‘Thunderbolts*’ Races Past Disastrous $200 Million Superhero Bomb at Global Box Office
Image
After two weeks of release in theaters worldwide, Thunderbolts* has cemented itself among the 100 highest-grossing superhero movies ever made. The generally well-liked film has been delivering a solid performance at the box office, aided no doubt by the fact that it's facing little competition. But 15 days was all that it needed to overtake the lifetime global haul of the DC Extended Universe's The Flash. Touted as the movie that would rescue the doomed franchise, The Flash opened amid controversy surrounding its star, Ezra Miller, and performed poorly at the box office.

It concluded its run with $271 million against a reported budget of around $220 million. The Flash ultimately ended up being one of the final films of the Dceu, which is now been rebooted as the DC Universe under the stewardship of James Gunn and Peter Safran. They've been hired to give the franchise the sort of creative vision that took...

Image
Peacemaker Season 2 is right around the corner, being one of the few projects that got carried over from the Dceu to the Dcu. The first legacy project from Zack Snyder’s iteration of the DC Universe, fans have already begun speculation about how the series could bridge the two universes.

A theory has risen thanks to the trailer footage that has been released, which shows Peacemaker facing off with what looks like a doppelganger of himself. Fans have speculated that this might actually be the Dceu Peacemaker fighting the Dcu Peacemaker.

Andy Muschietti to Direct High-Stakes Space Hostage Film Amid Lack of Updates on His Dcu Batman Movie
Image
Fan-favorite filmmaker Andy Muschietti has found his next project. As he waits for DC Studios to lock in a screenplay for The Brave and the Bold, Muschietti has become attached to direct Drift.

Per Deadline, Muschietti will also produce Drift with his sister Barbara Muschietti via their production company Double Dream. Skydance quickly moved to acquire Drift after Muschietti expressed interest in helming the grounded sci-fi project. The project, based on an unpublished 38-page short story by Ben Queen & Jason Shuman, was on the market for less than 24 hours before Skydance snatched it up. Queen and Shuman will now adapt their short story for the big screen.

Described as Gravity meets Arrival, the upcoming sci-fi movie's logline reads as follows: "When his estranged son vanishes during a space mission, a once-legendary, now fallen from grace shuttle commander is pulled into a high-stakes hostage exchange in space to get his boy...

Fans Rank 10 Best Dceu Movies
Image
Dceu started out as a largely ambitious idea to replicate the success of the rival MCU. Warner Bros. came up with a decade-long plan to bring to the big screen some of the most iconic characters from the DC comic universe.

While the movies were profitable, the audiences disliked Snyder’s darker take on the characters and it was eventually disbanded with Gunn’s newly rebooted Dcu put in place. While some movies were considered to be disasters, Dceu did give us some timeless superhero hits. Due to this reason alone, fans gathered on Ranker to vote for the 10 best Dceu movies, so, let’s check them out.

10. ‘Blue Beetle’ (2023)

‘Blue Beetle’ was one of the last movies to be released under the Dceu umbrella, focusing on a superhero of the same name. Despite not attracting massive crowds to the cinema it was overall a decent movie with wholesome family...

John Cena Is Back as the Subversive Fan-Favorite Superhero in ‘Peacemaker’ Season 2 Teaser
Image
John Cena is strapping in again as subversive, sarcastic, and downright silly superhero Peacemaker for the long-awaited second season of the eponymous Max series.

“Peacemaker” Season 2 once again follows Christopher “Chris” Smith (Cena), aka vigilante superhero Peacemaker. This time, per the streamer, “he struggles to reconcile his past with his newfound sense of purpose while continuing to kick righteous evil-doer butt in his misguided quest for peace at any cost.” Danielle Brooks, Jennifer Holland, Freddie Stroma, Steve Agee, and Robert Patrick reprise their roles, with Frank Grillo, David Denman, Sol Rodriguez, and Tim Meadows joining the cast. The series first debuted in 2022.

