The Painter is another tale of a former covert operative forced to pick up his weapons and get back in the game. Can director Kimani Ray Smith and writer Brian Buccellato find a way to give the year a fresh start with the usual assortment of high-stakes espionage mixed with personal and professional betrayals?
Peter was one of the CIA’s top agents until he was sent to kill the same person his wife Elena’s team was sent to bring back alive. She lost the child she was carrying, and their marriage fell apart soon after.
It also destroyed his trust in the agency and in his adoptive father Henry Byrne. He adopted Peter after his parents, who were also agents, were killed in a...

Awkwardly arriving the very same day as “The Bricklayer,” with Aaron Eckhart as an ex-CIA agent with the titular dayjob, “The Painter” has Charlie Weber as ex-cia agent who has taken up … well, you can guess. This more humbly scaled actioner likewise finds its uber-tough erstwhile operative reluctantly forced back into activity amid a conspiratorial hail of bullets. From that shared starting point, Brian Buccellato’s script finds its own path. But neither he nor director Kimani Ray Smith locate much credibility or suspense in an uninspired tale that also features Jon Voight, as well as Madison Bailey from the Netflix series “The Outer Banks.” Lacking in most departments beyond decent pacing and adequate technical polish, this forgettable thriller launches in limited U.S. theaters Jan. 5, and on digital platforms Jan. 9.

"Tell me about the people who came to kill me." Paramount Movies has revealed the official trailer for an action thriller titled The Painter, made by the filmmaker / stunt coordinator Kimani Ray Smith. This is yet another one of these dull action movies being dumped right onto home video / VOD right away. An ex-CIA operative turned painter is thrown back into a dangerous world when a mysterious woman from his past resurfaces. Now exposed and targeted by a relentless killer and a rogue black ops program, he must rely on skills he thought he left behind in a high-stakes game of survival. Charlie Weber stars as Peter, with Jon Voight, Marie Avgeropoulos, Luisa d'Oliveira, Leah Gibson, and Madison Bailey. This looks like the most obvious & generic action plot ever, a must-save-a-girl-by-killing-everyone repeat and nothing else. // Continue Reading ›...

A show like The 100 is only as strong as its characters, and telling Emori's story was a perfect example of that.
With Emori came a look at another life, and the fascination with where she would end up along the way only grew. No one understood the pain that Emori went through, but she didn't let her past stop her.
Emori was motivated by finding something better for herself, and the audience was just as excited to follow her on this journey. We wanted to see her get to thrive in a way that she hadn't had the chance to before.
The moment Luisa D'Oliveira appeared on the show is the moment that something shifted. Through Luisa came Emori, a fresh take on a Grounder story and an even more refreshing perspective on a character that represented development.
Except it wasn't Emori that needed to grow as a person,...

It’s always difficult to bid farewell to a beloved television ensemble, but especially so for the cast of The CW’s The 100. Many viewers have literally grown up alongside these characters, who started as juvenile delinquents and ended as adults who had lived several lifetimes. Even for older viewers, the characters and the actors behind them have become much beloved.
In this case, we can happily say until we meet again, as many cast members have already lined up new projects. Some are jumping immediately into new TV series, while others are exploring film franchises. At least one actor who got the chance to try her hand at directing on The 100 is honing that craft in future projects.
Read on for the next steps for all of your favorites.

This The 100 review contains spoilers
The 100 Season 7 Episode 3
First, it must be said that it is deeply weird to write about something as frivolous as a television right now, especially a post-apocalyptic show where people are discussing riots and whether political violence is acceptable. Second, I will not be attempting to draw some sort of bizarre connection between the two because that ain’t it, chief. Not all weird coincidences are allegories, ya know?
This episode did an important job in that it started shading in some color when it comes to the various factions around Sanctum. The convicts were developed from an anonymous mass into people with backstories who we at least don’t want to see led off to slaughter in the space of just two episodes. Even the couple we meet during the cold open felt fully realized as we watched their doom. Bringing the characters we already know,...

