Run Werewolf Run - An Illustrated Werewolf Novel by Onur Tukel: "Run Werewolf Run is the first novel from filmmaker Onur Tukel, who adapted it from a feature film script he wrote in 2018. "I've always loved this script," Tukel said. "It's one of my favorite projects. Covid complicated production for so many films in 2020, and I really wanted to bring this project to fruition, so adapting it as a novel made sense. It was much harder than writing a script, of course. I thought it might take a year or two, but it ended up taking five years.

Alex Kingston's Bewitching Series Finds Global Streaming Success 7 Years After Debut
Image
A bingeable book-to-television series adaptation is currently proving successful globally with Netflix. The AMC series A Discovery of Witches settled itself comfortably at number 5 in Netflix's global Top 10, according to Tudum. The series is based on the All Souls trilogy by Deborah Harkness. Teresa Palmer stars as Dr. Diana Bishop, a witch and a Yale professor at Oxford who has spent the majority of her life hiding away from the supernatural abilities she possesses. Raised by her aunts, who are also witches, played by Alex Kingston (Doctor Who) and Valerie Pettiford, after the death of her parents, she wants nothing more than to be normal. The series also stars Matthew Goode, Edward Blumel, Lindsay Duncan, and Owen Teale.

The basic premise (both for the book and television series), as explained by Harkness, is what if witches, vampires, and daemons lived among us? And if so, what are their day jobs?...

Takashi Shimizu
This Terrifying J-Horror Remake Is Now Streaming For Free!
Takashi Shimizu
The early aughts launched a wave of horror remakes, but they’re especially known as an era full of American remakes of Japanese horror classics. One such adaptation is Takashi Shimizu‘s 2004 film, The Grudge, based on the Japanese film Ju-On: The Grudge, which Shimizu directed in 2002. It’s not often the original director is brought on for the American adaptation, so this is a fascinating film even for just that reason.

In the film, “An American nurse living and working in Tokyo is exposed to a mysterious supernatural curse, one that locks a person in a powerful rage before claiming their life and spreading to another victim.“

The Grudge stars horror icon Sarah Michelle Gellar, as well as Jason Behr (Roswell) and Clea DuVall (The Faculty). It was a massive hit upon release, raking in a reported $187.3 million on a $10 million budget. It was released when I was a kid,...

David F. Sandberg on ‘Lights Out’ Sequel: “I Think the Moment Has Passed”
Lights Out (2016)
A sequel to Lights Out was announced a week after the original film’s release in 2016, but nothing ever came of it. Replying to a fan on Instagram, director David F. Sandberg confirmed that the follow-up is unlikely to happen.

He’s referring to Gabriel Bateman, who starred as Martin in the supernatural horror film alongside Teresa Palmer, Alexander Dipersia, Billy Burke, and Maria Bello.

Lights Out marked Sandberg’s feature directorial debut, based on his viral short film of the same name. Eric Heisserer penned the script.

'We're Still Plotting:' Westworld's Aaron Paul Hopes Canceled Series Will Get Fifth Season
Image
Fans were a little disappointed when Westworld was cancelled after Season 4. However, Aaron Paul, who joined the show as Caleb Nichols in Season 3, says a fifth installment might still be on the cards.

Although the Westworld creators had a story planned for Season 5, HBO pulled the entire series from its Max streaming platform after the show was cancelled. Despite the bleak move, Paul remains optimistic. "I'm still holding out [hope]. I have the very, very broad strokes," the actor told ComicBook. 10 Remakes Of 1990s Movies That Couldn't Replicate Their Success
Image
Over the last decade or two, one particular trend in Hollywood has left moviegoers divided. This specific trend involves major studios electing to remake their fan-favorite films from years before. Some enjoy seeing their favorite stories be brought back to life, while others would prefer to see studios dedicating their resources to more original ideas. Regardless of where you stand on this debate, it is impossible to deny that the movie world has recently been flooded with remakes of popular films.

A major reason why so many of these remakes are happening is because they often feel like a surefire way to make a massive profit by capitalizing on a pre-existing audience. However, several recent attempts have demonstrated that success is not a guarantee. Some remakes unfortunately end up thoroughly underwhelming their audiences, failing to offer all the exciting elements that made the original films so popular, particularly when it...

What Happened to Hacksaw Ridge?
Image
In 2006, Mel Gibson was just about the most controversial guy in Hollywood. But he was, let’s all admit it, still an icon of the screen. As such, some people still had a lot of faith in him. And that faith would be translated in Hacksaw Ridge. There was the faith of its central figure, Desmond Doss; that which the producers and studio put into Gibson; and that which Gibson himself had in the project, which would tell of a conscientious objector during World War II. A gamble? Absolutely. A success? Unprecedented. So pick up that weapon, soldier – or, better yet, be at ease – as we find out: What Happened to This Movie?!

Hacksaw Ridge centers around the real-life figure of Desmond Doss, who served as a medic during World War II and became famous for his refusal to carry a weapon. Even still, he is credited with saving 75 lives while in action.
