In the latest animated tale from the directing team of Rob Edwards and Christopher Jenkins, a familiar yet fun world is revealed. The all-star Sneaks features the vocal talents of Anthony Mackie, Laurence Fishburne, Keith David, Macy Gray, Martin Lawrence, Rico Rodriguez, and many more. It tells the story of two designer sneakers that get separated after a creepy collector (Fishburne) steals them from a young man who won them. It’s a sweet and humorous look at friendship, separation, and sneakers.
We recently spoke to several of the cast members, and it was quite the treat. First up, I spoke with Anthony Mackie, and he really is one of the nicest guys around. He opened up about his first pair of sneakers. As well as taking a break from superheroes for this animated adventure. After that, I spoke with Rico Rodriquez, who took a liking to my Funko Pops collection.

The same was true for Sarah Hyland as well, whose romance with fellow actor Matthew Prokop took a very drastic turn.

The Office and Modern Family will forever remain two of the most iconic comedy shows of all time. There’s an old adage that goes, “You can’t unring a bell,” and when it comes to certain storylines on television, sometimes it feels like there’s no turning back after that bell tolls. It seemed like a slam dunk, right? It had everything: quirky characters, snappy one-liners, and an irreverent look at family dynamics.

What is most impressive about Brown’s career is that she hasn’t appeared in many TV shows or movies in her young career, but most of the young star’s appearances have been massive releases. Born in Spain, she made her debut in the Once Upon a Time spinoff Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, where she played young Alice. She then had several small roles in episodes of popular TV shows before finally getting her big break.
That came in 2016 when she picked up the role of Eleven in Stranger Things. Brown was only 12 years old when she started playing Eleven, but she became one of the top names on the Netflix fantasy series, and that role made her a star. She moved on to another giant franchise on the big screen...

Modern Family is one of the most beloved modern sitcoms, lasting eleven seasons. The series, centered on a multicultural family, became a major hit in the 2010s and remains popular today, primarily because of the cast’s performances. However, the series almost did not materialize in its current form because of one obstacle the creators felt would be hard to overcome.

According to creators Christopher Lloyd and Steven Levitan, they contemplated turning the sitcom into an animated show. The creators admitted that they were concerned about one aspect that was hard to nail until they made a breakthrough and never looked back. Jesse Tyler Ferguson became well-known for his Emmy-nominated performance as Mitchell Pritchett on Modern Family, and recently shared a touching memory of the late Matthew Perry in an episode of his Podcast Dinner's On Me. The podcast episode, which featured Friends star Lisa Kudrow, briefly touched on Perry, with Ferguson sharing an anecdote from the early days of his career. Highlighting Perry's inherent kindness and charm, Ferguson described an anxiety-filled moment on set before Perry helped to soothe his nerves.
Ferguson recalled his experience filming the sitcom The Class in 2006, in which the taping of the episode he was in that day was a more stressful environment than usual. The Modern Family actor described that Perry's visit to the set happened when Ferguson was struggling with the pressure of landing a joke almost perfectly, with the actor saying:

After more than 15 years, Judy Greer is reflecting on her decision not to audition for Modern Family.
The actress recently noted that she “didn’t even want kids” at the time, so the opportunity to play mom Claire Dunphy (which ultimately went to Julie Bowen) on the ABC sitcom and become “America’s mom” wasn’t appealing to her.
“This was a time in my career when I was starting to [play moms],” she told Bowen’s co-star Jesse Tyler Ferguson on his Dinner’s On Me podcast.
“It sounds so silly to say it out loud now, but I’ll be honest. In a movie, I would have a kid. And then there was this opportunity to audition where I would have three kids, one of them in high school,” added Greer. “And on a TV show… and you do have to think of these things in success, and obviously Modern Family was a huge success.

Modern Family was a sitcom game-changer which embraced a broader concept of family. While the show was a massive hit with fans during its 11 season run, Julie Bowen didn't think she had what it took to land the role of Claire Dunphy.
During an appearance on The Three Questions with Andy Richter Podcast, Bowen recalled how baffled she was when her agents mentioned Modern Family. "I was like, 'I can't tell a joke, I'm not funny, don't give me those three-jokes-a-page kind of things," she said before explain that her team had more faith in her ability than she did. "My managers were always very supportive, like, 'You know what? Helen Hunt isn't funny.' I go, 'What?' They're like, 'Not technically.' [So] I said, 'She just won like five Emmys.' They're like, 'Yes. So she's funny in a different way. She's not three-jokes-a-page funny. And yet she is wildly funny.

Four years after the end of Modern Family on ABC, actor Eric Stonestreet is reflecting on the spinoff that didn't come to be. While Stonestreet was hoping to co-star in a spinoff alongside Jesse Tyler Ferguson which would have followed Cam and Mitch, the series was passed on by the network.
Per Deadline, Stonestreet discussed his desired Modern Family spinoff during an interview with Graham Bensinger. The actor recalled how there were plans to potentially develop a Cam and Mitch spinoff starting with a pilot script Stonestreet felt was really strong. Ultimately, the series was not picked up, a decision that Stonestreet suggested could be due to the perception that he and Ferguson were "the old guys," and thus undeserving of their own spinoff.

Every actor, even the ones who go on to become the biggest stars in the world, has to start somewhere. Breaking into the world of Hollywood is a truly difficult business, and it involves taking tiny roles that audiences aren't supposed to remember.
There's been many a time when someone has been watching an old TV show or movie and suddenly spotted a familiar face. It's always good to see an actor be appreciated for all their hard work trying to make it to the top.

In a way, I’m relieved.
Reboots of all-time classics, of which “Modern Family” in the sitcom genre absolutely qualifies, are terrifying. The only thing they can really do is taint the reputation of the original.
On the other hand: what a disappointment.
“Modern Family” stars Ty Burrell, Julie Bowen, Eric Stonestreet, and Jesse Tyler Ferguson have indeed reunited as their characters Phil and Claire Dunphy, Mitchell Pritchett, and Cameron Tucker on their ABC set — for a WhatsApp commercial. Because of course it was.
To be fair, the concept of the ad makes good sense in the “Modern Family” universe: Phil, Claire, and Cam are sharing photos of Haley’s twins in the family group chat. Phil blows the secret that it’s a different family group chat, drawing looks from Claire and Cam.
Mitchell is not in that one, and it is no oversight. The problem is his new...

Another Modern Family alum has expressed interest in a revival project. Sarah Hyland, who portrayed Haley Dunphy, recently revealed one condition that would need to be met before she would consider returning for a reboot of the beloved ABC sitcom.
Speaking with People at the 2024 Drama Desk Awards, Hyland shared that she "would want to see a script first" before signing on for a Modern Family reunion project. "I think creatively for me, I would want to know what was going on with Haley. I want to see her career back and stuff and her creativity and I want her to be able to do both," she added. "[I want to see Haley] do what [her mom] Claire [Dunphy] then set out to do and did as an amazing mother as well as businesswoman and CEO. And I would really love to see that creative side back for Haley. So yeah, I don't know."
