Star Trek's Michael Dorn Was The Only Choice To Voice Battle Beast On Invincible [Exclusive]
Image
We may receive a commission on purchases made from links.

The voice cast of "Invincible" is an astonishing line-up of talent. Steven Yeun voices the lead, Mark Grayson aka Invincible, and J.K. Simmons plays his father, Nolan Grayson aka Omni-Man. The supporting cast includes Sandra Oh (as Mark's mom Debbie), Gillian Jacobs (Atom Eve), and Walton Goggins (Natsec spook Cecil Stedman). Guest stars have ranged from Aaron Paul (Powerplex) to Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Conquest) to Michael Dorn as the alien warrior Battle Beast.

Resembling a white-furred humanoid feline, Battle Beast lives for, well, battle. He dreams of finding an opponent worthy of his strength. Now, "Invincible" writer Robert Kirkman and artist Ryan Ottley are returning to the original comics to tell more of Battle Beast's story in a new ongoing series: "Invincible Universe: Battle Beast."

I recently spoke with Kirkman and Ottley about their work on "Battle Beast." When the...

Latest Joel McHale update could impact the Community movie on Peacock
Image
Six seasons and a movie is all us Community fans have been asking for and wanting. We've got the six seasons, though we're still eagerly waiting for the reunion film that's sure to be a hit at Peacock. Since September 2022 when news was confirmed that the Community movie was happening, we've been wondering not just when it'll be released, but when filming would actually start. Now with one of the star's current shows getting picked up, this could be bad news for the project.

Joel McHale who played Jeff Winger currently stars in the comedy series Animal Control on Fox. The third season finished airing recently, and the show has now been picked up and renewed for a season 4, per TVLine. This of course makes us happy for the actor. We love to see them all succeed! But, the renewal news does have us thinking about Community: The Movie and McHale's upcoming availability.

John Mulaney Is One of the Best TV Comedy Guest Stars Ever
Image
Audiences have countless associations with John Mulaney. He’s a virtuosic comic. He’s a sketch performer. He’s a Broadway star. He’s an Emmy-winning writer. He’s a talk show host. In a sense, he’s Spider-Pig. What we don’t talk about enough is how great Mulaney is as a TV comedy guest star, but now that he’s popped up in Season Two of Poker Face, we really should.

To be clear: I’m not talking about Mulaney’s work as a series regular or sketch comic. In the former case, this would potentially require us all to engage with his short-lived namesake sitcom Mulaney, something I didn’t care to do at the time, which put me squarely in the majority of critics and TV owners. I’m also not addressing his work as a sketch comic, largely because his character George St. Geegland — a...

What Happens To Oliver Grayson In The Invincible Comics
Image
As Mark Grayson (voiced by Steven Yeun) and his allies keep finding out, the world of "Invincible" is not your everyday superhero universe. With all-powerful Viltrumites and all forms of threats both earthly and cosmic running rampant, humanity's fate is eternally at stake in the Prime Video series. This makes it all the more frustrating when Mark's younger half-brother, Oliver "Kid Omni-Man" Grayson (Christian Convery), keeps adding to the chaos with the very peculiar and pragmatic outlook that comes with his Viltrumite-Thraxan upbringing and unfamiliarity with human customs like "thinking twice before killing people, regardless of what they've done."

Or so it might seem. Despite Oliver's potential as an annoying kid character extraordinaire, he -- like so many other "Invincible" characters -- soon establishes himself as a far more complex presence than his first impressions would suggest. The "Invincible" season 3 finale's battle against the villainous Conquest (Jeffrey Dean Morgan...

All The Community Paintball Episodes, Ranked From Worst To Best
Image
"Community" was always a great show, but the moment it elevated to god-tier status was when it introduced the concept of a Paintball Episode (an idea that, sadly, the "Community" movie will not revisit when/if it comes to pass). That's when an otherwise-normal sitcom suddenly has its characters start shooting at each other with paintball guns, complete with genuinely impressive action cinematography. Why doesn't every sitcom do stuff like this? Because they lack the audacity.

