Former NBA player and Hollywood producer Jarnell Stokes and Grammy-nominated film and music producer Vassal Benford III have partnered with sports manager Torrel Harris of to launch Tbc Sports Entertainment (Tbcs).
In collaboration with Harris’ Unique Sports Management International (Usmi), Tbcs will work on content featuring noted sports figures based on relevant stories produced by Stokes. Additionally, Tbcs aims to create ancillary incomes for the athletes through promotion on social media and digital platforms.
Projects underway include “Memphis on the Mountain Top,” a docuseries showcasing the intersection of iconic civil rights leaders, sports and music during the city’s struggle in the late ’60s as the epicenter of the social justice movement, and “Learning to Win,” a television series hosted by Stokes. “Learning to Win” takes A-list sports figures back to their past, reuniting them with an educator who made a difference in his/her life.

Exclusive: Pro basketball player Jarnell Stokes is partnering with veteran animation exec and producer Jay Fukuto to co-write and produce Wings to Fly, an animated feature based on his sports-themed children’s book of the same name.
The book published by Creation Nation Animation in April of 2020 is a redemption tale about a brilliant, but self-centered rising basketball star who is prematurely killed, only to discover his higher spiritual purpose helping a young girl. At a crossroad between a virtuous life and a path to crime, Louisa meets her guardian angel, Jerrold, who teaches her the game of life through basketball, learning that success comes with perseverance.
