He holds a BA in Cinema Art from The Art Academy, Higher Cinema Institute, Egypt and has over 11 years of experience in the Cinema industry in Cairo and the developing scene in Palestine, where he developed a diverse skill set and learned from industry experts.
The accolades didn't stop there. Karam furthered his education at Bournemouth University in the UK, graduating with honors and obtaining an MA in Digital Effects.
Karam's professional journey saw him collaborate on a range of films, serving as a Key Production Assistant on Bassam Jarbawi's "Screwdriver" and assisting in directing ventures such as Larrisa Sansour's "In Vitro", Rama Marie's "Blued", Emtiaz Diab's "Birth Of Words", and Basil Al Khatib's series, "Nasir". Specializing in post-production, he showcased his editing prowess in films like "In The Last Days Of The City" by Tamer El Said, "Dancing Under Crossfire" by Hayder Helow, and "No Exit" by Mohanad Yaqubi.
Outside the cinematic universe, Karam contributed his expertise as a Promotion Producer for Al Falastineh TV and frequently partnered with esteemed organizations like The Palestinian Museum, Geothe Institute Ramallah, and A.M Qattan Foundation. His endeavors with these institutions encompassed documenting their contributions and crafting both promotional and artistic content.
His most recent work "Chopped" is a feature documentary to be released in 2024. This marks a reflexive turn in Ali's filmmaking, focusing on his development as a filmmaker and a storyteller over the past 11 years, paving the way to direct his first fiction film.
