Cannes Lions and film festival jury awards. He has recently directed works shot across Los Angeles, New York City, London, Toronto, Vancouver, Budapest, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia and Thailand.
Adam recently began casting his feature debut, Care a narrative drama based on a best-selling memoir. Adam penned the adaption and will direct. Care is Executive Produced by Killer Films' Christine Vachon (Past Lives, Carol, First Reformed) and produced by Randy Manis (Kill Your Darlings) and Neal Dodson (Margin Call, A Most Violent Year).
