The Horsemen are back — and according to Dave Franco, this next act is the most dazzling yet. Franco, who returns as street magician and sleight-of-hand expert Jack Wilder, recently opened up about reuniting with his longtime co-stars for the long-awaited third installment in the Now You See Me franchise, now officially titled Now You See Me: Now You Don’t. Speaking to Collider's Taylor Gates in a new interview coming later this month for The Studio, Franco hailed the chemistry and the camaraderie that the cast of the franchise shared.
"I've known this cast for nearly 15 years now, and we all genuinely love each other. There's no set that I laugh on more. I just adore these people, and I think the natural camaraderie that we have kind of bleeds through onto the screen, and people can feel how much fun we're having."

For years, all Marvel fans have wanted to see is the X-Men join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That time is almost upon us, as the franchise's Multiverse Saga has opened the door for the Mighty Mutants to make their debut in the MCU, with a movie and some rumored spinoffs potentially on the horizon. Oh yes, it's really quite an exciting time to be an X-Men fan!
The MCU began referencing mutants earlier on in the Multiverse Saga, but the very existence of the multiverse itself allowed for it to pull in previous versions of these iconic characters to bridge the gap until the franchise's own versions made their debut. With that, we have seen the return of Patrick Stewart's Professor Charles Xavier in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness for a cameo appearance and the game-changing debut of Hugh Jackman's Wolverine in Deadpool and Wolverine, officially...

Last night, the news broke that Thunderbolts* director Jake Schreier is in line to helm Marvel Studios' X-Men reboot, and we now have some (rumored) casting updates along with a new name reportedly in the mix to play Jubilee.
Though Schreier is said to be in early talks, the fact that multiple trades ran the story at the same time and reported that the filmmaker recently turned down several high-profile jobs may indicate that it's a done deal. Things could always change, of course, but Jeff Sneider believes that Schreier will ultimately be announced as the director of X-Men.
Sneider is also hearing that Harris Dickinson, Margaret Qualley, and Julia Butters are still on the studio's radar, and believes Alien: Romulus star David Jonsson could be "back in play" for an unknown part.

Marvel is bringing the X-Men back to the big screen, and Jake Schreier, director of Thunderbolts*, is being lined up to make it.
Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts* is largely being seen as a return to form for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s been regaining some positive critical momentum for the series ahead of a crunch period in which it will unleash some of its hugest cinematic properties. Given that decent reviews and decent box office are by no means a given with Marvel anymore, the success of Thunderbolts* comes at a vital time for the company.
As it has frequently done in the past then, speculation is rife that Marvel Studios plans to reward the film’s director, Jake Schreier, by giving him the director’s chair on another team-up movie, but arguably the most famed one in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe: X-Men.

It may have taken the best part of two decades, Disney literally buying 20th Century Fox, and a multiversal team-up between Deadpool and Wolverine, but at long last it seems the X-Men’s arrival into the MCU is within an adamantium claw’s reach. And with production now underway on Avengers: Doomsday as the Multiverse Saga nears its end, it seems Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios already have one eye on their next big move. According to Deadline, Thunderbolts* director Jake Schreier is being eyed to usher in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s new age of mutants.
Having proven himself a dab hand when it comes to putting together a new team of superpowered heroes with the both critically and commercially well received Thunderbolts* (or The New Avengers as it’s being called in some circles), Schreier has emerged as an early frontrunner to helm the MCU’s first X-Men movie.

It looks like Marvel Studios has finally found a director to take the helm of the long-awaited X-Men reboot.
According to Deadline, Marvel is staying in-house for MCU debut of the Children of the Atom, with Thunderbolts* director Jake Schreier in early talks to step behind the camera.
Apparently, early reactions to Thunderbolts* and buzz about the movie being viewed as a return to form for the studio "sealed the deal" for Schreier after months of meetings with potential directors.