"Community" would do three more paintball episodes throughout its run, all of them featuring at least one moment that's so cool it'll make you forgive the show for any of its other faults. Are you mad at how the series dragged out the romance between Jeff (Joel McHale) and Annie (Alison Brie) for six seasons? Well, at least the scene where the Dean (Jim Rash) recreates the "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" elevator fight...

5 Best Original Batman: The Animated Series Villains Ranked
Image
"Batman: The Animated Series" is beloved for how accurately it adapted the "Batman" comics. Many consider the series to be the definitive depiction of Gotham City. Yet "Batman" also colored in the margins, where the creators left their own thumbprints.

The series didn't only adapt existing Batman comics and characters. The "Batman" team also introduced a handful of original characters, spicing up the stories they could tell. Some of these original characters were such successes that the comics started adapting them from the show.

Take Gotham police officer Renee Montoya, one of Commissioner Gordon's (Bob Hastings) inner circle. Or Nora Fries, terminally ill wife of the villainous Mr. Freeze. Nora's admittedly more of a plot device, but her presence casts a cloud over Freeze and is the foundation of his brilliant recharacterization.

Some of the other original characters were more sinister. The many illustrious villains of "Batman: The Animated Series...

‘The Bear’ acting Emmy submissions revealed — including guest stars Josh Hartnett, John Cena, and Olivia Colman
Image
FX will submit 19 actors from The Bear for Emmy Awards consideration this year, Gold Derby has learned.

Two-time Best Comedy Actor winner Jeremy Allen White will again be submitted as the show’s lead actor and look for the hat-trick. Past Best Comedy Supporting Actress winner Ayo Edebiri, who jumped to the lead actress race last year, is again being submitted in Best Comedy Actress.

Four The Bear stars will be submitted in the Best Comedy Supporting Actor category, including two-time winner Ebon Moss-Bachrach, who joins White in looking for a third consecutive victory. The other actors submitted include 2024 nominee Lionel Boyce, 2023 guest acting nominee Oliver Platt, and Matty Matheson.

In the Best Comedy Supporting Actress category, 2024 winner Liza Colón-Zayas is back, alongside costars Abby Elliott and Molly Gordon.

FX also submitted several The Bear guest stars for consideration — no surprise considering the show won both comedy guest categories at last year’s Emmy Awards.

Six seasons, a movie, and a limited series? Joel McHale 'game' for more Community
Image
Six seasons and a movie may not be enough for Community fans or Joel McHale!

When it comes to cult comedies, Community is in a class all by itself. Premiering on NBC in 2009, the Dan Harmon-created comedy at first looked like a simple sitcom premise. Jeff (Joel McHale) is a lawyer who loses his job when it's discovered his degree doesn't count. He thus enrolls in Greendale Community College to earn a real degree.

Joel forms a study group of quirky students, played by Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Chevy Chase, Yvette Nicole Brown, Alison Brie, and Donald Glover. Ken Jeong and Jim Rash also star.

While the show had humor from the start, it would soon evolve into one of the wilder comedies on television. Every character was made into an offbeat individual, with episodes playing as mockumentaries, parodies/homages to famous movies and TV shows, and unpredictable stories...

'I'm Game': Joel McHale Teases Community Continuing Beyond the Upcoming Movie
Image
Community fans keep waiting for the beloved sitcom to honor its "six seasons and a movie" promise as the long-gestating film adaptation remains on standby. However, when the film finally makes its Peacock debut, Joel McHale says he and his cast mates are "game" for continuing the franchise.

Speaking with Screen Rant, McHale teased the possibility of the Community series making a comeback once the anticipated movie is released. "I think there are some of us that would love to keep going, and I would be like, 'Great, if you guys want to do episodes, let us know,'" he said. "I think that'll probably depend on the success of a movie, but I think if there's enough of a demand to do more. I don't know what it would look like, but obviously the movie would have to inform a lot of that."

McHale says he and the rest...

The 25 Scariest Movies on Netflix: ‘Hereditary,’ ‘Fear Street,’ and More
Image
[Editor’s note: This guide was published in fall 2021 and has been updated multiple times since.]

