Sky Vega is an award nominated Special FX Makeup Artist, entrepreneur
and all around creative entity based out of New York City.
She has been credited with working on a slew of celebrities from Dr. Oz to "Weird Al" Yankovic and her work has been seen in many publications with creative costuming for singer P!nk's red carpet appearances at the Bette Midler annual Hulaween ball and Heidi Klum's party to media coverage of various Issabella Rossalini productions for Green Porno and Animals Distract Me.
She is a graduate of the South African School of Art, Dance, Drama and Music, where she studied on an art scholarship; with a four-year intensive and comprehensive fine and commercial arts curriculum.
Studying aesthetics and cinematography at the University of Art & Design in Greece, A.K.T.O.,(a college affiliated to Middlesex University, London), she majored in Computer Graphic Animation and Multimedia.
She has also completed the Special FX Makeup course at the School of Visual Arts in NYC.
Additionally she has also completed the "Lab skills" oriented Makeup-Up Effects 301 course at the Makeup Designory, M.U.D. NYC.
Sky offers occasional special effects makeup workshops at Abracadabra superstore NYC where she also retails her own line of prosthetic makeup products.
Expanding her creative output, Sky has presented her SFX workshop at the Broadway Fantasy Camp and has, since graduating, been an invited guest speaker at the Makeup Designory.
In the fine arts arena, Sky founded her creative company Pittaway Art in 2010, which acts as the retail portal for the Sky Vega Special Effects Makeup product line and her other artistic endeavors.
As a versatile fine artist, by the age of 19 she held her first solo exhibition at the Pensioners Society of Greece and went on to exhibit several venues worldwide. Among other outlets, the Ecology channel on Greek TV has featured Sky and her artwork of signature abstracts, figure studies and collages.
Musically, Sky has studied guitar at the Daphni Odeo of Music and has taken private vocal lessons during her extensive music career.
She is a published musician and as an A.S.C.A.P. member, she produces her own music from her studio in Brooklyn, NY.
Sky continues to showcase her varied artistic abilities professionally through all her creative businesses and the latest addition to the Sky Vega brand is her line of children's books.