An “X-Men” movie at Marvel Studios looks to finally be picking up steam, and Jake Schreier, the director of one of the best-reviewed MCU movies in years “Thunderbolts*,” is in early talks to direct the film, IndieWire has confirmed.
Michael Lesslie, who wrote “The Hunger Games: Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes,” wrote the script for the still-untitled “X-Men” movie. Kevin Feige, per usual, is producing.
Marvel declined to comment.
Since acquiring Fox back in 2017, Marvel has been building slowly towards bringing the X-Men back into the fold of the MCU. They’ve teased mutants in “Ms. Marvel,” and they had a post-credits sequence that teased the “X-Men” at the end of “The Marvels.” After bringing Hugh Jackman back as Wolverine for “Deadpool & Wolverine” last year, Marvel recently announced that the new “Avengers: Doomsday” film would include many of the stars from the original series of “X-Men” films that began...

Nothing is official now, but insiders say Schreier is looking like the top choice after a successful meeting last week. Since Disney officially acquired 20th Century Fox more than five years ago, Marvel fans have been eager for the inevitable day when the X-Men will finally join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. “The New Avengers” director Jake Schreier is in early talks to direct “X-Men,” Marvel Studios introduction of the mutant superhero team in the MCU.
“Hunger Games” writer Michael Lesslie wrote the screenplay.
The “X-Men” film franchise began in 2000 with “X-Men,” directed by Bryan Singer. This first film introduced audiences to the concept of mutants – humans born with genetic superpowers – and focused on the leader of the X-Men, Professor Charles Xavier, and the metal-clawed Logan/Wolverine, as they attempt to make peace with their rival Magneto. It was praised for its serious, character-driven take on the superhero genre.
Its sequel, “X2” (2003), built on the foundation of the first film, allowing for more mutant heroes and villains to appear while exploring Wolverine’s mysterious past. “X2” was an even bigger critical and commercial success, further establishing the “X-Men” as a powerful superhero franchise able to stand alongside the likes of Superman and Batman.

However, with Marvel Studios looking to put the X-Men front and centre and Deadpool & Wolverine proving to be one of its biggest hits during the Multiverse Saga, we're sure Kevin Feige won't hesitate to bring Reynolds back into the fold.

Ryan Reynolds is exploring a possible ‘Deadpool’ / ‘X-Men’ movie. The 48-year-old actor is believed to be in the early stages of writing an ensemble movie featuring Deadpool and three or four ‘X-Men’ characters. It is believed that Deadpool would be a minor character in the movie, giving the ‘X-Men’ characters more screentime.According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Reynolds is said to believe that keeping his f-bomb wielding anti-hero more on the sidelines could allow for the X-Men characters to be used in unexpected ways”.Reynolds’ film would be completely separate to the potential ‘X-Men’ movie that Michael Lesslie is writing for Marvel Studios.Ryan has previously starred in 2016’s ‘Deadpool’, 2018’s ‘Deadpool 2’ and the 2024 movie ‘Deadpool Wolverine’ with Hugh Jackman.Ryan previously revealed that he didn’t expect to make another movie starring Deadpool, but he would return for a film with his alter-ego as a supporting character.Speaking...

Ryan Reynolds might return as Deadpool, but not in a solo movie this time. Instead, he’s thinking about making a film where Deadpool teams up with a few X-Men characters. It’s still very early, and nothing has been pitched to Marvel Studios yet. But Reynolds is working on a few ideas and writing treatments on his own.
This comes after the huge success of Deadpool & Wolverine, which made over a billion. The movie became the highest-grossing R-rated film ever. Even with that big win, Reynolds said he didn’t want to do another solo Deadpool film.
Now, nine months later, he’s planning something new. According to sources who spoke with The Hollywood Reporter, Reynolds is writing different versions of a movie that would include three or four X-Men characters.

During his appearance at the Time 100 Summit last month, Ryan Reynolds seemed to suggest that he'd already begun work on his next Deadpool adventure, and it looks like we may now know what that might be.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Deadpool & Wolverine star/writer/producer has been quietly developing a film that would see his fan-favorite Merc with a Mouth team-up with the X-Men.
He's still exploring ideas and has been writing a variety of treatments in his effort to crack the story for what would be an ensemble film that would feature at least three or four prominent X-Men characters. He would still appear as Deadpool, albeit in a supporting role rather than as the main lead.
According to their sources, Reynolds believes keeping his loud-mouthed hero adjacent to the spotlight could allow the X-Men characters to be used in more unique and unexpected ways, which is certainly an exciting prospect.