As Netflix’s library of films ebbs and flows, finding the right movie to watch can feel like bailing out an ocean with a spoon. And if you’re looking for a quality horror movie in particular, the search only gets harder. With the reality that Horror is one of the cheapest genres to produce, streamers like Netflix are cluttered with a veritable tsunami of bloody titles that sometimes seem indistinguishable from one another. Curating the 25 scariest movies on Netflix is then quite a process of selection and reduction.

If you’re looking for a good horror movie to watch on Netflix that will truly scare you, picking a final selection can prove a more daunting task than sitting through yet another “Haunting of Hill House” rewatch; with or without its beloved “Bly Manor” chaser. But while the streamer’s priorities seem to shift as quickly as its content selection grows,...

The Star-Studded Adult Swim Series You Forgot Was Created By Severance's Adam Scott
Image
If you know Adam Scott through his work in the excellent science fiction thriller series "Severance" from Apple TV+, it's understandable that you may be a little taken aback that Scott's most consistent and best turns have come in comedy. "Severance" does have some black comedy elements to its workplace satire, in which a group of people have gone through the eponymous process of severance, in which they have an "innie" who works at a strange and mysterious multinational conglomerate and an "outie" who lives a life outside of work and has no idea what their innie does during the day (and vice versa for the innies knowing nothing about their outies). But that show is largely a dark thriller in which the main characters struggle to regain their independence while being controlled by the enigmatic people who run Lumon Industries.

Instead, Scott's work is best exemplified by his being...

Per The Hollywood Reporter, After Midnight is set to end after its current second season. CBS confirmed that the final episodes of the show ill air in June with no third season in the works. Its 12:35 a.m. time slot hasn't found a new replacement at this time, and it's still unclear if the network will hold onto that hour, or if it will go back to local stations' programming. The show was recently renewed for Season 3, but After Midnight will instead conclude with Season 2 so its host, Taylor Tomlinson, can turn her focus back to her stand-up comedy.

“Hope they don’t slave away the animation team”: We Only Have One Major Concern After Invincible Season 4 Release Window Confirmation
Image
There is no doubt that Invincible is a sure short hit with the fans. The animated series has raked in unreal numbers over the years. With the last two seasons claiming a perfect of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, nothing needs to be said about how good it is.

For all the love that the series has garnered, fans have had one complaint with it for a long time – the below-par animation. And it seems like the malady is here to stay, as the release date for the 4th season has been disclosed.

The White Lotus Star Walton Goggins Had A Scene-Stealing Guest Spot In This Sitcom
Image
Part of what makes HBO's "The White Lotus" such an appealing anthology series (although the "anthology" label is debatable at this point) is the fact that with each season, viewers get a chance to experience the externally luxurious yet emotionally laborious vacations of a different group of characters portrayed by an inspired collection of actors. In particular, character actors tend to steal the show with their dynamic roles, often showcasing a range of emotions that can leave someone laughing themselves silly in one scene or feeling intense intimidation by them in the next. With season 3 more than halfway completed, one of the absolute standouts enduring their stay at the White Lotus wellness resort in Thailand is the mysterious Rick Hatchett, played by Walton Goggins.

Goggins' performance thus far in "The White Lotus" season 3 is yet another showcase of his broad range as a character actor. Upon his introduction in the first episode,...

Invincible Season 3: The top 10 characters ranked worst to best
Image
There’s no doubt that people will look back at season 3 of Invincible with nothing but admiration. The beginning of the dark times of Mark Grayson was told in a way that stayed true to the source material while also making sure the story worked for TV. It’s all you could want from a comic book adaptation. However, none of the show's greatness could have happened without the heroes and villains involved.

All of the characters were incredible from start to finish and this article will rank the top ten. It was difficult dropping it down to just ten, but hopefully, the justification will make sense. Let's start with an honorable mention.

Honorable mention: Mohawk Mark

Voiced by: Steven Yeun

Mohawk Mark Grayson was the best of the Invincible variants. He was witty, strong, and completely unhinged. He wasn’t the strongest of the group, but, somehow, he seemed to do the most damage.

