“Cry Wolf” will also star Eva Melander (“UFO Sweden”) and Henrik Dorsin (“Triangle of Sadness”). It will start filming in in Haparanda, near the border of Finland, in July. Ashton Kutcher is now an entrepreneur, producer and actor but got his start as a model. The That 70s Show alum recalled his male modeling days posing for the Abercrombie & Fitch catalog and said Triangle of Sadness is an “accurate depiction” of what the industry is like.
“If you actually want to see an extraordinarily accurate depiction of what it’s like to be a male model, watch the first 10 minutes of Triangle of Sadness,” he said during an interview with Esquire.
Kutcher continued, “I remember living that scene. The depiction is so accurate, it’s terrifying.”

Editors note: Deadline’s Read the Screenplay series debuts and celebrates the scripts of films that will factor in this year’s movie awards races.
Ruben Östlund’s second Palme d’Or winner, Triangle of Sadness, inherits its name from a witty Swedish saying that describes the wrinkles that form between a person’s eyebrows when they are worried or stressed.
“You get it if you have had a lot of trouble in your life. But you can fix it with Botox in 15 minutes,” Östlund preciously told Deadline of the phrase.
“It’s a term that comes from cosmetic surgery — not plastic surgery, cosmetic surgery — and I thought it was comical. Like, a dark, comical comment about surface and beauty: our obsession with beauty, and our obsession with looks, and our belief that our inner problems will be solved if we construct a great shell around ourselves.”

Hierarchies are inversed, norms are challenged in this interesting and humorous film that does not shy away from commenting on human folly and social norms.
Premise
The fashion celebrity couple and influencers, Carl and Yaya, are invited on a luxury yacht cruise exclusively for the top 0.9 in the wealth hierarchy. Onboard they will meet some interesting characters: Dimitry, the Russian oligarch and his wife Vera, the elderly British couple Clementine and Winston the arms dealer, and the lonely tech billionaire, Jarmo. At the helm of the crew and yacht is the rather unbalanced Captain Smith. What initially appears instagrammable ends catastrophically, leaving the survivors stranded on a desert island and fighting for survival.

Dir: Ruben Östlund. Starring: Harris Dickinson, Charlbi Dean, Dolly de Leon, Zlatko BuriÄ., Henrik Dorsin, Vicki Berlin, Woody Harrelson. 15, 147 minutes.
This year’s Palme d’Or winner, Triangle of Sadness, is a class satire atop a river of vomit and faeces. A handful of the ultra-rich – among them a tech bro, a grenade manufacturer, and a (literal) manure peddler – have sailed off on a luxury cruise aboard a 250m yacht. They expect a captain’s dinner, but the captain himself has remained too drunk to make an appearance until the one day choppy seas are predicted. What happens next is a raging hurricane of bodily functions. A few spittles choked out quietly in the corners of the dining room build up to more thunderous chunks. The torrent calms, only for the guests to realise that the yacht’s plumbing is now unsalvageably backed up.

Charlbi Dean, a young, up-and-coming South African actor who most recently starred in this year’s Palme d’Or winner “Triangle of Sadness,” died Monday in New York from an unexpected illness, Variety has confirmed. She was 32.
Dean also appeared in the DC Comics series “Black Lightning” on The CW. She played the highly skilled assassin Syonide throughout nine episodes over two seasons.
She made her acting debut in the South African film “Spud” in 2010 and returned in the 2013 sequel

"We will clean the sails!" Neon has unveiled the first official trailer for Triangle of Sadness, the latest wacky wild Ruben Östlund comedy straight from the Cannes Film Festival. This won the top prize Palme d'Or at Cannes, the second time Ruben has won following his victory with The Square a few years ago. This time he skewers the rich and wealthy in a comedy about how ridiculous their lives are, focusing mainly on what happens when a group of them spend time on a fancy yacht with a drunken captain. A special cruise for the super-rich flounders thus leaving survivors, including a fashion model celebrity couple, trapped on an island. The ensemble cast features Harris Dickinson, Charlbi Dean, Dolly de Leon, Zlatko Burić, Henrik Dorsin, Vicki Berlin, and Woody Harrelson as the doesn't-give-a-fuck captain. This isn't my favorite Östlund film, but it is absolutely hilarious and there are a...

The Sarajevo Film Festival has set Ruben Östlund’s Triangle Of Sadness as its opening night film for its 28th edition, which kicks off on August 12. The film was the winner of the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival in May.

There’s a reason why Cannes Competition title “Triangle of Sadness” just sold big to Neon after an extended bidding war among A24, Searchlight, and others.
It’s the Scene. After the first screenings at Cannes, audiences came out laughing, and they kept telling people about the Scene. It takes its time. It builds. And builds. It starts on a yacht cruise, during the Captain’s Dinner, as the seas start to roil and exquisite seafood is served to the champagne-sipping black-tie passengers. The waiters lift the gold lids on briny octopus as the cabin starts to tip up and down. Soon a few guests start to feel queasy. One throwing up inspires another. And another. Meanwhile the Marxist captain (Woody Harrelson) engages in a drunken dialectic quote-throwing contest with a Russian oligarch (Zlatko Buric).