Ryan Reynolds may not be itching to make "Deadpool 4," but he's got plans to bring back the Merc with a Mouth. While nothing has been confirmed by Disney or Marvel Studios at this juncture, it has been confirmed that Reynolds is indeed working on a new project that will include Wade Wilson. The important twist? The proposed project movie would also include other members of the X-Men.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Reynolds is working on "various treatments" for a movie that would include Deadpool and three or four other X-Men characters. As for who exactly might join up with Wade this time around? That remains a mystery, but Reynolds previously shared his belief that Deadpool works better as a supporting character, so this news lines up with what the actor/writer/producer has said in the past. It also further builds on something Reynolds teased himself recently.

Deadpool & Wolverine has been Marvel’s biggest hit in recent years, so it’s no surprise the studio is eager to bring those characters back. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ryan Reynolds is actively developing ideas for a new Deadpool movie that would feature several X-Men characters.
The potential project would be an ensemble with three or four X-Men characters, but Deadpool may only be a supporting player in the movie. The report states that it’s still very early days and Reynolds hasn’t yet pitched it to the studio. The actor is known for going through a lot of concepts before he lands on one he likes. Deadpool & Wolverine went through many iterations before it became the billion-dollar blockbuster that revitalized the Marvel Cinematic Universe (at least temporarily).

Following the success of Deadpool & Wolverine, Ryan Reynolds is "exploring ideas" for a potential Deadpool movie that would see the Merc with a Mouth team-up with the X-Men in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. One of the biggest events in The Multiverse Saga was the arrival of Wade Wilson in the MCU, thanks to the X-Men rights being back at Marvel Studios. After Reynolds teased last month that he may be working on a new MCU project with Deadpool, a new report is offering more clues about how the mutants are going to be used in the franchise.
In a new report from The Hollywood Reporter, the trade revealed that Reynolds is developing ideas for a possible Marvel Studios movie that would see Deadpool and X-Men characters team up. While the untitled movie will involve X-Men characters, this is separate from the X-Men reboot that Michael Lesslie is writing for Marvel Studios.

Deadpool may be done flying solo, but that doesn’t mean Ryan Reynolds is done with the Merc With a Mouth. In fact, Deadpool & Wolverine may have been the last standalone outing for Wade Wilson — but if Reynolds gets his way, his katana-wielding antihero could be headed back to the big screen with some mutant company.
According to new report from THR, Reynolds is in the early stages of developing a new Deadpool movie that would feature an ensemble of X-Men characters. It’s still extremely early — no pitch has been made to Marvel Studios at this time — but Reynolds is reportedly working on multiple treatments with the idea of bringing “three or four” iconic mutants into the mix. In a twist, the film wouldn’t necessarily center on Deadpool. Instead, he might play more of a supporting role to allow space for new dynamics.

In the aftermath of Deadpool & Wolverine, Ryan Reynolds remained firm that he did not see another solo Deadpool movie in his future. That was despite the film grossing $1.338 billion, a number that validated the extraordinary amount of creative control he wields over the franchise, and which proved he was the most valuable new player in the Marvel Studios arsenal.
Now, nine months after Deadpool & Wolverine became the top-grossing R-rated movie of all time, Reynolds is quietly plotting his return to the character, but true to his word, it won’t be as the lead of a solo movie.
Reynolds is exploring ideas for a Deadpool movie that would feature X-Men characters, as well as continuing to script the Paramount comedy Boy Band after making writing a priority for much of this year before tackling other obligations, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter.

Who would have thought that the “Now You See Me” franchise would spur some of the biggest names in indie film? Oscar-nominated filmmaker Jesse Eisenberg and Sundance darling Dave Franco both return for third film “Now You See Me: Now You Don’t” along with their fellow Four Horsemen magicians Woody Harrelson and Isla Fisher.
And there’s a new generation of indie stars joining the big Lionsgate franchise: Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, and Ariana Greenblatt, who were also all in person to stage a visual “heist” in the heart of Times Square to promote the trailer. Lionsgate gave away $250,000 in digital payments to fans that texted or called a mysterious phone number that was on a billboard.
“Now You See Me: Now You Don’t” also stars Rosamund Pike and Morgan Freeman. The film is directed by Ruben Fleischer with a script by Seth Grahame-Smith, Michael Lesslie, Paul Wernick, and Rhett Reese.

