The March 17 episode of “American Idol” is the fourth of five shows to feature the auditions for season 17. ABC has released a sneak peek at the dozen contestants we will see sing for judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie. Among these 12 contenders on the Night 4 episode are only a handful who were given tickets to Hollywood and then competed there to make the Top 40. We’ve done some snooping and can reveal which of those survived that first cut as well as news of how they did in the showcase round. Spoilers ahead.
At the end of January, we know that the Top 40 flew to Honolulu and stayed at the Aulani Resort, a luxury hotel owned, as is ABC, by Disney. Each of these would-winners of season 17 sang once again. Only 20 of them were put through to the next round. This episode will air on March 31.