James Gunn wrote all eight episodes of “Peacemaker” Season 2 and directs three episodes, including the premiere. Greg Mottola, Peter Sollett, and Alethea Jones also take on directing duties. Gunn, Peter Safran, and Cena serve as executive producers.

“Peacemaker” is a Max Original series from DC Studios and Warner Bros. Television,...

10 Worst Cameos In DC Movies & TV Shows
Image
Like love and marriage, comic book movies and cameos are an institute you cannot disparage. Marvel might be the trailblazer in this regard, finding unique and innovative ways to shoehorn everyone and their uncle into a movie or TV show, but DC isn't immune from turning its audience into a real-life Pointing Rick Dalton meme. Yet, for every great appearance, there's also a flubber -- a moment that flops harder than "Joker: Folie à Deux" did at the box office.

Take a look at 2023's "The Flash" as an example. With all its multiversal potential, minds raced to the infinite possibilities, imagining the chances of seeing Christian Bale's Batman return for a triumphant third act cameo or even seeing Ryan Reynolds' Green Lantern fly in for a visit. Instead, it turned into a CGI horrorfest where the tributes to past heroes angered -- rather than captivated -- viewers. It...

We Need to Talk About Kevin (2011) Movie Ending Explained & Themes Analyzed: Why did Kevin Commit the Crime?
Lynne Ramsay
Directed and co-written by Lynne Ramsay and based on Lionel Shriver’s 2003 novel of the same name, “We Need to Talk About Kevin” (2011) has remained one of the most talked-about movies of the last decade. The way it stages both the build-up to—and the aftermath of—a fictional school massacre, and how it unravels through the mother of the perpetrator, is so chillingly real and inwardly grounded that one might easily believe it’s based on a true incident.

The cinematic language Ramsay uses to examine familial blindness to sociopathy, societal blame-shifting, and the anatomy of trauma is so disarmingly simple and universal that it cuts deep. The film feels like a reel of a grieving woman’s life projected through a cracked mirror. And that’s not just aesthetic—it’s embedded deep within the storytelling. Eva’s non-linear character sketch holds nothing back that is crucial to...

Here Are 10 Best Dceu Movies According to Fans
Image
The Dceu began with ambitious plans to mirror the success of the MCU. Warner Bros. envisioned a decade-long strategy to bring some of DC Comics’ most iconic characters to the big screen.

Although the films were financially successful, Zack Snyder’s darker vision did not resonate with audiences, leading to the eventual dissolution of the Dceu in favor of James Gunn’s rebooted Dcu. Despite some movies being considered failures, the Dceu did deliver several memorable superhero hits. Because of this, fans have flocked to Ranker to vote for their top 10 Dceu movies. Let’s dive into their selections.

10. ‘Blue Beetle’ (2023)

“Blue Beetle” was one of the final films released under the Dceu banner, spotlighting the superhero of the same name. While it didn’t draw huge audiences to theaters, it was a solid film with heartfelt family themes and a great portrayal of the character. The exciting news is...

Grant Gustin Addresses Who Should Play The Flash In James Gunn's DC Universe
Image
Grant Gustin comments on who should play The Flash in the new DC Universe. Gustin played the character over The Flash's nine seasons, also appearing in multiple Arrowverse crossovers and other shows in the shared DC TV universe. The actor's time as Barry Allen came to an end in 2023, a few months before the Dceu's The Flash movie, which starred Ezra Miller, came out. The Flash movie became a box office bomb, leading to James Gunn claiming DC is "taking a beat" on development of the character. That leaves the door open for Barry Allen to be recast.

At Comic Con Liverpool (via Flashverse_yt/Twitter), Grant Gustin refused to give any suggestions for who should play the Dcu's The Flash.

Grant Gustin Says He Didn’t Like Some Storylines in ‘The Flash’ Season 7
Image
Grant Gustin, who played Barry Allen in The Flash, recently appeared at Liverpool Comic-Con and spoke about parts of Season 7 that he didn’t enjoy. In a new interview, he said he didn’t like the “Forces” storyline and also had problems with the lightsaber-style fight in the Godspeed arc.