Ruben Östlund might like his fish in a barrel but he’s a ruthless shot. Following a Palme d’Or win for The Square, the Swedish filmmaker returns to Cannes in competition, and if the contemporary art scene had taken the brunt of that sometimes brilliant, sometimes baggy film (the rare example of an art satire that actually worked), his latest has both the fashion world and the 1 solidly in its sights. With a title derived from an industry term for the worry lines on a person’s forehead, Triangle of Sadness is a film as vast as the sea itself, Östlund’s first real epic. It is his White Lotus, his “wafer-thin mint,” and his Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie rolled into one: a scatological rinsing of wealth and hubris from a filmmaker who, with each passing effort, only further cements himself as contemporary cinema’s auteur of such things.

After a complicated pandemic-affected shoot, Palme d’Or-winning Swedish filmmaker Ruben Östlund has wrapped his new movie Triangle Of Sadness, a satire set in the world of high fashion.
The project first rolled cameras on February 4 in Sweden, completing its initial 25-day leg as lockdowns were being implemented across Europe. Cast member Woody Harrelson was unable to fly to the Scandi nation until June to shoot his part, while the Greek leg was delayed until late September, when it finally began its nine-week shoot.
Also starring are Harris Dickinson, Charlbi Dean, Vicky Berlin, Dolly De Leon, Zlatko Buric, Iris Berben, Amanda Walker, Oliver Ford Davies, Henrik Dorsin, Jean-Christophe Folly and Sunnyi Melles. Pic follows two models who are invited on a luxury cruise. As the yacht sinks, they are left stranded on a desert island with a group of billionaires and a cleaning lady. In the fight for survival, hierarchy is turned upside-down.

Studiocanal will handle worldwide sales at the Toronto Intl. Film Festival on “The Jonsson Gang” from “Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy” and “Let The Right One In” director Tomas Alfredson.
A reboot of a successful Swedish film series, “The Jonsson Gang” follows a gang gone legit who reunite for one last heist. It stars Henrik Dorsin (“Triangle of Sadness”), Hedda Stiernstedt (“The Restaurant”), David Sundin (“Taskmaster”), Myanna Buring (“Downton Abbey”) and Lena Olin (“Chocolate”).
Alfredson said: “‘The Jonsson Gang’ is based on a film series from the 1980’s that practically every living Swedish person has seen. An international audience mostly knows my work with intimidating vampires and sullen spies, while most of my work has been comedic. After a great deal of acclaim with Let the Right One In and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, about everything that could go wrong did indeed go wrong with Tomas Alfredson’s next project, the puzzling crime drama misfire The Snowman. The Swedish director is now hopefully bouncing back, taking on a comedy with a reboot of Jönssonligan–itself a remake of the Danish series, which followed a group of criminals as they plan a heist.
Titled Se upp för Jönssonligan (which loosely translates to Watch Out for the Jönsson Gang), the film is based on the series, which launched in the early 1980s and went for eight films, with another reboot coming out just three years ago. Ahead of a Christmas release in Sweden, the first trailer has now landed (albeit without subtitles) for what is the fifteenth entry in the series, and it seems like Alfredson is having a great deal of fun.

The Square and Force Majeure writer-director Ruben Ostlund is – quite literally – about to set sail on wild, fashion-world satire Triangle of Sadness. Palme d’Or winner Ostlund will begin the film’s 70-day shoot on February 19 in Sweden and Greece, where cameras will roll on the Adriatic Sea.
Leading cast in the English-language movie will be rising Brit actor Harris Dickinson (The King’s Man), South African actress Charlbi Dean (Black Lightning) and three-time Oscar nominee Woody Harrelson, we can reveal.
The film, which has a brilliantly wicked premise, will follow fashion model couple Carl (Dickinson) and Yaya (Dean) who are invited on a luxury cruise. After two of the greatest films of the century thus far, Let the Right One In and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, there hasn’t been a fall from grace quite like what Tomas Alfredson experienced with The Snowman. Thankfully, his disappointing (to put it mildly) crime thriller didn’t put him in director jail, rather just provided Film Twitter for endless jokes, courtesy of Universal’s marketing. The director has now found his next project, and no, it won’t be another Jo Nesbø adaptation.
Rather, the Swedish director will be taking on a comedy with a reboot of Jönssonligan–itself a remake of the Danish series–which followed a group of criminals, including an explosions expert with alcoholism, as they plan a heist. The series launched in the early 1980s and went for eight films, with another reboot coming out just three years ago. With Alfredson going back to...