Earlier last month, The 100 fandom got together in Vancouver for Unity Days 2020 to celebrate the final season of the show and to enjoy the fan-created convention once again.
With the final season still filming, there wasn't much that could be shared by the cast. In fact, everything has been very secret this time around, and we haven't even gotten a premiere date or the promise of a potential trailer.
But that is the appeal of a convention, to give fans and cast members the chance to see one another and reflect on the legacy of the show together.
That is exactly what happened from January 24th through January 26th, with fans and the cast alike spending the weekend together talking about their love for the show and their excitement for The 100 Season 7.
Cast members in attendance included Eliza Taylor (Clarke Griffin), Bob Morley (Bellamy Blake), Chuku Modu (Gabriel Santiago...

A show like The 100 is built on a passionate fanbase, so it only makes sense that the convention built around that echoes the same statement.
It was passion that pushed fans to ask for more Unity Days, and it was that reaction that pushed a fourth year of the convention coming up January 24-26, 2020.
And as any previous Unity Days attendee knows, no year is ever exactly the same. Each time the convention recreates what worked best the year before, and yet also manages to surprise the fans with unexpected ideas.
This time around that turned into Unity Days hosting their largest guest count yet, rounding out at 17 actors from the show, and that is just the backdrop for what is yet to come.
The convention has also managed to gain a lot of new faces, not just to Unity Days but to most The 100 fans as well. Actors like Chuku Modu,...

Earlier this month, The 100 fandom came together in Boston for Conageddon 2019 to celebrate the upcoming season of the show and to enjoy the convention that promotes an intimate fan experience each year.
Conageddon is a convention that was created by Bob Morley, Eliza Taylor, Zach McGowan, Mike Gillespie, and Thomas Leath that focuses on bringing The 100 actors to the Us more prominently.
It was with their hard work and with the valuable assistance from lovely volunteers throughout the weekend that made Conageddon as memorable as it is.
Having the actors involved in the creation was a great asset too, allowing for two parties for the fans that had the cast in attendance which helped create some great memories along the way.
There was also the addition of a live stream for several panels, giving fans that couldn't go the chance to see what was happening. This approach helped remove some...

Caution! There are spoilers here, so if you haven't watched tonight's season finale of The 100, turn back now! Well, the world ended. The 100's season four finale gave us that death wave of fire that the show has been promising since the very end of season three, but it really did its best to make us as stressed as emotionally possible beforehand. While Octavia (Marie Avgeropoulos) and her new clan of 1200 survivors were safely tucked away in the bunker, Clarke (Eliza Taylor), Bellamy (Bob Morley), Raven (Lindsey Morgan), Monty (Chris Larkin), Harper (Chelsey Reist), Murphy (Richard Harmon), Emori (Luisa D'Oliveira), and Echo (Tasya Teles) all knew that making it to space in a rocket...

Who knew Murphy (Richard Harmon) could cook? Clarke (Eliza Taylor) certainly didn't, but she gets an oddly domestic surprise in this week's episode of The 100 when she takes a momentary break from trying to save hundreds of lives in the post-apocalyptic/pre-apocalyptic wilderness to visit Becca's island. Murphy and Emori (Luisa D'Oliveira) have shacked up in that big mansion, and it's almost like the next total disaster is not just around the corner. Murphy's got music playing, he's cooking something fancy, and he and Emori are cute as can be. In the clip above, exclusive to E! News, Clarke arrives at the mansion to find herself in a whole new...

With "Heroes" history, that means cast members are going to be looking for work. The good news for anyone who has ever appeared on a popular genre program is that you can always count on getting work in a Syfy original movie. Next year former flying hero Adrian Pasdar will have to deal with a more earthbound horror when he enters Syfy's Garden of Evil.
So what terror awaits Pasdar in this garden of evil? It's actually an ecological disaster flick, but the disaster is being caused by monstrous plants unleashed from ancient times.
Militant environmentalists Kate and Joe witness, and videotape, the rapid growth of a gigantic root system that literally begins mowing through the country like an earthquake. At the same time, government agent Jack Taylor contacts plant expert Jocelyn Snow, who discovers that her ex-colleague, Frame Marcos, is the probable source of the ancient seed that started the whole ecological disaster.