In Season 7, Barry and Iris were shown to have created powerful energy beings called the Forces. These beings were treated like their “children” on the show. Gustin wasn’t a fan of that idea.

“Calling the forces ‘my children’… I tried to talk them out of that,” he said.

He also talked about the fight scene with the villain Godspeed, which involved lightsaber-style weapons made out of speed energy. That scene surprised him in a not-so-good way.

The Flash Was Bad but It Gave Us Both the Best and Worst Moments of Ben Affleck’s Batman
Image
Ezra Miller’s The Flash felt like a suppressed memory because of the controversies that plagued the franchise, as well as the long delay it endured. It should have been a highly anticipated movie because of the star-studded cast and the surprise cameos, but perhaps no amount of superhero legacy can fix a terrible script.

Despite the horrible experience that fans tolerated at the cinema, one thing it gave us was the unexpected duality of Ben Affleck’s Batman. We’ve seen several portrayals of the famed Caped Crusader from different actors, but for this one, Affleck gave us range.

The DC Extended Universe Is Dead, Long Live The Dcu: Every Dceu Movie Ranked From Worst To Best
Image
The DC Extended Universe ended in 2023 with the sight of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom's Orm eating a cockroach. After a disastrous year for the brand, it almost seemed fitting for it to conclude on such a bum note, but it wasn't all bad for the Dceu.

Sure, it was a rocky ride, and there were perhaps more misses than hits over the years, but it would be wrong to write this franchise off as a total disaster. A few of these titles were even great comic book movies, and it's those that the Dcu will need to compete with.

Ahead of Superman's release in theaters this July, we're ranking each of the Dceu movies from best to worst. Remember, this is only one person's opinion, and you're likely to have a very different take; we'd love to hear those in the comments section.

From Magic to Mayhem: Fantastic Beasts Box Office Plunged $400M by Part 3
Image
From Magic to Mayhem: Fantastic Beasts Box Office record(Photo Credit –Facebook)

Once upon a time, the Fantastic Beasts franchise had all the sparkle of a fresh wand from Ollivanders and the hype of a Quidditch World Cup. It was supposed to be the magical comeback after Harry Potter’s final bow, more spells, more beasts, more Dumbledore. But somewhere between Nifflers and Grindelwalds, the magic started fizzling out. The first film had fans excited, enchanted, and maybe emotionally invested in Newt’s socially awkward charm.

But by the time Part 3 rolled around, even die-hard Potterheads were like, “Wait, we’re still doing this?” Plot confusion, recast drama, and many lore dumps turned the once-promising prequel into a cinematic shrug. What started as a five-film epic suddenly felt like it needed a Time-Turner to stay relevant. Whether it was franchise fatigue or too many unanswered questions, one thing’s clear:...

Peacemaker: Actress confirms playing Batman villain in the upcoming second season
Image
Late last year, James Gunn announced that the second season of Peacemaker, a spin-off of his film The Suicide Squad, had wrapped. He would announce to fans on his official social media, saying, “And that is a Wrap on Peacemaker season 2, including our last remaining actors Steve Agee, Tim Meadows, Sol Rodriguez & Brandon Stanley (& our Dp Sam McCurdy pictured here moments after the last shot.)” Gunn wrote. “Thanks to our entire cast & crew who made this a wonderful experience. My relief to have a break from shooting after ten months straight is countered by how much I’ll miss all of you!“ However, very little is known about this upcoming season, which will premiere this August on Max (a month after the release of his Superman). Gunn would even tease fans about an added character with a mysterious set pic. Now, Newsweek is reporting on a revealed bit of casting.

Ben Affleck ‘Not Interested’ in Superhero Genre, Calls Playing Batman ‘Excruciating’

Ben Affleck is leaving the Batman mask and cloak behind for good. In a cover story interview with GQ, the actor called playing Bruce Wayne for 2017’s Justice League an “excruciating experience” and said he had no interest in the superhero genre at all.

“I am not interested in going down that particular genre again, not because of that bad experience, but just: I’ve lost interest in what was of interest about it to me,” Affleck told the publication. “But I certainly wouldn’t want to replicate an experience like that.

