As many iTunes lovers and Youtube fanatics understand, music (old and new) has become a huge factor on hit television shows and both the show and artists featured benefit from the collaboration. Ever YouTube a certain scene from your favorite show for hours on end? Did it have a catchy song that you immediately downloaded? Yes, the odds are that you have.

Television show soundtracks are an obsession over here and the music played make that specific scene that much more memorable. This is very much the case when it comes to Friday Night Lights. It all began when Tony Lucca helped introduce Dillon, Texas with his "Devil Town" hit. Along the way scenes like Landry kissing Tyra with The Avett Brothers' "If It's the Beaches" playing in the background made you want to become a Panther yourself.

Happy Towel Day! I hope all of you have been spending your day in appreciation of the genius of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Discussion question for the evening: has the emergence of tablet PCs and the iPad give us actual Hitchhiker's Guides? Hell, even smart phones at this point have given us the ability to access a wealth of information and directions from virtually anywhere. Well, anywhere with cell service so depending on which carrier you're with... whenever you're near a major city or suburban area if you're lucky. The bottom line is that I really want a cover for my cell phone that says "Don't Panic" on it in large, friendly looking letters. Here's your Wednesday night TV:
8:00pm: "American Idol" on Fox. 127 minute 10th season finale. Because a two hour long season finale just wasn't enough, those extra seven minutes are life or death Crucial...

Royal Wedding Mania is back on TV tonight so I guess the last couple of days all the networks had to pack up, fly to London and establish their wedding headquarters before sending all the PAs out to find the wackiest wedding memorabilia to be had so they can hold it up on TV and feign surprise that Anyone would want to purchase a commemorative tea cozy or whatever. What are we up to in terms of tacky wedding memorabilia? There's always that threshold that hovers somewhere just past creepy (William and Kate pillows) and heads straight on into offensive (say, a commemorative plate featuring an angelic picture of Diana smiling down on William and Kate) and it's always interesting to see when that event horizon is breached. In a "sad for humanity" kind of way, anyway. Here's your Wednesday night TV:

Tonight features excellent TV for those of you who like Basketball, misery, or the WWE. For the rest of you, the television offers no respite from the many annoyances of Monday, like discovering that you forgot to set your alarm, that the shirt you wanted to wear needs to be washed, or that the large container of yogurt you bought so you could just put some in a little gladware container to take to work and cut down on the number of those stupid cups you throw away has fruit bits in it, which you hate. Ok, maybe that last one is a little bit specific to me, but you get my point. While I mentally reschedule the rest of my week around taking an extra five minutes to run my yogurt through a sieve before eating it (it's a texture thing, leave me alone) you can go ahead and...

When the "One Tree Hill" gang was still in high school, Brooke (Sophia Bush) described herself as "the girl behind the red door." She was referring to the front door of the giant house she grew up in -- raising herself, more or less. "The girl behind the red door" was a lot of things over the high school years - she was the head cheerleader, the class president, and, in less pleasant times, the school slut and the girl whose heart was broken repeatedly by the people she trusted most.
Over 8 years of "One Tree Hill" we've watched the other original series regulars pair off and settle down while Brooke was married to her work, but on Tuesday night's episode, Brooke finally said goodbye to the girl behind the red door and married the guy for her - Julian (Austin Nichols).
Cue waterworks. Okay, okay, we know it's lame...