Invincible Confirms Season 4 Release Window, Teases Casting for Major Series Villain
Image
Kneel before Grand Regent Thragg, coming soon to Invincible.

"No new episode today, so how about an everything we know about Season 4 so far post?" the Invincible Instagram page wrote the week after its season finale premiered, confirming that season 4 will return next year. The post also confirmed that voicework for season 4 is complete and, besides the main cast, a voice actor has been selected for Thragg, the Viltrumite Empire's ruler and ultimate villain of the Invincible franchise.

View this post on InstagramA post shared by Invincible (@invincible.hq)

While the identity of Thragg's actor remains unknown, season 3's events teased a build-up to the comic's Viltrumite War arc, pitting Invincible, Omni-Man, Allen the Alien, and the Coalition of Planets against Thragg and his remaining Viltrumite forces. This included Omni-Man's confession that less than 50 pure-blooded Viltrumites remain in the galaxy, with the remainder of their people being wiped out by...

‘Invincible’ Creator Confirms a Major Comic Character Is Coming in Season 4

The creator of Invincible just confirmed that a crucial character is coming in Season 4. The Invincible Season 3 finale hit Prime Video last week to widespread acclaim, and it has landed as one of the highest-rated episodes of TV ever. The last installment introduced Jeffrey Dean Morgan as the powerful Viltrumite, Conquest, who seemingly kills Eve (Gillian Jacobs) and beats Mark (Steven Yeun) within an inch of his life without breaking a sweat. However, while Conquest positioned himself as the most powerful Viltrumite in the universe, there is another who is widely considered to be much stronger. During a recent interview with Variety, Invincible creator Robert Kirkman confirmed that Grand Regent Thragg is coming in Season 4, and while he declined to say who, he revealed the character has already been cast:...

The ‘Invincible’ Season 3 Finale Just Fixed One of the Comics' Worst Scenes
Image
Editor's Note: The following contains spoilers for Invincible Season 3.Few projects have had as much of an impact on the superhero genre as Invincible. Created by Robert Kirkman and Cory Walker, this comic series was animated a few years ago and quickly became one of Amazon Prime's most popular projects ever. From its inspirational hero Mark (Steven Yeun) to the blood-soaked conflicts that surround him, viewers have been astounded with the nuanced way it portrays what a world with superhumans could actually look like. Yet while it focuses on our teenage protagonist, one character has risen to become many watchers' favorite: the matter manipulator herself, Atom Eve (Gillian Jacobs). A young woman who can change the world at a molecular level, she has proven herself to be one of the series' most complex characters...though you wouldn't know that from reading the comics. The 10 Most Powerful Viltrumites In Invincible
Image
Both the original "Invincible" Image Comics series (created by Robert Kirkman and Corey Walker, and with over a hundred of issues of art by Ryan Ottley) and the Amazon Prime Video TV series stand out among a crowded landscape of superheroes. Whether it's for their colorful characters or their unique perspective on the superhero genre, "Invincible" is worth paying attention to.

As subversive as "Invincible" can be, however, it still lends itself to the oldest comic shop arguments imaginable: Who would win? We've already ranked the strongest characters in "Invincible" overall, but getting more specific, we also wanted to look at the Viltrumites who dominate the series' power-rankings at large. In doing so, we found the strongest of the strong: the 10 most powerful Viltrumites in "Invincible."

Invincible Season 3's Finale Is One Of IMDb's Highest-Rated Episodes Ever
Image
Spoilers ahead for "Invincible."

"Invincible" season 3 has come and gone with just as much critical praise and fanfare as the show's two prior seasons. According to one specific rubric, it even hit a new high for the show. At the time of this writing, the "Invincible" season 3 finale, "I Thought You'd Never Shut Up," holds a near-perfect 9.9/10 audience score on IMDb. That's just a small notch above the penultimate episode of season 3, which holds a 9.8. Both episodes have eclipsed the IMDb score for the season 1 finale, "Where I Really Come From," which remains one of the most iconic episodes of television from the past decade.

