Earlier this summer, the cult hit Snakes on a Plane celebrated its 10th Anniversary, and as implausible as that movie was, it just became a reality for a group of Mexican airline passengers. During an AeroMexico flight from Torreon to Mexico City yesterday, passenger Indalecio Medina posted a video to social media, which shows a massive snake, believed to be a venomous green viper, falling from an overhead compartment to the main cabin. The plane was given priority clearance to land in Mexico City so that animal control could properly remove the snake.
While it still isn't known how the snake even got on the plane, Upi reports that Indalecio Medina captured the snake in a blanket and gave it some "magazines to read." He also posted another brief video on Twitter that shows animal control workers removing the snake. Here's what a representative for AeroMexico airlines had to say in a statement.

Driver For The Dead (Collection)
2011 160pgs
Radical Publishing
Every once in a while I get something across my desk that’s a little different, a little unique. It’s not always a good thing. But in the case of Driver For The Dead, it’s a breath of fresh air in comic market that can get overburdened by formula and market share. D4tD is the brain child of John Heffernan, screenwriter of cult sensation Snakes On A Plane. The story follows Alabaster Graves, a man with a mysterious past who specializes in getting bodies to their final place of rest. These aren’t just any dead bodies (some aren’t entirely dead, for that matter), but bodies of all manner of beasts and cursed beings.

Paramount Pictures has hired John Glenn (Eagle Eye, Identity) to rewrite an untitled sci-fi project, previously referred to as Abducted, that the studio had acquired from John Heffernan (Snakes on a Plane) back in June.
While no details on the story have been released, Variety says the project has been described as Die Hard on an alien spaceship. The film will be produced by Cale Boyter and Mary Parent of Disruption Entertainment who we recently reported would be producing Hyperdrive for Paramount, which was described as “a cross between The Fifth Element and 48 Hrs.”
No production or release dates have been announced for the project.

Abducted was originally obtained by Paramount as a project for screenwriter John Heffernan (Snakes on a Plane), but it has now taken another direction: According to Deadline, Eagle Eye co-writer John Glenn has been hired to re-imagine the science fiction thriller.
The story seems simple and pretty self-explanatory, considering the project’s title. It will center on an alien abduction of a group of everyday Americans; they end up battling the aliens in order to get off the spacecraft. Going off of that, I wouldn’t be surprised if the movie ends up having a big budget, young cast, and a summer release date. However, no specifics have been determined yet.
Mary Parent (Role Models) and Cale Boyter (Semi-Pro) will produce the project, with J.C. Spink, Chris Bender, and Jake Weiner onboard as executive producers. Glenn, meanwhile, has previously worked on drafts of Clash of the Titans and the aforementioned Eagle Eye.

A sci-fi action project by director John Heffernan may not have a title yet, but it does have a writer. Variety reports that John Glenn, the writer behind Eagle Eye, has been tapped to re-write the script. The project, previously known as Abducted, was picked up by Paramount in June of this year and is set up through Mary Parent’s Disruption Entertainment. Parent and Cale Boyter are producing the pic, pitched as “Die Hard on an alien spaceship.” Brett Ratner’s next directorial project has itself a writer and a title. Ann Peacock (The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe) has been tapped to write Hunting Eichmann, an international thriller based on true accounts. Deadline reports that the project follows Israeli agents in their journey to Argentina to capture Adolph Eichmann, one of the major Nazi organizers behind the Holocaust. Ratner and Anthony Bregman (Our Idiot Brother...

Paramount Pictures has found a new writer to breathe some life into Abducted. Deadline reports that John Glenn has been hired to re-imagine the sci-fi thriller originally conceived by John Heffernan. Disruption Entertainment’s Mary Parent and Cale Boyter are producing the film that centers around "an alien abduction of a group of average Americans who decide to take on the aliens and battle their way off the extrarerrestrial craft."
Glenn was responsible for writing initial drafts of Clash of the Titans and Eagle Eye, and is writing the hour-long Treasure Island for NBC. I am interested to see what take he has on this new project, but am a bit worried because Titans and Eagle Eye were not too good. What are your thoughts?...

Paramount is planning on making a movie described as "Die Hard on a spaceship." Snakes on a Plane scribe John Heffernan wrote the spec script and former MGM studio head Mary Parent plans to make the movie. No real info is available on the storyline but paint us intrigued...and now that original Die Hard villain Alan Rickman is available following the end of his role as Snape in the Harry Potter movies...may we make a casting suggestion?

Not horror but the pitch his hands down one of the best I've heard all year. Paramount Pictures has purchased a sci-fi action script from Snakes on a Plane scribe John Heffernan described as Die Hard on an alien spaceship. No title or other info, but that's all I need to get excited. Let's just hope that Heffernan actually understands the John McClane character (unlike Len Wiseman) -- our protagonist cannot be Superman... Further into development is Warner Bros. Pictures time-travel actioner All You Need Is Kill that will be rewritten by Army of the Dead's Joby Harold. Warners brought Doug Liman on board in August, but he may first direct Paramount's Luna, which follows renegade scientists stealing an energy source from the moon.

Driver for the Dead #2 keeps the peddle to the metal adding layers to an already interesting plot, but letting up on the gore, suspense, and action. Writer John Heffernan settles you into moments of quiet discomfort and then whips your neck with startling twists (some characters suffer the twists on your behalf)! Illustrator Leonardo Manco is still delivering the goods, having fun by playfully building in characters with likenesses to prominent super stars. Last issue, Morgan Freeman appeared to be the template for the now deceased Moses Freeman. In Issue #2, we are introduced to Aunt Sadie, whose grin is none other’s than Oscar Winner Mo’Nique. The story continues where it left off as the titular hearse driver, Alabaster Graves, picks up the Freeman’s corpse from the township of Shreveport, Louisiana, with Freeman’s great-granddaughter, Marissa. Meanwhile, Uriah Fallow, the scavenger zombie, has been hunting down powerful ...

There's just Nothing like a good old fashioned Clive Barker penned tale of the macabre and terror. The author/filmmaker/artist has been terrifying his fans for decades, and through those years we've seen several film adaptations that have met with varying degrees of success. Sit back, kids! There's another one coming.
The next horror yarn being worked up to head to the big screen will be Barker's Resurrection Man. Writers John Heffernan and Jorge Saralegui are currently penning the screenplay for the film, which is being described as an action thriller. No other details were available at press time.
Saralegui is no stranger to Barker's work as he has produced a few other Barker adaptations including Dread, The Plague, Midnight Meat Train, and Book of Blood.
Look for more on Resurrection Man soon.

Driver for the Dead #1 (of 3) by Radical Comics sounded like it was just another comic book hitched to the zombie bandwagon. Luckily, in creator/writer John Heffernan's (Snakes on a Plane) capable hands, Driver for the Dead succeeds in paying homage to the horror genre by borrowing elements not only from the zombies, but also vampires, demonic possession, witchcraft, and slasher gore. Illustrator Leonardo Manco (Hellblazer) was a nice fit for the project given his background drawing brooding, troubled, unshaven, and wrinkle-suited protagonists. The only set-back to an otherwise entertaining tale was the glaring oversell for this title as a potential Hollywood script. At the start of the book set in Louisiana, Moses Freeman, a stoic, aging black man who shares a striking resemblance to Academy Award Winner Morgan Freeman, performs a complicated exorcism of a home in Shreveport, Louisiana. Unfortunately, Freeman does not survive the ritual and sends...
