Jackie Gamber
- Writer
- Producer
- Director
Jackie grew up in Michigan, communing with trees when she wasn't writing angsty teenage poetry. Since then, she's become a veteran of the United States Air Force, a mom, and a national award-winning editor and author of science fiction, fantasy, horror, and paranormal short stories, novels, and screenplays. She has been a member of Science Fiction Writers of America and Horror Writers Association. She was named honorable mention in L. Ron Hubbard's Writers of the Future Award and is the winner of the Mary Shelley Award for Imaginative Fiction. In addition, during Jackie's tenure as Executive Editor of Meadowhawk Press, the indie house captured Science Fiction's Philip K. Dick Award, only the fourth time in history the award has gone to a small press.
She is also writer/director of Big Imagine, an award-winning indie film studio in Atlanta, GA, established to expand her visual fiction. Her films include her genre-bending style of mixed elements and character-driven story. As such, she explores characters from all walks; as inclusive and diverse as real life, itself.
Jackie believes in the life-altering use of imagination, as both an artistic expression, and as an everyday tool for self-awareness and empowerment.