Ben Affleck Done With Batman Role After "Bad Experience" in Dceu
Image
If there is anything to be said about Ben Affleck, it's that he has been consistently honest about his triumphs and failures during his long career. The Oscar-winner has had his fair share of wins, but he has also stumbled on occasion and his time with the DC Universe may fall into the latter category for some. Even though his portrayal of Bruce Wayne/Batman has been considered a fan favorite, the films and subsequent dramas that followed some of their releases have overshadowed some of the actor's work in the films. Now, with some time away from the Dceu, Affleck is revealing that his time playing a superhero is officially over.

During a new cover story with GQ Magazine, Affleck looked back on his time with the Dceu and dug into what went wrong during his time as Batman. After previously stating in 2022 that playing The Dark Knight was "the worst experience,...

6 Marvel And DC Actors Who Inadvertently Helped Tank The Superhero Movies They Starred In
Image
Plenty of superhero movies have fallen afoul of fans and critics over the years, with that sometimes enough to doom their chances of success. Then, there's been the rare occasion when someone directly involved with one of these adaptations has helped (inadvertently or otherwise) tank them.

How could any of us forget Fantastic Four director Josh Trank disowning the reboot on Twitter in 2015? According to box office analysts, his remarks and negative press they received in the days that followed, were enough to shave as much as $10 million off the movie's opening weekend.

In this feature, we're concentrating on actors who caused irreparable damage to the superhero movies they starred in. Whether it was refusing to promote them, personal issues which killed fan interest, or even uncontrollable egos, we're sure you'll agree this lot did little to help.

True Reason Director Andy Muschietti Thinks “The Flash” Failed at the Box Office
Image
In the ever-evolving world of the entertainment industry, no genre has generated as much fan appeal and anticipation as superhero cinema. While the Marvel Cinematic Universe has become a giant when it comes to box office numbers and drawing audiences, the DC Studios is not far behind. One of its most anticipated films, thanks to how much it was hyped during its marketing campaign, was the film The Flash.

One of the last films of Snyderverse, directed by Andy Muschietti and starring Ezra Miller as the titular speedster, the 2023 film promised to deliver a multiverse-spanning adventure that would have redefined the DC Extended Universe. Apart from Miller, the film features several A-listers, including Michael Keaton reprising his role of the Dark Knight as an alternate version of the character from a different timeline.

However, while the film seemed destined for success thanks to its ambitious premise,...

10 bad DC Movies that shouldn't have been allowed to happen
Image
There have been a lot of rough DC Comics movies but which ones are truly the worst of the worst?

DC started early on the superhero movie trend with 1978’s Superman and later 1989’s Batman. However, despite successes like Wonder Woman and Aquaman, the Dceu faltered compared to the MCU. Somehow, Warner Bros and DC couldn’t make it all work right and it all came to a lame ending.

There have been some pretty poor to outright bad movies based on DC Comics such as Batman v Superman or The Flash. However, there are several films that stand out for how truly awful they are and leave us thinking they shouldn't have happened. They waste great casts and story potential while also being just flat-out terrible movies.

Here are how the ten worst DC Comics movies rank and marvel (no pun intended) on how badly they botched these characters.

An Absurdly Great Cast Tortures Each Other in This Disturbing, Real-Life Thriller That Will Leave You Shaking
Image
Would you choose guard or prisoner? In 1971, a sociological and psychological study was conducted at the prestigious Stanford University in Palo Alto, California, where Professor of psychology Dr. Philip Zimbardo (Billy Crudup) asked that question to some college students played by some of the brightest young stars in Hollywood. Kyle Patrick Alvarez directs the true story of 2015's The Stanford Prison Experiment, which is a gut-wrenching retelling of the true story of a theoretical study gone horribly awry. A stellar ensemble cast includes Michael Angarano, Nicholas Braun, Tye Sheridan, Ezra Miller and Olivia Thirlby as Alvarez deliberately paces the frighteningly real-life story. However, the performances of Miller and Angarano stand out as they become the de facto alphas of the two separate groups of guards and prisoners to see the effect that harsh oppression has on the human's sense of self. Zimbardo intended to strip these young men's individuality away and see what would happen.

