"Make It Your Own": 'Friday Night Lights' Connie Britton Speaks Out to Reboot Series Cast [Exclusive]
Image
"Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose." Friday Night Lights' motto never gets old, especially as a new generation gets introduced to a reimagining of the hit series. In December, Peacock ordered a Friday Night Lights reboot, and although it is still uncertain if any of the Og cast members will return, Connie Britton did share a word of advice for the new cast. The actress, who played Tami Taylor in both the film adaptation and the 2008 series, recently told Colliderthat she might have no clue about the upcoming Peacock production, but her greatest hope is that whoever is a part of it might have just as much of a special experience as she did with the Og ensemble.

‘I knew it was going to be a hit’: Taylor Sheridan and Peter Berg on how the West(ern) was won
Image
Two modern-day titans of Westerns, Taylor Sheridan and Peter Berg (American Primeval), met 10 years ago when Sheridan sent Berg a script that would become Hell or High Water.

Berg’s initial reaction? “How are you going to film a cow sweating?” But a few pages later, the Friday Nights Lights director was hooked by what he calls “one of the best and most well-earned” action sequences he’d ever read. “This guy’s the real deal,” he remembers thinking.

He called Sheridan in for a meeting — Sheridan’s first with a filmmaker — and “We just hit it off,” recalls Sheridan. The two would produce Wind River the following year, and a deep, respectful friendship and mutual admiration was born.

Here, in a freewheeling conversation, the two swap stories about reinventing Westerns, the “religious” experience of writing, why Taylor Kitsch and Sam Elliott are their favorite actors — and the most important member of the crew.

‘Mercy’ First Look: Chris Pratt Has 90 Minutes to Prove to AI That He Didn’t Kill His Wife
Image
Imagine if an advanced AI program put you on trial for murder…and you had 90 minutes prove your innocence or die.

Every Deadpool Movie Ranked
Image
It's wild to think that Ryan Reynolds' red and black one-mutant-army, who is totally aware he's being watched, has gone on to become one of the most successful comic book movie franchises in history. Somehow, Deadpool, aka Wade Wilson, clawed his way out of a hole in 2006 to do it almost 20 years later, just to the tune of *Nsync.

The hero who can't die (and can't sit in a car silently) has created a legacy built on poorly handled franchises and mocking the genre that he thrives on. It's this wild perspective that's enough to make us hopeful for the future wherever he ends up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, whether that be popping up in the "Secret Wars" or annoying the hell out of Tom Holland's Spider-Man, just the way comic book fans had always hoped.

But now, with five films under his belt, which of the "Deadpool...

10 Amazing TV Dramas That Are (Almost) As Good As The Sopranos
Image
Television dramas have been an important part of the average American's media diet for the last few decades, with people gathering around the television to catch the latest episode of their favorite shows every week. Television dramas exploded in the late-1990s when prestige television networks like HBO started producing high-quality programming to compete with feature films.

The crowning jewel of HBO's initial line-up, which included excellent series like Oz and Sex and the City, was undoubtedly The Sopranos, which is still considered the greatest television drama of all time. The few series that come close to the quality of The Sopranos are the ones that push the boundaries of serialized television, and brought audiences nuanced and complicated stories.

Top Gun: Maverick Director’s Based-On-a-True-Story Drama Starring Josh Brolin & Miles Teller Makes Streaming Charts 8 Years Later
Image
Joseph Kosinski has been building an impressive filmography over the last 15 years as a director. After working on videos, Kosinski would direct his first feature film in 2010, with the sequel Tron: Legacy. Though it received mixed reviews, the film's iconic soundtrack and distinctive visual layout would renew interest in the Tron franchise nearly 30 years after the Jeff Bridges original. This year, the series will continue with Tron: Ares, but Kosinski will not be directing.

The director came into prominence when he helmed Top Gun: Maverick in 2022. Continuing a career trend starting with his feature film debut, the movie was a long-awaited sequel to an '80s movie. And it was a huge success. Top Gun: Maverick received rave reviews, and grossed just under $1.5 billion, becoming the second-highest grossing movie of 2022 (losing only to James Cameron's Avatar: The Way of Water). The film also received multiple Oscar nominations, winning Best Sound.

Reece returns home to his family with conflicting memories of the event and questions about his culpability. However, as new evidence comes to light, Reece discovers dark forces working against him, endangering his life and the lives of those he loves.

As I’d said, Luna will play Freddy Strain for The Terminal List Season 2. According to the character’s description,...

Luna will recur as Freddy Strain — a character who factored heavily into Jack Carr’s second James Reece novel, “True Believer.” A former Seal Team 6 Senior Chief and current officer with CIA’s Ground Branch, Freddy is described as “a man of two worlds – equal parts elite sniper and dedicated family man. Netflix' Best Western Created One of 2025's Most Tragic Love Stories (& It's Not the One Fans Think)
Image
Quick LinksWho Was American Primeval's Jacob Pratt? What Happened to Jacob and Abish?

