- [on her role in Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (2019)] I'm so not an action-movie type. I'm a theater nerd from London! But you want a lot of different experiences as an actor. As many as possible.
- It's not the big American films that I want to do. It's the independent American cinema, directors like Charlie Kaufman, Drake Doremus, and Derek Cianfrance. Equally there are many Europeans, like Paolo Sorrentino, that I'm completely obsessed with. So I think you have to find your tribe in a way.
- You can choose to be a horrible, mean parent to yourself or you can choose to be a kind, compassionate one. You have a choice between one or the other. But the natural tendency is to lean towards being the horrible, mean parent towards ourselves. The work every day is to move towards being the real, compassionate and kind one who is really forgiving, I think. And you really need to monitor which parent you are being to yourself.
- I think my natural home was always the stage. I always saw myself as a stage actress, and that was the reason I wanted to act, but very slowly I've changed. But film is also a craft and you have to learn screen acting and I've always felt that it's also the kind of place that you have to do time, much like when you're on stage.