Ariana Greenblatt, Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, and Rosamund Pike all join the cast, with Jesse Eisenberg, Dave Franco, Woody Harrelson, and Morgan Freeman also returning.
The trailer finds Danny Atlas (Eisenberg) leading a young band of magicians as they work to steal the coveted “Heart Diamond” — the “most valuable jewel in history” — from the powerful and corrupt Vanderberg family, who are led by Rosamund Pike’s character. Lionsgate just pulled off a bit of movie magic at CinemaCon. The studio officially unveiled the title for the third film in its hit Now You See Me franchise: Now You See Me: Now You Don’t — although not using this title earlier in the saga remains something of a crime. But that’s not all — director Ruben Fleischer isn’t stopping at just one installment. Lionsgate also revealed he’s already locked in to develop and direct a fourth movie in the action-heist series.
The third entry, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, will hit theaters on November 14, 2025, and it has already completed principal photography. Okay, mutant fans, it’s finally happening. After what feels like a lifetime of waiting (and meme-ing), the X-Men are packing their bags and heading to the MCU. Yup, Marvel’s most dramatic, angsty, and occasionally shirtless superhero squad is gearing up for a new chapter under Kevin Feige’s watchful eye.
Ever since Disney gobbled up Fox like a post-credit snack in 2019, we’ve all been wondering when the X-gene would finally activate in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And while Marvel has been teasing us with cameos, multiverse winks, and mutant breadcrumbs, we’ve still been waiting for that official ‘X-Men, assemble!’ moment.

Singer/actress Sza (Solána Imani Row) recently appeared as Catwoman in State Farm's "Batman vs. Bateman" commercial, and the One of The Days star has now set her sights on another comic book character - and she is certainly aiming high.
Sza appeared on The Jennifer Hudson Show and threw her hat in the ring to play one of the most powerful superheroes in Marvel Comics, the X-Men's Ororo Munroe, aka Storm.
"I would love to be a superhero," Sza said when asked if there might be a Marvel or DC role in her future. "[Storm] comes from this whole other place where it's the jungle ... So, I think that would be so gnarly if I could be Storm's origin story."
"My dad collects first-edition comics, so he has the first-edition Thor comics and Silver Surfer just in the basement," she added.

The upcoming X-Men reboot in the MCU is one of the most highly anticipated projects for fans, as it will officially introduce the iconic mutant team into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, taking over from Fox’s previous X-Men franchise.
While details about the film remain scarce, Marvel Studios is aiming to strike a balance between humor and drama while introducing mutants who have yet to appear in live-action.
It was recently revealed that Michael Lesslie, best known for The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, has been tapped to write the script. His strong pedigree makes him a promising choice for the reboot.
Reports suggest that Lesslie pitched a full X-Men ’97-inspired roster for the team. However, rumors indicate that Wolverine may not be included initially, as Hugh Jackman is expected to continue playing the character beyond Secret Wars.

Official updates on Marvel's plans for the X-Men have been few and far between since Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox, and rumor has it that this is simply down to the studio playing the waiting game.
Apparently, if Marvel wanted to reboot the team using any of the same characters from Fox's franchise before 2025, the likes of Simon Kinberg, Bryan Singer and co. would be, at minimum, entitled to credits and compensation, and may even have some degree of creative control as well.
We have no idea if this is accurate, but it would explain why it's pretty much been radio silence on all things X-Men since 2019, and why the only established mutant characters we've seen in The MCU since is Professor Xavier (Patrick Stewart) in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Beast (Kelsey Grammer) in The Marvels, and Hugh Jackman as Logan in Deadpool and Wolverine (which...

A couple of months later, in July, Kevin Feige spoke with Gizmodo and mentioned that the movie would feature a mix of returning characters and fresh faces, adding that he was excited to bring the “soap opera” aspects of the X-Men into the MCU.
Then, in November, Feige told Omelete that the film would be released sometime after Avengers: Secret Wars.

