Love Death + Robots (also known as ) is one of Netflix’s biggest animated productions of all time and one of its biggest hits. Despite the fact that this anthology series embraced the short form, it became a smashing hit and the fans absolutely love it.

Before today, a total of 35 episodes spread through three seasons (volumes) had been released, with the latest season (volume) releasing in 2022. But today, on May 15, 2025, the situation has changed.

Namely, the long-awaited fourth season (volume) of Love Death + Robots has been released and we have a special treat for Rhcp fans.

Already a prolific entrepreneur with a background in marketing and logistics, Ude was making a name for herself in the African entertainment space at the time. After doing a road show for the Nigeria Film and Videos Censors Board in London, she was brought aboard as a project manager for the Ion International Film festival, a global touring festival which was headed to Nigeria.

Her work impressed local government officials and the experience, says Ude, gave her the idea to launch a Lagos-based international film festival with a wider focus on the African continent.

Finn Halligan, Screen International’s executive editor, reviews and new talent, is to leave the publication to become director of international programs for Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea International Film Festival.

Halligan will depart Screen at the end of June, after working through Cannes Film Festival, as well as preparing the 2025 edition of Screen’s UK & Ireland Stars of Tomorrow showcase.

When we think of John Boyega, we immediately attach his name to one of the biggest franchises in the world, Star Wars. However, before Boyega became Finn, a galactic hero, the actor played Moses in the 2011 sci-fi horror Attack the Block. While he wasn't a valiant force-sensitive resistance fighter, Boyega's Moses helps defend his neighborhood from an alien threat. "A group of valiant teenagers ventures out to battle a savage alien incursion. With the invasive species jeopardizing their vicinity in Southern London, they fight to succeed in their mission," reads the official synopsis. After a length production, Love, Death + Robots season 4 is quickly approaching, offering 10 new short films in its anthology series. John Boyega explains the delayed development of Attack the Block 2. Before he played Finn in Star Wars, Boyega was in a British sci-fi movie called Attack the Block. The film centered around a teenage gang in South London who are forced to defend their territory when an alien invasion comes their way. The film was directed by Joe Cornish and featured a cast including Boyega, Jodie Whittaker, Alex Esmail, and Leeon Jones. Since the movie's release in 2011, Attack the Block 2 has been confirmed and is currently in pre-production.

Speaking with Josh Horowitz on Happy Sad Confused, Boyega explains why Attack the Block 2 has been delayed. When pressed about why the film was taking so long, Boyega noted that Cornish and the team are "just cooking it to make it right for everyone." Part of this involves securing more funding to bring the effects up to modern standards.

At a recent panel at a C2E2 event in Chicago, John Boyega shed some extra light on what the "Star Wars" sequel trilogy almost did with his character Finn. Most fans have already heard that director J.J. Abrams intended to reveal that Finn was force-sensitive, but Boyega offered up a little more info about what that moment would've looked like. Finn was supposed to have this big reveal when he was sinking into quicksand on the desert planet of Pasaana. In the finished cut, Finn yells "Rey, I never told you..." but then gets sucked under the sand. He's later rescued, but never explains what he was going to say. But as Boyega put it:

"I mean, I did try to tell Rey before I went down. There was a couple takes where I just said it, '[shouts] I'm a Jedi.' There was a couple, but it was good to tease it.

Netflix’s animated anthology series “Love, Death + Robots” will return for a fourth volume on May 15, and the streamer has unleashed the official trailer this afternoon.

The animated, genre-bending series is created by Deadpool and Terminator: Dark Fate director Tim Miller, who executive produces alongside David Fincher.

Of particular note for the upcoming Volume 4, David Fincher returns as a director with his episode “Can’t Stop” featuring the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

In the trailer Season 4 of the Emmy-winning program, streaming May 15 on Netflix, MrBeast leads a galactic gladiator ring with dinosaur-riding mutants and John Oliver plays an adorable robot butler.

David Fincher directs the premiere episode “Can’t Stop,” a spin on the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ 2003 performance at Slane Castle, with Anthony Kiedis, Flea, Chad Smith and John Frusciante recreated as marionettes.

Plus, cat plotting world domination, Dolphin Jesus, enormous babies and Satan fill the next batch of episodes of the dystopian anthology series, presented by Tim Miller and Fincher, who executive produce alongside Jennifer Miller and Joshua Donen. We first heard about plans for a live-action Pacific Rim series last year, and we now have confirmation that the project is moving forward at Amazon Prime Video.

Variety reports that the show is being developed as part of a deal between lead studio Legendary Television and Amazon MGM Studios. Eric Heisserer will serve as writer and executive producer under his Chronology banner.

Plot details are still being kept under wraps, but we do know that the untitled series will serve as a prequel to the movies. Apparently, "there is still the potential for new films in the franchise as well."