Hitting a new stride (at least in the eyes of some fans) in its third season is a huge accomplishment for "Invincible," and it bodes well for the show's future. Prime Video has one of the best reputations for renewing streaming shows long-term, in part...

Yeun played Glenn and Morgan played Negan in the AMC series, which sees Negan brutally killing Glenn. Meanwhile, the Invincible season 3 ending has Mark and Conquest in a harrowing and even bloodier fight that ultimately ends with Mark defeating the formidable Viltrumite.

While speaking with Variety, Kirkman clarifies that while Mark defeating Conquest is "a nice bit of justice" for Glenn, The Walking Dead rematch is not the main reason Morgan was cast to voice Conquest. Kirkman knew that Morgan was the perfect actor to play Conquest, especially after seeing him make his debut in The Boys. Instead of being distracting or even ruining the fight between Mark and Conquest,...

How Invincible season 4 is setting up the show’s real big bad
Image
With another season of Invincible coming to an end, fans of Amazon’s adult animated superhero drama correctly guessed that the long-awaited adaptation of the “Invincible War” arc would be a bloodbath. Creator Robert Kirkman gave us the long-awaited debut of The Walking Dead's Jeffrey Dean Morgan as the war-torn Viltrumite known as Conquest in the penultimate episode, and with Twd alumni Steven Yeun voicing the titular Invincible, we got a bloody showdown worthy of their respective characters (Negan and Glenn) in AMC’s hit zombie series.

While Mark Grayson comes out of his Conquest clash with some serious emotional and physical scars, a terrific trio of Invincible, Atom Eve (Gillian Jacobs) and Oliver Grayson (Christian Convery) put Conquest firmly in his place. A last-minute tease suggests this isn’t the last we’ll see of Conquest, and even though those who've read the comics knew this was likely the case,...

‘Invincible’ Creator Robert Kirkman on That Conquest Finale Fight, Surprise ‘Walking Dead’ Reunion and Mark Fighting Satan in Unused Comic Storyline
Image
Spoiler Alert: This article contains major spoilers for the Season 3 finale of “Invincible,” now streaming on Prime Video, and minor spoilers for the “Invincible” comics.

Invincible can’t catch a break.

In the aftermath of the Invincible War, where Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun) had to fight evil versions of himself from different realities as they caused massive destruction on Earth, here comes Conquest: a grizzled, battle-hardened Viltrumite ready to fight.

Conquest arrives in the Season 3 finale because Mark hasn’t prepared Earth for a Viltrumite takeover, and now he must pay the price. What follows is the most devastating, gruesome fight since the Invincible vs. Omni-Man battle at the end of Season 1. Conquest is one of the most fearsome and unhinged villains in the “Invincible” universe — and it marks a fun “Walking Dead” reunion as Yeun, who starred as Glenn in the zombie series, faces off against Conquest voice actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan,...

Robert Kirkman Teases ‘Invincible’ Season 4 with Unused Comic Story Where Mark Battles the Devil
Image
Big things are happening in the world of ‘Invincible.’ Season 3 just wrapped up with a wild finale, and now creator Robert Kirkman is dropping some exciting hints about what’s next. We’re talking about Mark Grayson, voiced by Steven Yeun, possibly heading to hell to take on Satan himself in Season 4. Yeah, you heard that right—Mark might be punching the devil in the face.

Let’s back up a bit. Season 3 ended with a insane fight between Mark and a Viltrumite named Conquest, voiced by Jeffrey Dean Morgan. This guy was brutal, smashing Mark through a beach full of people and leaving a trail of chaos. It was bloody, it was intense, and it had us glued to the screen. Eve, played by Gillian Jacobs, woke up from a coma with a robotic leg and jumped in to help, but Conquest didn’t hold back—he ripped her...

The Invincible Season 3 Finale Shows Why The MCU Is Failing
Image
This article contains spoilers for "Invincible."