Inside Disney’s ‘Snow White’ Troubles: “They Need to Get This Over With”
Image
Disney’s Snow White won’t hit theaters until March 21, but for the team at the Mouse House, that date can’t come soon enough.

The female-skewing live-action event pic, which remakes Walt Disney’s cherished 1937 animated classic, has been under fire for years on social media due to a combination of the film’s progressive creative decisions and star Rachel Zegler’s controversial comments, while also suffering from culture-war attacks that seemed doggedly determined to torpedo the perceived “woke” film no matter what.

As a result, Disney is handling the movie’s rollout in some unique ways.

In news that broke earlier this week, Disney is taking next-level measures to stage manage the film’s world premiere in Los Angles on March 15. While the event won’t be scaled back, as some headlines claimed, the studio isn’t allowing regular red carpet press to attend in order to prevent Zegler and Gal Gadot,...

Smallville Secretly Ruined Tom Welling's Chance of Playing a Proper Superman (& It's Even More Frustrating 14 Years Later)
Image
Smallville captivated audiences during its heyday in the 2000s, but a wave of nostalgia for Superman's origin story has revived its popularity. From TalkVille, the rewatch podcast hosted by Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum—whoplayed Clark and Lex on Smallville—to the buzz surrounding James Gunn's Superman reboot kickstarting the Dcu, it's clear that the CW series has burst back into the cultural conversation.

James Gunn's acknowledgment of Smallville as an influence on his vision of Dcu's Man of Steel has reignited interest in the series, attracting new and returning fans. Yet, theSmallville renaissance is bittersweet for longtime fans. Warner Bros. enlisted the director of Guardians of the Galaxy to lead the Dcu following lackluster performances in Superman's recent theatrical releases—a maddening turn of events for Smallville lovers who, for decades, have campaigned for Welling to get a chance to play Superman on the silver screen.

Could The SnyderVerse Be Revived Under DC Studios' Multiverse?
Image
The SnyderVerse. A very controversial topic. It evokes electronically and physically loud voices both for and against its existence even years after it has very clearly ended.

Then, Gunn posted a picture with Snyder to his X account.

Naturally, the internet exploded. What could Zack Snyder and James Gunn possibly be doing together? Are they working on a partnership? Is Snyder directing a new movie? Is the whole SnyderVerse returning? The duo, of course, knew exactly what they were doing. Gunn even said so in an interview with ScreenRant.

“I was just talking to Zack as a friend, so we were just hanging out and then we're like, 'Let's take a picture together.' We knew full well what we were doing... We thought it was funny. He thought it was funny, I thought it was funny. And that's it.”

Basically, they were trolling all of us. However, like everyone else,...

One Oscar-Winning Invincible Actor Was Recast And Fans Totally Missed It
Image
"Invincible" has the most star-studded voice cast you're likely to find anywhere on an American animated TV show. From its leading trio of Steven Yeun, Sandra Oh, and J.K. Simmons to supporting stars like Gillian Jacobs, Walton Goggins, Sterling K. Brown, Peter Cullen, and others, it's hard to keep track of the many award-winning performers who've lent their vocal talents to the Amazon series. Perhaps that's why many viewers didn't notice that Mahershala Ali was recast for the show's third season, with Todd Williams taking over the role of Titan.

In fairness, Titan was entirely absent from "Invincible" season 2, leaving a few years for fans to forget his exact voice. And to his credit, Williams does a great job with the character in season 3. A sympathetic henchman and occasional vigilante early on, Titan is kind of a blend of Marvel's The Thing and Luke Cage. He sets himself up as...

“I think fans were more sick of it than I was”: Even Candice Patton Admitted She Hated One Bloodcurdling Fact About Iris in The Flash
Image
Actress Candice Patton is known for playing Iris West in The Flash, starring Grant Gustin in the lead role. Patton’s character serves as the primary love interest for the titular superhero. Iris was an important part of the show’s DNA, especially during its earlier seasons. As a result, it was frustrating that the character was relegated to a frustrating subplot.

