Quinta Brunson is about to join a rare group that only includes Queen Latifah and Maya Rudolph.

On May 3, the two-time Emmy winner for Abbott Elementary will host Saturday Night Live for the second time in her career. Only two Black women have ever hosted SNL multiple times: Latifah in 2003 and 2004, and Rudolph in 2012, 2021, and 2024.

The first time Brunson emceed NBC's late night program in April 2023, she went viral for the "Bosses" sketch in which she and Sarah Sherman played bald, chauvinistic male executives who acted inappropriately toward a new female employee (Chloe Fineman). Brunson's character was obsessed with Fineman's "big old buttered yams," proclaiming, "What I wouldn't do to jump off a diving board and cannonball into that cleavage. Help, I'm drowning! But don't save me — I want to die in there."

Alice Tan Ridley, the mother of Precious and American Horror Story actor Gabourey Sidibe and a singer who performed for several decades in New York City subway stations, Harlem’s Cotton Club and other venues before finding national fame on America’s Got Talent in her late 50s, has died in New York. She was 72.

Her March 25 death was announced by her family. A cause was not stated.

Born Alice Ann Ridley on December 21, 1952, in what then was called Charles Junction (now Lumpkin), Georgia, Ridley was the seventh of eight children, and in 1971 moved to New York to teach special-needs children. Called Tan by family and friends, for years she sang with family members, including brother Melton Lee Ridley Jr., but only turned her focus to a music career in 1992, when she began busking in the subways, singing full time in the Union Square, 34th Street and Times Square stations.

It comes as the parent company has rebranded as A+E Global Media ahead of its annual Upfront.

Storage Wars is back for its 16th season. The show, which aired Season 15 in 2023, will expand from its traditional half-hours to a one-hour format. The ten-part series, which will air this summer, features teams of bidders on the hunt for valuable abandoned and repossessed storage units and with only a few minutes to see inside, they must decide whether they’ve spotted trash or true treasure that they can turn into big profits. A+E Networks is rebranding to A+E Global Media and renaming its ad sales division to A+E Media Solutions, signaling the company aims to expand its scope beyond cable TV ahead of its annual upfront presentation to advertisers Wednesday.

Ad sales executive vice president Toby Byrne told TheWrap the name changes are a “better reflection of who we are as a company now and who we’re going to be going forward.”

Actor Johnny Knoxville has been hit with a $3 million lawsuit following accusations he attacked a “Prank Panel” segment producer, TheWrap has learned.

Daniel Curry – who also served as a creative consultant on ABC’s “The Prank Panel” – accused Knoxville of workplace harassment in his Thursday filing. The plaintiff also cited production houses ITV America and Kimmelot in the lawsuit.

Per court documents obtained by TheWrap, Knoxville allegedly entered video village and began harassing Curry with a taser while Curry fled, while still less than one week on the job. Curry says he was tased in the side while he and Knoxville were at a full run, which led to severe injuries when his body locked up and he fell. The documents state Curry broke his fibula and tore the ankle ligament in his right leg.

Rebel Wilson is naming Sacha Baron Cohen as a previously unidentified Hollywood star who allegedly threatened her with legal action to try to block her memoir.

In a post on social media, Wilson called out the Borat actor as the “a**hole” she wrote about in her book.

“I will not be bullied or silenced by high priced lawyers or PR crisis managers,” read the statement on Wilson’s Instagram Stories.

She continued, “The a**hole that I am talking about in One Chapter of my book is: Sacha Baron Cohen.”

A representative for Cohen said in a statement to Deadline, “While we appreciate the importance of speaking out, these demonstrably false claims are directly contradicted by extensive detailed evidence, including contemporaneous documents, film footage, and eyewitness accounts from those present before, during and after the production of The Brothers Grimsby.”

Diaz plays a woman tied to a bed while her captor manipulates her into believing they are engaged. The mysterious men in her life are played by Rich Morrow and DeRon Cash, while Efrangeliz Medina, Dean Wil, Herbert Morales and Del Harrison round out the ensemble.