Three seasons in, it's safe to say that "Invincible" is one of the best shows on TV or streaming. It's visually stunning, buoyed by the talents of a star-studded voice cast, and has some of the strongest writing of any genre series currently airing. The show is as good as it's ever been at the end of season 3, and some of the more expensive comic book adaptations on the block could afford to study "Invincible." The Marvel Cinematic Universe, in particular, could learn a thing or two from the season 3 finale alone.

After a season consisting mostly of episodic storylines, character building for Oliver (Christian Convery), Eve (Gillian Jacobs), and Cecil (Walton Goggins), and Mark (Steven Yeun) growing into his own responsibility, the last two episodes are a hard shock to the system. Fans of the comics would have been ready for the "Invincible War" arc,...

According to creator Robert Kirkman, Invincible is aiming for an annual release, with a new season arriving every year.

“I think that the release schedule that we’re in is much more what we can expect going forward, as opposed to the release schedule we were in between season 1 and 2,” he told DiscussingFilm, in response to the two-year gap between the first two seasons of the show.

Invincible Creator Confirms [Spoiler]'s Fate After Season 3 Finale Battle And Teases Season 4
Image
Invincible wrapped up its third season in typically violent fashion, with almost the entire episode dedicated to a vicious brawl between Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun) and a particularly powerful and bloodthirsty Viltrumite known as Conquest.

After almost 30 minutes of brutal battle, Mark is finally able to defeat his foe with some help from his brother Oliver (Christian Convery) and Atom Eve (Gillian Jacobs). Invincible allows his Viltrumite side to manifest, smashing Conquest's skull in with his own head.

The villain certainly looks dead, but we then learn that Cecil (Walton Goggins) has preserved "the body" so he can be questioned about the movements of the Viltrum Empire.

"I think a Cecil interrogating Conquest scene, with Walton Goggins and Jeffrey Dean Morgan going head-to-head, that'd be a pretty cool, intense scene," creator Robert Kirkman tells EW. "But to put it more succinctly, I don't think Cecil would've gone to all the...

Invincible Season 3 Finale Post-Credits Scene Explained
Image
The following contains spoilers for "Invincible" season 3.

"Invincible" season 3 is over, and I'm devastated -- partly because the last two episodes were nonstop horror and brutality, and partly because we've now entered the waiting phase until season 4. Though the death toll from Conquest and the Invincible War are enormous (Rip Rex), the season ends with at least a few bits of optimism and solace: Mark (Steven Yeun) and Eve (Gillian Jacobs) reaffirm their commitment to each other, Oliver (Christian Convery) begins to step further into his power, Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons) and Allen (Seth Rogen) are working against the Viltrum Empire, and despite all the devastation, Earth manages to fend off a series of major threats.

That said, the season also ends with several big threats looming in the shadows. A closing montage shows the Sequids building strength, while Angstrom Levy (Sterling K. Brown) remains at large, now under the control of the mysterious Technicians.

‘Invincible’ Season 3, Episode 8 Ending Explained: Conquest’s Arrival Ends Bloody
Image
Note: The following story contains spoilers from “Invincible” Season 3 Episode 8.

Conquest’s arrival on “Invincible” was one of the most hotly anticipated moments from fans of the comic book series and it didn’t disappoint.

Season 3 of the Prime Video animated series put Mark Grayson aka Invincible (Steven Yeun) through the ringer and the final episodes were the most brutal. Clean-up from the aptly named Invincible War – where Earth was beset by a multiversal army of morally questionable Invincibles – had barely begun before Conquest showed up. His arrival was teased at the end of Season 2 and comic fans knew to expect one of the bloodiest fights of the show when he did.

That’s exactly what we got.

Below, Invincible and Conquest’s brutal fight is broken down and those final teases for Season 4 are explained.

Invincible: Atom Eve's Powers, Explained
Image
Spoilers for "Invincible" (both the TV show and the comics) to follow.

The whole premise of "Invincible" is a kid trying to live up to his dad — only his dad is the world's greatest superhero. The story soon reveals Nolan Grayson aka Omni-Man (J.K Simmons) isn't all he appears to be, but from the start Mark Grayson aka Invincible (Steven Yeun) has been from a family of heroes. Over the series, that family grows. As of season 3, Mark's kid half-brother Oliver (Christian Convery) is Kid Omni-Man, and Invincible is dating the matter-rearranging superheroine Atom Eve (Gillian Jacobs).