In the show’s earlier seasons, Iris is unaware of Barry Allen’s secret identity as the Flash. As a result, many fans disliked this aspect of the character’s storyline. However, Patton admitted in an interview that she was equally frustrated by the subplot and was happy to see it resolved by the end of season 2. Here is what Patton had to say about the annoying Iris subplot in The Flash.

Peacemaker Season 2 Official Image Reveals The Return Of A Fan-Favourite The Suicide Squad Character
Image
Peacemaker season 2 is set to premiere on HBO and Max this August and creator James Gunn has just dropped a first official look at Steve Agee as the returning John Economos.

Introduced in 2021's The Suicide Squad, the character has become a firm fan favourite and, after taking on a key supporting role in Peacemaker's first season, made his Dcu debut in Creature Commandos last year. As Amanda Waller's right-hand man, it's unclear what he'll bring to the table when this show returns, especially as Rick Flag Sr. is expected to be calling the shots in A.R.G.U.S.

This is only the second official image from Peacemaker season 2 after Gunn previously teased a mysterious new villain (we've included that at the bottom of this post). DC Stduios has yet to share anything showing Christopher Smith in action, though promo art revealed the anti-hero's new helmet design last year.

When Jennifer Lawrence Sent A Hacker To Prison For Leaking Her N*des, Proving She’s Simply Fierce
Image
Did Jennifer Lawrence send a hacker to prison? (Photo Credit – Instagram)

Jennifer Lawrence had already carved a name as a fierce advocate for equal pay and women’s rights by 2017; her crusade had clinched a $20 million payday for Passengers, dwarfing her co-star and a much older male actor Chris Pratt’s $12 million despite. That triumph had introduced Hollywood to her mettle, yet her resolve soon went on to stretch beyond civil victories and plunged into the criminal fray.

Giving rise to a dark Hollywood saga of lecherous misconducts, a cataclysmic breach had struck the industry in 2014 — n*de photos of Lawrence and other female stars had surfaced online, pilfered from private iCloud accounts. Though, without flinching, The Hunger Games star exhibited a fierce hunger for justice as she became the voice of reckoning and demanded stricter laws. And her outrage successfully illuminated the grim underbelly of celebrity privacy.

When Dave Bautista Rejected Fast & Furious For A Dream Role—The Bold Move That Redefined His Career

Dave Bautista’s Bold Choice (Photo Credit – Instagram)

Dave Bautista could have been racing alongside Vin Diesel, dodging explosions, and cashing in on a billion-dollar franchise. Instead, he pumped the brakes on Fast & Furious — all because he had his sights set on something far more brutal: Gears of War.

Most actors would jump at the chance to join Universal’s money-printing machine. Not Bautista. In an interview with Collider, he recalled how he walked into a meeting, listened to the pitch for Fast & Furious, and then did something most wouldn’t dare.

“They wanted to talk to me about Fast & Furious, and I said, ‘I’m not interested, let’s talk about [Gears of War character] Marcus Fenix.’”

Why André The Giant’s Legendary Mid-Flight Poo Had Passengers Gagging—Here’s The Wild Story
Image
André The Giant’s In-Flight Chaos (Photo Credit – Instagram)

André the Giant was larger than life in every way. The wrestling legend left behind stories that are almost too insane to believe. But few top the time, he turned a plane cabin into an airborne gas chamber.

Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake dropped the details during an interview on Wrestling Shoot Interviews, and it’s pure chaos. The short version? André had no choice but to relieve himself mid-flight. The long version? A garbage bag, a curtain, and a lot of traumatized passengers.

At over 600 pounds, André couldn’t exactly squeeze into a standard airplane bathroom. Usually, he planned ahead, but a packed schedule in Tokyo left no time for pit stops. By the time he boarded, there was no holding it in.

