Isabelle Fuhrman didn’t hold back when talking about Horizon, and in doing so, she might’ve just exposed Kevin Costner’s biggest misstep. The Orphan star got real about feeling totally lost on set, admitting she was “in the same boat” as a bunch of confused castmates. Orphan 3 received an update from Esther/Leena star Isabelle Fuhrman. Following up on playing a middle-aged killer impersonating a 10-year-old in the 2009 cult horror movie Orphan, Fuhrman reprised her role as the titular con artist in a prequel titled Orphan: First Kill in 2022. In 2024, Lionsgate officially greenlit a threequel from writer David Coggeshall and director William Brent Bell.

In an interview with ScreenRant, Isabelle Fuhrman teased details about Orphan 3's script and offered a small update. According to one star of the movie, despite several premieres and tentative dates for its release, the future of Horizon looks bleak and stuck in hostile territory.

Kevin Costner’s future seemed to be incredibly straightforward and certain a few years ago. He was the lead character in the mighty Yellowstone, and then he had this huge, ambitious Western project of his own bubbling away in the background. Then he decided that the movie saga that would become Horizon could not wait any longer, which led to him departing Taylor Sheridan’s hit series under a cloud and Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1 hitting theaters in 2024, with the second part expected to follow a couple of months later.

While Kevin Costner had high hopes for Horizon: An American Saga - Chapter 2, its release future remains in doubt. The upcoming Horizon sequel has already been screened to critics at international film festivals, but general audiences have not yet had the chance to see it. The delay stems from Chapter 1's struggles at the box office after it earned under $40 million against a $50 million budget. The sequel was largely completed when the first movie was released, and it was expected to debut just two months later. After the disappointing returns, however,Chapter 2 was indefinitely delayed.

In an interview with ScreenRant's Grant Hermanns about her thriller, Unit 234, Isabelle Fuhrman (Diamond) admitted that she remains unsure of Horizon's future. Filmmaker Catherine Hardwicke is underway in Los Angeles on Street Smart, an indie drama said to mark a return to the gritty, immersive storytelling of her films Lords of Dogtown and Thirteen. Catherine Hardwicke is returning to her Dogtown roots for her latest directorial effort, “Street Smart,” which centers on a group of unhoused young adults in the iconic Southern California beach town of Venice.

Hardwicke co-wrote the drama with New York Times best-selling author and screenwriter Nic Sheff, which is said to offer a “gripping” look into the lives of the lively group who “come together with humor and a bit of Robin Hood-style larceny, forging unbreakable bonds and redefining what it means to be a family.”

The stellar ensemble cast includes Isabelle Fuhrman, Yara Shahidi, Michael Cimino, Daniel Zovatto, Kaitlyn Kemp, Miles McKenna and pro skateboarder Isiah Hilt.

“In the wake of the recent tragedies that have profoundly impacted Los Angeles and the Hollywood community, we feel incredibly fortunate to be working in L.A.,” Hardwicke said in a statement announcing the production start. (Principal photography began on Jan. 27 in Los Angeles.

Rod Blackhurst directed many short films and some music videos before he made his feature directorial debut with the post-apocalyptic horror film Here Alone. Since then, he has worked on Amanda Knox and John Wayne Gacy documentaries, as well as the Will Smith series Welcome to Earth, and directed the crime thriller Blood for Dust. Now, Variety reports that he’s moving ahead with a dystopian creature feature called Die by Night, and he has gathered a cast for the film that includes Isabelle Fuhrman of the Orphan franchise, Ben Hardy (Bohemian Rhapsody), and Scoot McNairy (Nightbitch).

Blackhurst is set to direct Die by Night from a screenplay he wrote himself, with Variety noting that the script is based on a prequel screenplay he wrote with J. Hunter Richardson that’s called The Chosen Few. So if Die by Night is successful, maybe we’ll see Blackhurst make the prequel The Chosen Few as well.

While we wait for Orphan 3, which was officially announced last November, franchise star Isabelle Fuhrman has set up her next project. Fuhrman will star in the thriller Die by Night.

Variety details this afternoon that Ben Hardy and Scoot McNairy will also star in the dystopian movie.

The outlet also reports, “The feature is being launched by Protagonist Pictures ahead of the upcoming EFM in Berlin. Protagonist is handling international sales while UTA Independent Film Group is representing North American rights.”

Die by Night is set over the course of one night in a world where “the only way to survive to see a new day is to trust each other and stay in the light until you make it to The Wall.”

Another beloved horror franchise was born late last year when Lionsgate announced that a third Orphan film was in the works. The premiere of Horizon: An American Saga - Chapter 2 comes as the latest addition to the Santa Barbara International Film Festival lineup, and will feature a Q&a session with Costner after the screening. It will be preceded by a free screening of Horizon: An American Saga - Chapter 1.

Anyone who was around cinema in the early 2000s saw Julia Stiles take the romantic comedy genre by storm. 10 Things I Hate About You and Save The Last Dance were staples of any millenial film collection. She always had a certain something that made her stand out from other leads at the time. So it’s exciting to see her now take the directing route, as she embarks on this new path. A first film is tough, as it can really shape how an audience sees the types of films you’re wanting to make. And while I wasn’t a massive fan of the film (check out my review Here) there’s still plenty of potential for Stiles behind the camera.

I was able to speak with Stiles about her directorial debut, Wish You Were Here, and why she chose to adapt a novel for her first feature.

Wish You Were Here has joined the ranks of popular book-to-screen adaptations and the list of heartbreaking movies. Based on Renee Carlino's novel of the same name, the film follows Charlotte (portrayed by Isabelle Fuhrman) and Adam (played by Mena Massoud) as they meet and form an intense connection. However, their happily ever after is debunked by Charlotte discovering that Adam has been diagnosed with cancer.

In an interview with Cbr, Fuhrman, Massoud and co-star Gabby Kono (who plays Charlotte's friend Helen in addition to serving as a producer on the film) discuss that gut-wrenching plot point and its importance to the story. Horizon: An American Saga - Chapter 2 may be released in 2025. Isabelle Fuhrman, who stars in the epic Western franchise as Diamond Kittredge, recently offered her best guess as to when the second installment may hit theaters.

Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 2 gets a hopeful release update from Isabelle Fuhrman. The sequel to Kevin Costner's series of epic Western films was originally slated to release on August 16, 2024, before Warner Bros. pulled it from the release calendar. After debuting at the Venice International Film Festival, Horizon: Chapter 2's reviews have been largely negative, which does not bode well after the first movie's poor box office performance and lackluster reception.

While speaking with ScreenRant about her new film Wish You Were Here, Fuhrman shared that she believes Horizon: Chapter 2 will be released soon. She clarified that she has not been told of a confirmed release date and that actors often are not told about such information in advance.
