Fan-favorite filmmaker Andy Muschietti has found his next project. As he waits for DC Studios to lock in a screenplay for The Brave and the Bold, Muschietti has become attached to direct Drift.

Per Deadline, Muschietti will also produce Drift with his sister Barbara Muschietti via their production company Double Dream. Skydance quickly moved to acquire Drift after Muschietti expressed interest in helming the grounded sci-fi project. The project, based on an unpublished 38-page short story by Ben Queen & Jason Shuman, was on the market for less than 24 hours before Skydance snatched it up. Dceu started out as a largely ambitious idea to replicate the success of the rival MCU. Warner Bros. came up with a decade-long plan to bring to the big screen some of the most iconic characters from the DC comic universe.

While the movies were profitable, the audiences disliked Snyder’s darker take on the characters and it was eventually disbanded with Gunn’s newly rebooted Dcu put in place. Grant Gustin, who played Barry Allen in The Flash, recently appeared at Liverpool Comic-Con and spoke about parts of Season 7 that he didn’t enjoy. In a new interview, he said he didn’t like the “Forces” storyline and also had problems with the lightsaber-style fight in the Godspeed arc.

In Season 7, Barry and Iris were shown to have created powerful energy beings called the Forces. These beings were treated like their “children” on the show. Gustin wasn’t a fan of that idea.

“Calling the forces ‘my children’… I tried to talk them out of that,” he said.

The DC Extended Universe ended in 2023 with the sight of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom's Orm eating a cockroach. After a disastrous year for the brand, it almost seemed fitting for it to conclude on such a bum note, but it wasn't all bad for the Dceu.

Ben Affleck is leaving the Batman mask and cloak behind for good. In a cover story interview with GQ, the actor called playing Bruce Wayne for 2017’s Justice League an “excruciating experience” and said he had no interest in the superhero genre at all.

“I am not interested in going down that particular genre again, not because of that bad experience, but just: I’ve lost interest in what was of interest about it to me,” Affleck told the publication. “But I certainly wouldn’t want to replicate an experience like that.

There have been a lot of rough DC Comics movies but which ones are truly the worst of the worst?

DC started early on the superhero movie trend with 1978’s Superman and later 1989’s Batman. However, despite successes like Wonder Woman and Aquaman, the Dceu faltered compared to the MCU. Somehow, Warner Bros and DC couldn’t make it all work right and it all came to a lame ending.

There have been some pretty poor to outright bad movies based on DC Comics such as Batman v Superman or The Flash. However, there are several films that stand out for how truly awful they are and leave us thinking they shouldn't have happened. They waste great casts and story potential while also being just flat-out terrible movies.

Here are how the ten worst DC Comics movies rank and marvel (no pun intended) on how badly they botched these characters.

A stellar ensemble cast includes Michael Angarano, Nicholas Braun, Tye Sheridan, Ezra Miller and Olivia Thirlby as Alvarez deliberately paces the frighteningly real-life story. However, the performances of Miller and Angarano stand out as they become the de facto alphas of the two separate groups of guards and prisoners to see the effect that harsh oppression has on the human's sense of self. Zimbardo intended to strip these young men's individuality away and see what would happen.

Peacemaker season 2 is set to premiere on HBO and Max this August and creator James Gunn has just dropped a first official look at Steve Agee as the returning John Economos.

Introduced in 2021's The Suicide Squad, the character has become a firm fan favourite and, after taking on a key supporting role in Peacemaker's first season, made his Dcu debut in Creature Commandos last year. As Amanda Waller's right-hand man, it's unclear what he'll bring to the table when this show returns, especially as Rick Flag Sr. is expected to be calling the shots in A.R.G.U.S.

This is only the second official image from Peacemaker season 2 after Gunn previously teased a mysterious new villain (we've included that at the bottom of this post). Zack Snyder has been immortalized in the eyes of DC fans. Spending years building some very iconic projects, he will never be forgotten even though the franchise is moving on to a different phase. While there is no denying that his Dceu was beloved for many reasons, some research showcases that his pick in the cast doesn’t seem to have a very good public image.

When Zack Snyder set up the Dceu with Man of Steel back in 2012, the question was asked: who would play the rest of the Justice League members alongside Henry Cavill? Ezra Miller was later cast as The Flash, but after controversy, the actor is not expected to reprise the role in the Dcu.

Whilst certain Dceu actors have made clear they expect to be cast in other DC roles, and later would be in Gunn's Dcu, Miller will probably not return. Miller's 2023 movie was not successful, but Grant Gustin found success as the star of the Arrowverse series. Neither are slated to appear as the speedster in the Dcu, though Gustin is open to re-playing the role (per ComicBook).

Grant Gustin played Barry Allen for nine impressive seasons of the CW series, The Flash, which concluded in May 2023. For most of its run, the series garnered positive feedback from the viewers, who praised the lead actor and the entire Team Flash for their performances. When asked if he would return for a mini-series revival of The Flash, Gustin replied that he would definitely consider it.

For some fans, Gustin’s Barry Allen is the best live-action Flash in the DC Universe. The gaming industry is in a rough spot, but there are some studios, I believe, that are doing worse than others. One of the biggest examples of this is Warner Bros., which has had tons of failures in the gaming landscape over the last couple of years.

While that might make sense considering the failure of the movie starring Ezra Miller, I can’t understand why Warner Bros canceled a full-fledged game based on John Constantine. Seriously, this guy had all the potential to counter to Marvel’s Doctor Strange.

Recently, Bloomberg‘s Jason Schreier shed some light on what’s been going on behind the scenes at Warner Bros.

First announced back in 2021, official updates on Warner Bros. Games and Monolith Productions' (Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and its sequel Middle-earth: Shadow of War) open world Wonder Woman game have been few and far between, and we may now know why.

According to a new report from Bloomberg, the game was heavily rebooted during production last year, and has already cost the studio over $100 million. The title is still said to be years away from release, “if it ever makes it to market.”

In fact, it sounds like Warner Bros.' entire video game division may be struggling (or even in jeopardy) after Warner Bros. Discovery took $300 million in losses on gaming last year due to a $200 million writedown on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, and $100 million writedown on Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions and the fighting game MultiVersus.

One of the stars of The Flash, the beloved TV series from The CW, has shared his honest review of Ezra Miller's controversial 2023 The Flash movie. Tom Cavanagh, who fans of The Flash series will recognize as the Reverse Flash, recently appeared at a convention, where he had a thoughtful take on the Warner Bros. film.

Heroic Hollywood reports that while answering questions at Fan Expo in Portland, Cavanagh spoke candidly, having now seen the infamous movie. While admitting how protective he is of Grant Gustin's The Flash, who starred in the TV series, Cavanagh had a surprisingly high opinion of Miller's performance in the film. He noted the differences in character interpretation, saying,

"They played him like they took the Iq level down, and I thought that was good. No, but they did it purposely, and I think that's going to make The Flash more innocent and different.