What Did The Flash Director Say About CGI Issues In Ezra Miller’s Film? (Photo Credit – Wikimedia)

Love it or hate it, The Flash’s CGI wasn’t an accident. Director Andy Muschietti once insisted the film’s “weird” visuals were a deliberate creative choice, especially in the much-talked-about Speed Force and Chronobowl sequences. “We are in the perspective of the Flash. Everything is distorted in terms of lights and textures. We enter this ‘waterworld,’ which is basically being in Barry’s Pov,” Muschietti explained in an interview with Gizmodo.

“It was part of the design, so if it looks a little weird to you, that was intended,” he added. One of the most criticized moments occurs early in the film. Barry (Ezra Miller) races to save Gotham City Hospital’s collapsing nursery, where babies and a midwife are in danger. Instead of a heart-pounding rescue, audiences are met with visuals that look…...

“This was more important than saving my career”: You Can Love Zack Snyder but Zachary Levi Maybe His Worst Addition to a Problematic Dceu Cast
Image
Zack Snyder has been immortalized in the eyes of DC fans. Spending years building some very iconic projects, he will never be forgotten even though the franchise is moving on to a different phase. While there is no denying that his Dceu was beloved for many reasons, some research showcases that his pick in the cast doesn’t seem to have a very good public image.

While many actors have skeletons in their closets, the entire Justice League has been involved in some or the other controversy at some point in their careers, which is quite concerning. However, where others are in the clear now, Zachary Levi’s dance with getting himself canceled seems to be never-ending.

The Flash Art Imagines Glen Powell as the Dcu's Scarlet Speedster
Image
James Gunn hasn't announced plans yet for The Flash in the DC Universe. However, that hasn't stopped fans from imagining certain actors in the role of the Scarlet Speedster, such as Twisters star Glen Powell.

Digital artist John Regan recently shared some artwork on Instagramimagining Powell as Barry Allen/The Flash, wearing a suit reminiscent of the one Grant Gustin wore during the later seasons of The CW's The Flash. After breaking out in 2022 with a supporting role in Top Gun: Maverick, Powell quickly became a favorite within the fan-casting community, with fans picturing him as everyone from DC superheroes Green Lantern and Batman to Marvel heavy hitters like Nova and Cyclops. However, the Barry Allen version of The Flash is possibly the superhero that fans want to see Powell play on the big screen the most, with fellow DC hero Booster Gold — who is confirmed to be getting his...

This Flash Actor Grant Gustin Remains Open to Returning as Barry Allen, But With 1 Caveat
Image
When Zack Snyder set up the Dceu with Man of Steel back in 2012, the question was asked: who would play the rest of the Justice League members alongside Henry Cavill? Ezra Miller was later cast as The Flash, but after controversy, the actor is not expected to reprise the role in the Dcu.

Whilst certain Dceu actors have made clear they expect to be cast in other DC roles, and later would be in Gunn's Dcu, Miller will probably not return. Miller's 2023 movie was not successful, but Grant Gustin found success as the star of the Arrowverse series. Neither are slated to appear as the speedster in the Dcu, though Gustin is open to re-playing the role (per ComicBook).

Grant Gustin Says Yes to Return as The Flash After Ezra Miller’s $200 Million Disaster
Image
Grant Gustin played Barry Allen for nine impressive seasons of the CW series, The Flash, which concluded in May 2023. For most of its run, the series garnered positive feedback from the viewers, who praised the lead actor and the entire Team Flash for their performances. When asked if he would return for a mini-series revival of The Flash, Gustin replied that he would definitely consider it.

For some fans, Gustin’s Barry Allen is the best live-action Flash in the DC Universe. Even Snyder cultists found it hard to root for Ezra Miller when comparisons were drawn between Miller’s and Gustin’s performances. Fans would love to see Gustin return in a revival or as the new Flash in James Gunn’s Dcu.

Forget The Flash, WB Scrapping a Game on DC’s Perfect Doctor Strange Rival Superhero Is Why I’m Pissed
Image
The gaming industry is in a rough spot, but there are some studios, I believe, that are doing worse than others. One of the biggest examples of this is Warner Bros., which has had tons of failures in the gaming landscape over the last couple of years.