Earlier today, we got word that Marvel Studios had shelved (or at least paused development on) three planned Disney+ shows: Nova, Terror Inc., and Strange Academy.
Marvel is said to have "shifted its priorities," and we're hearing that one of the projects the studio may now be focusing on involves a very different type of academy.
During this week's episode of The Hot Mic, Jeff Sneider mentions that a source told him that an "X Academy" series is in the early planning stages.
In the comics, the Academy X students debuted in the pages of New X-Men #23, and were basically introduced as yet another incarnation of the New Mutants (students that would eventually work their way up to the main roster). The original line-up consisted of Anole, Armor, the Cuckoo Triplets, Dust, Elixir, Prodigy, Pixie, and Rockslide.

And with the discovery and introduction of adamantium in Captain America: Brave New World, fans are finally getting their first hints of Marvel's famous mutants. The X-Men casting rumors continue to swirl, and this latest report is sure to get a lot of attention.
According to The Hot Mic's Jeff Sneider, The Substance star Margaret Qualley is being eyed for the role of Rogue.
Rogue, real name Anna Marie, is easily one of the most popular members of the team, and fans have been hoping to see a comic-accurate take on the sassy Southern belle in live-action for many years. Anna Paquin played a younger version of the character in 20th Century Fox's X-Men movies, but she didn't really have much in common with her comic book counterpart.
Qualley's acclaimed turn in The Substance has made her a hot commodity in Hollywood, so it was probably only a matter of time before a major superhero franchise came calling.
Though we're still waiting on an official announcement, Marvel does seem to be making moves on this project behind-the-scenes.

For years, Marvel Studios was unable to integrate the X-Men, one of the most famous superhero teams of all time, into its Marvel Cinematic Universe. That was because 20th Century Fox owned the screen rights to the X-Men. But then Marvel's parent company Disney bought 20th Century Fox in 2019. Outside of a couple fun cameos, we have yet to see an actual X-Man mutant appear in a Marvel movie from Disney. But we know that's going to change, and likely soon.

While no such rumors have been confirmed, Sink's possible casting as Jean Grey has garnered a lot of attention on social media. At Megacon Orlando, Eddie Munson actor Joseph Quinn commented on the rumors when asked about them during a panel. On the heels of the recent news that Elliot Page is set to re-team with Inception director Christopher Nolan on his upcoming adaptation of Homer's The Odyssey, we're hearing that The Umbrella Academy star might be in line for an MCU role in the near future.
Though we don't have many details, scooper Mttsh claims that Page has met with Marvel Studios for a potential part in an upcoming project.
As we're sure any fan of 20th Century Fox's now defunct X-Men franchise will be aware, this wouldn't be Page's first Marvel Comics role, as he - then still known as Ellen Page - played Kitty Pryde, aka Shadowcast, in X-Men: The Last Stand and Days of Future Past. Though it's highly unlikely that Page would be in talks to reprise that particular role, he could be on the studio's radar for the long-awaited X-Men reboot, as casting rumors...

When Disney acquired 21st Century Fox, it meant that Marvel Studios, which is set up at Disney, regained the rights to Marvel Comics characters they had previously loaned out to Fox, like the X-Men and the Fantastic Four. Almost six years have gone by since that acquisition deal was completed, but Marvel has taken their time working those regained characters into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Later this year, we’ll be meeting the MCU’s version of the Fantastic Four in The Fantastic Four: First Steps. A version of the X-Men character Professor Xavier appeared in the MCU movie Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (alongside a version of the Fantastic Four character Reed Richards), a version of X-Men’s Beast showed up in the end credits of The Marvels, and some of the Fox characters went on a multiverse-spanning adventure in Deadpool & Wolverine. Now, Marvel is ready to...

The X-Men rumors continue to swirl, and we can now add another name to the list of potential actors Marvel Studios is said to be looking at to fill out the McU's roster of mutant heroes.
Though we don't have a specific character for this one, The Hot Mic's Jeff Sneider has heard that House of the Dragon star Tom Glynn-Carney is someone the studio "likes" for an undisclosed role.
Apparently, Glynn-Carney - who plays King Aegon Targaryen on HBO's Game of Thrones prequel series - took a meeting that "went well," but we don't have much more to go on for the time being.
Assuming Glynn-Carney is being considered for a part in the X-Men movie, who would the 30-year-old Brit be best suited to play? There are obviously a number of possibilities, and we're still not sure which characters will make up the team.