There's a lot of Spider-Man in "Invincible" — Eve is Mark's Mary Jane, red hair and all, only she has powers like her boyfriend does too. Mark's first girlfriend, Amber (Zazie Beetz), shows why a superhero trying to date a normal person wouldn't work. Eve is nowhere near as physically strong as a Viltrumite,...

The long-gestating Community movie remains on the backburner as its stars' schedules clash. However, star Joel McHale offers a positive progress report on the upcoming feature-length adaptation of the hit sitcom while hilariously revealing a spoiler.

Speaking on Jesse Tyler Ferguson's Dinner's On Me podcast, McHale addressed the status of the Community movie and what's holding up production after the film was announced in 2022. However, McHale reiterated that scheduling conflicts remain at the heart of the movie's production delays.

Image
A new clip from the Invincible season 3 finale has been released, showing the start of Mark's fight with Conquest as the Viltrumite explains himself. The cast of Invincible season 3 is expanding with its final episode, as the Viltrumite warrior Conquest (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) has arrived on Earth. Mark (Steven Yeun) is still reeling after the Invincible War, which saw 18 of his evil multiverse counterparts destroy major areas of the world. However, he's now going to have to fight this new threat to protect both the world and the people he loves.

Now, IGNhas released a clip from Invincible season 3, episode 8, featuring Conquest standing over Mark while speaking about his purpose for being on Earth. 'Give Steven [Yeun] His Chance at Redemption': Jeffrey Dean Morgan Addresses His Walking Dead Reunion On Invincible
Image
As fans of The Walking Dead will know, Negan, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, killed Glenn, played by Steven Yeun, in one of the show's biggest moments. It was one of the most brutal and heartwrenching deaths in a show full of people getting eaten by zombies in quite a vivid fashion.

Given Glenn's fate, he won't be getting revenge against Negan in the world of The Walking Dead. And yet, Robert Kirkman (who co-created both Invincible and The Walking Dead), it seems, no small fan of irony, as Invincible will pit the two actors against each other once more. This time,Morgan won’t be the one walking away.

How Putting Morgan In The Role Gives Yeun a Chance To Avenge A Fallen Hero

That Morgan plays the role feels not only fitting but ironic - the man who played Negan, Glenn’s killer, now playing Conquest is almost...

Invincible – “What Have I Done?” – Season 3 Episode 7 Spoiler Recap and Review
Image
When a foe from Mark’s past returns with a vengeance, his entire reality will buckle under the pressure. Invincible dives into some of it’s most violent footage yet, but this time layers it with the emotional heft our heroes. It’s been a long time since Nolan (J.K. Simmons) destroyed the Guardians of the Globe, but this is the closest thing we’ve seen since.

Invincible – “What Have I Done?” – The Recap

After what seemed like a death blow, Angstrom Levy (Sterling K. Brown) somehow survived a beating at the hands of Invincible. He opens a portal to an alternate dimension, where he crawls to find Technicians who can help him recover. Months later, he unleashes an “Army of Invincibles” on Mark’s reality. Angstrom tells them to destroy whatever they can so that everyone will hate Mark.

Invincible Season 3 Episode 7's Major Death Is Heartbreaking
Image
This article contains major spoilers for "Invincible."

If you've read the "Invincible" comics and know the endgame, then you've probably been watching season 3 with dread. Not because the season is bad, far from it. No, because you knew the ending was going to be a bloodbath and that one major character wouldn't be making it out.

The penultimate episode of season 3 — "What Have I Done?" — adapts "Invincible War." Angstrom Levy (Sterling K. Brown) enacts his latest revenge scheme against Invincible/Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun) by bringing Invincibles from different realities to his. To go home, the Invincibles have to destroy Mark's Earth -- "our" Earth.