Warner Bros. gaming arm has been facing a downward spiral. (Image via Rocksteady Studios.)

Reports suggest that Warner Bros. was working on The Flash game. While that might make sense considering the failure of the movie starring Ezra Miller, I can’t understand why Warner Bros canceled a full-fledged game based on John Constantine. Seriously, this guy had all the potential to counter to Marvel’s Doctor Strange.

Wonder Woman Video Game Still "Years From Release;" The Flash Game Reportedly Scrapped After Movie Bombed
Image
First announced back in 2021, official updates on Warner Bros. Games and Monolith Productions' (Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and its sequel Middle-earth: Shadow of War) open world Wonder Woman game have been few and far between, and we may now know why.

According to a new report from Bloomberg, the game was heavily rebooted during production last year, and has already cost the studio over $100 million. The title is still said to be years away from release, “if it ever makes it to market.”

In fact, it sounds like Warner Bros.' entire video game division may be struggling (or even in jeopardy) after Warner Bros. Discovery took $300 million in losses on gaming last year due to a $200 million writedown on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, and $100 million writedown on Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions and the fighting game MultiVersus.

The report also mentions that games based on Constantine and The Flash...

Invincible Season 3, Episode 2 Pays Homage To The Show's Biggest Twist
Image
The following contains spoilers for "Invincible" Season 3, Episodes 2 and 3.

Following the gob-smacking events of "Invincible" Season 2, one of the best animated shows currently streaming is back for a third chapter in its signature blood-splattering fashion. After discovering that Cecil (Walton Goggins) has an army of ReAnimen at his disposal, Mark (Steven Yeun) quickly severs ties with his employer, though not before shredding Cecil's mindless drones like tissue paper first. Fueled by his anger and a desire to confront the Global Defense Agency director, Mark's actions serve as a violent, visceral, and explosive display of his power. His behavior is also unsettling for all who bear witness, echoing one of the most infamous and disturbing moments in the history of the "Invincible" universe.

Mark had already pummeled a wave of Cecil's undead army in his secret White Room, but after Rudy (Zachary Quinto/Ross Marquand) manages to switch off his implant,...

CW 'Flash' Star Reveals Honest Take on Controversial Ezra Miller Movie
Image
One of the stars of The Flash, the beloved TV series from The CW, has shared his honest review of Ezra Miller's controversial 2023 The Flash movie. Tom Cavanagh, who fans of The Flash series will recognize as the Reverse Flash, recently appeared at a convention, where he had a thoughtful take on the Warner Bros. film.

Heroic Hollywood reports that while answering questions at Fan Expo in Portland, Cavanagh spoke candidly, having now seen the infamous movie. While admitting how protective he is of Grant Gustin's The Flash, who starred in the TV series, Cavanagh had a surprisingly high opinion of Miller's performance in the film. He noted the differences in character interpretation, saying,

"They played him like they took the Iq level down, and I thought that was good. No, but they did it purposely, and I think that's going to make The Flash more innocent and different.

One of the most divisive movies in the entire Dceu is now available to stream for free, as 2017's Justice League joins Tubi's content library. During the mid-late 2010s, Warner Bros. and Marvel Studios were locked in a battle for the best cinematic shared universe. While the MCU was the clear favorite, the Dceu didn't back down, rushing head first to establish the Justice League on the big screen. “I just don’t have to do that”: The Flash Didn’t Make Grant Gustin Do the One Thing Stephen Amell Was Forced To Do For Every Single ‘Arrow’ Episode
Image
Actor Grant Gustin is the face most synonymous with the role of the Flash, appearing as the Barry Allen iteration of the DC Comics speedster in The CW’s The Flash. The series started as a spin-off of the network’s other popular DC series Arrow, starring Stephen Amell, which saw the lead star undertake a rigorous training route.

However, Gustin revealed that his training regime was drastically different from Amell’s and was thankful he did not have to follow one habit the latter had to adhere to for his series.
