Shane Emmett is an award winning actor. But who isn't right? Sure he has recently worked opposite Nicole Kidman in 'Nine Perfect Strangers' and Deborah Mailman in 'Total Control', and over the years has played roles such as Canberra Newspaper magnate 'Max Newton in 'Power Games', home-wrecker, 'Mark Gilmour' in 'Home and Away', Oncologist 'Dr Patrick' on 'Offspring' and nightclub manager 'Clayton Timms' in the Universal series 'Precinct 13'. Sure he has shared the stage with some of the biggest names in Australian theatre, sings like a bird and expertly moves between Irish, Scottish and American accents like a native. But there is far more to this man than thespian thaumaturgy.
He has built two houses with his bare hands for instance, raised three beautiful daughters, wrote and performed a one man stage show 'From Here to Eternity;, published a young adult fiction series 'Obscura', created an award winning feature documentary in 2020 'Lost in the Crowd' and continues to sing cabaret shows to packed out theatres in weird and wonderful country towns.
As a presenter he has worked extensively on live television and interviewed actors such as Jason Bateman and Kristen Bell and conversely as an actor has been interviewed by personalities such as Ronan Keating, Adam Hills and Larry Emdur. He has won international awards such as Tropfest New York, Edinburgh International FF and Inside Film, winning Best International Actor at the Belgium Move Me FF in 2019 and has received awards from Hollywood royalty such as Julianne Moore and Billy Cruddup who clearly think he is pretty good, that he is the most interesting guy in the room.
Well he is.