One of the Invincibles, and an especially sadistic one, attacks the Teen Team base, overpowering Robot, Monster Girl, and Bulletproof. So, Rex Splode (Jason Mantzoukas) stays behind to fight him and let the others escape. When it seems like all is over for Rex, he...

One Oscar-Winning Invincible Actor Was Recast And Fans Totally Missed It
Image
"Invincible" has the most star-studded voice cast you're likely to find anywhere on an American animated TV show. From its leading trio of Steven Yeun, Sandra Oh, and J.K. Simmons to supporting stars like Gillian Jacobs, Walton Goggins, Sterling K. Brown, Peter Cullen, and others, it's hard to keep track of the many award-winning performers who've lent their vocal talents to the Amazon series. Perhaps that's why many viewers didn't notice that Mahershala Ali was recast for the show's third season, with Todd Williams taking over the role of Titan.

In fairness, Titan was entirely absent from "Invincible" season 2, leaving a few years for fans to forget his exact voice. And to his credit, Williams does a great job with the character in season 3. A sympathetic henchman and occasional vigilante early on, Titan is kind of a blend of Marvel's The Thing and Luke Cage. He sets himself up as...

Does Atom Eve Cheat on Mark? What Fans Can Expect in Invincible Season 3
Image
Quick LinksDid Eve Cheat On Mark In the Invincible Comics? What Is the Status of Mark and Eve In Invincible Season 3?The Invincible Show Has a More Mature Mark and Eve

The following contains spoilers for the Invincible comics and Invincible Season 3, now streaming on Prime Video.

The love triangle between Amber, Mark Grayson and Atom Eve (aka Samantha) is one of Invincible's most engaging arcs. In Robert Kirkman and Ryan Ottley's comics, Mark left Amber to be with Eve. The TV series, however, added more depth to Amber and Mark's romance, rather than just having him lust for Eve. It made it more difficult for both to part ways, citing how Amber couldn't remain in Mark's life due to his dangerous lifestyle.

In Invincible Season 3, Amber and Mark are broken up, but they remain friends in a healthy relationship. It allowed Mark and Eve to finally begin dating.

Is ‘Invincible’ Already Hinting at These Two Characters Becoming a Couple?
Image
Editor's Note: The following contains spoilers for Invincible Season 3, Episode 6.The current season of Invincibleis bringing in multiple plot points from the first two seasons to a head, while retaining the same sense of emotional catharsis and bloody violence that made it a standout in the superhero landscape. It's also seeing a few romantic relationships blossoming. Invincible (Steven Yeun) and Atom Eve (Gillian Jacobs) finally acted on their long-smoldering romantic feelings for each other. The Immortal (Ross Marquand) proposed to Dupli-Kate (Malese Jow). Even the villains find love: Season 3's "You Wanted A Real Costume, Right?" opens with a silent montage of former criminals Tether Tyrant and Magmaniac attempting to walk the straight and narrow road before circumstances forced them to return to villainy. There's one couple that the show is slowly bringing together, and it makes perfect sense:Rex Splode (Jason Mantzoukas) and Shrinking Rae (Grey Griffin).

Aaron Paul's Invincible Season 3 Villain Is A Marvelous Riff On A Spider-Man Foe
Image
This article contains spoilers for "Invincible."

A superhero is only as good as their villains. "Invincible" knows this and has produced some memorable enemies for Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun) — from his own father Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons), an alien invader disguised as a superhero, to dimension-traveler Angstrom Levy (Sterling K. Brown). The sixth and latest episode of "Invincible" season 3 — "All I Can Say Is I'm Sorry" — introduces another foe worthy of Invincible, one who poses the questions that Mark needs to be asking himself.

Now, "Invincible" creator Robert Kirkman has so far failed to get Bryan Cranston on the show, but Cranston's former "Breaking Bad" co-star Aaron Paul is another story. Paul was announced to be joining "Invincible" back in January, shortly before the season premiered, and his character is Scott Duvall/Powerplex.

"Invincible" pulls a lot from the stories of Spider-Man. Mark doesn't do whatever a spider can, but like Peter Parker,...