The Pacific Rim franchise launched back in 2013 with Guillermo del Toro's original movie, which was followed in 2018 by Steve S. DeKnight's Pacific Rim: Uprising. Since then, we've had the Pacific Rim: The Black animated series, as well as various comic books, novels, video games and other tie-in merchandise.

When Jar Jar Binks first appeared in Star Wars, people didn't respond to the character very well. Yet there's no denying that the technology used to create him set the groundwork for computer-generated characters to come.

Legendary’s Pacific Rim series has landed at Amazon MGM Studios. The two studios will adapt the IP together (with Legendary in first position) for Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service.

The Pacific Rim TV project, currently in development, is the first from Legendary’s first-look television deal with Eric Heisserer and his Chronology banner. Heisserer will write and executive produce the series.

The Pacific Rim universe first launched in 2013 with the Guillermo del Toro-directed feature film of the same name. The title has since expanded into animated television (Pacific Rim: The Black), comic books, novels, gaming and toys. In 2018, Steve S. DeKnight wrote and directed a second feature film in the franchise: Pacific Rim: Uprising.

The Pacific Rim franchise started in 2013, and it was expected to continue with a new TV series prequel. Although the news of the prequel came out in August 2024, it took a long time before Legendary Entertainment was officially greenlit.

Now, the prequel has received a new exciting update. Per Variety, thePacific Rim TV show will be officially moving forward at Amazon Studios.The upcoming live-action project is in development and will premiere on Prime Video, per a lead between Legendary and Amazon MGM Studios.

Eric Heisserer was attached to the project, who previously developed the Netflix series Shadow and Bone, and wrote the script for 2016's Arrival, for which he received an Academy Award nomination. He also wrote the script for 2010's A Nightmare on Elm Street, 2011's Final Destination 5, 2018's Bird Box, and, most recently, 2020's Bloodshot starring Vin Diesel. Heisserer will serve as writer and executive producer under his Chronology banner.

Prime Video is drift-compatible with Pacific Rim. A TV spinoff of Guillermo del Toro's 2013 mecha vs. monsters magnum opus is coming to the streaming service. Variety reports that Eric Heisserer is writing and executive producing the series.

Heisserer is an Academy Award nominee for his Arrivalscript; recently, he wrote and showran Netflix's Shadow and Bone. His Pacific Rim series is to be a prequel to the 2013 film, which previously received a 2018 sequel and a 2021 Netflix animated series. The new series will be live-action, but it does not rule out any future theatrical films in the franchise, which have lingered in development hell since 2018's Pacific Rim: Uprising disappointed at the box office. There is no word yet on whether any of the film's characters or cast members will return, or if the ever-busy del Toro will have any involvement with the series.

What Is 'Pacific Rim' About?...

No major fandom is immune to toxicity, and although this isn’t to say such fanbases surrounding major IPs are toxic in their entirety, a vocal minority, especially in the age of social media, often fosters a negative environment. This remains much more evident when it comes to Star Wars, arguably one of the biggest IPs in business, and its lack of direction since Disney’s acquisition of Lucasfilm has only contributed to the toxic subset.

But amidst studio misfires, it’s the actors who often end up paying the cost, especially when it comes to people of color in major roles, which was apparent with the racist backlash against John Boyega. In addition to Boyega, his co-star Kelly Marie Tran also found herself at the center of the racist backlash, and like him, the actress has opted to call the toxicity out.

Kelly Marie Tran recently reflected on the hate she and her character Rose Tico received when “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” was released in 2017, calling the bullying that drove her off social media “a microcosm for the social climate that we’re living in.”

Tran, who co-stars in Andrew Ahn’s “The Wedding Banquet” remake, said what she and co-star John Boyega experienced after joining the franchise happens “pretty consistently to actors of color who find themselves in these spaces,” she told Variety in an interview published on Wednesday.

“I think these occurrences are a microcosm for the social climate that we’re living in. And it’s really unfortunate,” the actress shared.

When asked what she hopes changes in Hollywood for actors of color, she replied, “The world?!””

Now, Tran is celebrating her heritage and picking Asian-lead movies. “I’ve been able to learn how to celebrate the parts of myself that, at the time, I was scared of, or I was made to feel like I had to be ashamed of,” she told Variety. Next up for her is The Wedding Banquet, where she'll star opposite Lily Gladstone. She plays a queer woman in the film - and last year, she came out as queer herself.

Kelly Marie Tran is finally in a good place in her career. She’s proud of who she is and the roles she’s taking on. But just a few years ago, things were very different.

When Tran joined the Star Wars universe in 2017 as Rose Tico in The Last Jedi, she faced terrible backlash. Some fans reacted with racism and sexism, sending hateful messages and attacking her online. Now, Tran is speaking up about how that time affected her.