The following contains spoilers for American Primeval, now streaming on Netlflix. It also contains a mention of suicide.

With Westerns like Yellowstone reigniting the genre for TV, Netflix decided to take things in a raw and unadulterated direction. The streamer achieves this with the shockingly gory American Primeval, which focuses on the 1850s and the Utah War.

The series depicts American soldiers, the Mormons and Natives battling for territory. Along the way, the show maps out one of the most tragic love stories of its genre. But it's not the one fans think is on top of the list. It's a darker story, focusing on Dane DeHaan's Jacob Pratt and his wife, Abish.

Chris Pratt teases that Star-Lord will return when asked about Avengers: Doomsday
Image
At the end of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, there was a tag that read, “The Legendary Star-Lord Will Return.” So far, we’ve yet to see Chris Pratt reprise the role of Star-Lord in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and we have no indication of when he might appear. However, the actor seems confident that he will be back, perhaps even in Avengers: Doomsday and/or Avengers: Secret Wars.

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Pratt was asked if he would be in the new Avengers movies. He wouldn’t confirm or deny anything, only saying, “Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 was the last time you saw Star-Lord, and there was a promise that Star-Lord would return. All I can say is we will make good on that promise. I feel like there’s a Marvel sniper somewhere. I will say no more.“

Bad news for action movie fans, as a thriller with 91% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes is all set to abandon Netflix soon. 7 Shows Like ‘Cobra Kai’ to Watch After Season 6
Image
“Cobra Kai” might be officially wrapped up but there are plenty of other shows that can scratch that lingering itch.

When the “Karate Kid” sequel series was at it’s best it was a bingeable mix of ’80s nostalgia, sports drama, and high school melodrama that balanced comedy with more serious moments. Luckily there are a number of other great – and equally bingeable – shows out there.

Below are seven options for shows like “Cobra Kai” to try if you’re trying to capture the same vibes that made it such a great watch.

“Glow” (Credit: Netflix) Glow

Much like “Cobra Kai,” Netflix’s “Glow” mined a nostalgic ’80s energy to incredible affect. The series followed a group of women rising to stardom during the real boom of female wrestling leagues of the Reagan-era. Everyone Remembers 'John Carter' as a Flop, and That's a Shame
Image
On paper, it sounded like a surefire hit. Andrew Stanton, the two-time Oscar-winning director of Finding Nemo and Wall-e, was set to make his live-action debut just a year after fellow Pixar visionary Brad Bird had done so to astounding success. Stanton was working with one of the most influential science-fiction texts of all time, one that Avatar and Star Wars arguably wouldn’t exist without. All the right ingredients were in place, and yet 2012’s John Carteropened to greatly mixed reviews and disastrous box office returns, losing almost $200 million for Disney.

Yet, despite being remembered as one of the biggest box-office bombs of all time, with maybe the single worst marketing campaign in modern history, is John Carter actually deserving of its reputation? We’d argue no — while far from perfect, it actually holds up surprisingly well as a pulpy sci-fi joyride, brimming with charm, action and humor.

DC's Most Underrated Actor Was More Unhinged In American Primeval
Image
Quick LinksHow Does Jai Courtney Play Captain Boomerang?Who Does Jai Courtney Play in American Primeval?

The following contains spoilers for American Primeval, now streaming on Netlflix.

James Gunn has confused fans about what's being kept for the new Dcu. He said that Creature Commandos Season 1 is where the reboot starts, although certain elements from The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker (both of which he helmed) will be retained. As polarizing as that is, there were bright spots from that era which Zack Snyder kickstarted. One of them is the underrated Captain Boomerang.

Played by Australian actor Jai Courtney, the Dceu's Boomerang was the most unhinged member of the Suicide Squad, surpassing that same energy from the comics and other DC media. Interestingly, Courtney plays a similarly maniacal character in what is arguably Netflix's best Western: American Primeval. In the 2025 series, Courtney's character is a lot more sadistic as a merciless leader.

'American Primeval' Is Finally Giving Taylor Kitsch His Big Moment
Image
Quick LinksTaylor Kitsch's Early Rise to Stardom2012 Was the Make and Break Year for Taylor KitschKitsch's Rebound Was Slow and Steady

Oftentimes, the stars perfectly align for an actor when they book a series of high-profile projects that release in a short amount of time, taking them from a relatively unknown into the next big thing in seemingly just a year. Some great recent examples include Florence Pugh in 2019, where she had Fighting with My Family in February, Midsommar in July, and Little Women in December while landing the role of Yelena Belova in Black Widow in the same year. Or Jenna Ortega's 2022 lineup of Scream, Avenue 666, X,American Carnage, and Wednesday in one year made her the new scream queen. Sometimes, the stars align.

Yet, for others, it doesn't work out so well. No actor might have had worse luck than Taylor Kitsch, who in 2012 lined up a...
