Lea Michele Recalls How Cory Monteith’s Death “Fractured” Her Bond With ‘Glee’ Co-Stars
Image
Nearly 12 years later, Lea Michele recently reflected on the 2013 death of her Glee co-star and late boyfriend Cory Monteith.

The 2x Golden Globe nominee explained that she “just completely broke” after Monteith died at age 31 of combined heroin and alcohol toxicity, noting that her relationship with her co-stars felt “really fractured” following his death.

“I was 26 and no one handed me a guidebook. It was a fast education on more stuff than I could ever even process,” she said on the Therapuss podcast of grieving in the public eye.

“If we didn’t show up for work then people wouldn’t have work to go to,” added Michele. “And that was a lot of pressure for me, so I had to put my stuff aside and just show up, so that everybody could continue to work.”

When asked if Monteith’s death brought the cast closer together, she explained, “I...

Most Fans Completely Missed the Point of One of the 2010s' Biggest Shows
Image
Glee is a satirical television show about a high school choir group. The show comments on the entertainment industry's lack of opportunities for diverse performers and the isolating nature of musical theater. Glee has a lasting legacy in pop culture history despite its missed intentions.

Glee managed to divide audiences as soon as it premiered in 2009. Though some audiences adored its musical elements and teen love triangles, others felt that it was all too much to bear. Thus, throughout its 6-season run, the show garnered an abundance of fans and haters, giving it a slightly skewed reputation.

Taste aside, Glee is deeply misunderstood. Its use of irony and satire is commonly overshadowed by the show's musical elements, so some audiences completely miss the point of its initial intentions. As a result, the show's true message was never properly conveyed, making it seem like a stereotypical depiction of high school theater kids.

Is Cillian Murphy Right About Red Eye?
Cillian Murphy
Cillian Murphy recently had some choice words for his film Red Eye (watch it Here), a Wes Craven-directed thriller that was released back in 2005. But he wasn’t entirely negative. So that got me thinking: Is Red Eye a good film? Or is it more in the so bad it’s good category? I personally saw Red Eye in theaters and have always had a soft spot for it. But if Oppenheimer‘s own Cillian Murphy has an issue with it, maybe it’s worth a second gander. So let’s see whether it’s good, bad, or somewhere in between as we revisit Red Eye in the video embedded above!

Scripted by Carl Ellsworth, who crafted the story with Dan Foos, Red Eye has the following synopsis: In the wake of her grandmother’s funeral, hotel manager Lisa Reisert is waiting to fly back home when she meets charming Jackson Rippner at check-in.

10 TV Shows That Abandoned Major Storylines & Were Better For It
Image
Glee wisely abandoned the Kurt-Sam crush storyline for more fulfilling same-sex relationships, adding depth to the show. New Girl's Abby Day added chaos but her unfinished storyline highlighted only the worst in others, hence her quick exit. Seinfeld stuck to its no learning mantra, avoiding on-and-off relationship dynamics and ensuring consistency.

Certain storylines in television series just do not work, and the show ended up being better off for abandoning them altogether. While it may be a strange experience for audiences to notice storylines that have dropped before they have been resolved, this was sometimes done because there was nothing to be gained from continuing unpopular stories, keeping unnecessary characters in the show, or proceeding with plotlines that nobody was engaged in anymore. This may result in the series feeling somewhat incomplete, but often this was a small price to pay for the sake of entertainment.

Some abandoned major storylines...

Cillian Murphy Gets Critical of His Fan-Favorite Wes Craven Movie
Image
Murphy enjoyed playing a dual character in Red Eye and believes that's why it has gained a cult following. Despite enjoying the experience and working with McAdams, Murphy doesn't think Red Eye is a good movie, but rather a good B movie. Red Eye received positive reviews from critics, scored well with audiences, and was a successful box office hit.

Cillian Murphy has been riding the high of the awards season thanks to his role in Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer, for which he is currently Oscar-nominated, but the actor is looking back on a fan favorite 2005 film that, in an assertion that might shock some fans, he doesn't think is very good.

12 TV Characters Who Became Way Bigger Than They Were Supposed To
Image
Characters in TV shows can become more important than originally planned due to factors like audience popularity and actor talent. Supporting characters can often become the driving force of a show and have a significant impact on the narrative. The decision to elevate minor characters to major roles can lead to the success and longevity of a show.

Since there is no way to know how many seasons TV shows will get, it is impossible for them to have a fully laid-out plan for the plot, and some characters may end up becoming a lot more important than they were originally supposed to be. This can happen for a variety of reasons, such as the character becoming popular with audiences, another actor abruptly exiting the show and giving way to this character turning into a regular, the actor's natural talent and charm that even the showrunners can't resist, and so on.

10 Great TV Shows That Had The Wrong Person As The Main Character
Image
Some main characters in TV shows can fall short, overshadowed by flaws or inadequacies that make them less suitable as the lead. The success of a show often hinges on the strength of its central character, but sometimes supporting cast or even villains shine brighter. Flawed main characters can disrupt the camaraderie and overall success of a show, highlighting the importance of a compelling protagonist.

When it comes to television shows, the main character often takes center stage — but sometimes, the protagonist falls short, leaving viewers eager to see more of other characters instead. Whether it's due to poorly developed character arcs, insufferable personality traits, or a series of questionable decisions, some main characters end up as the weakest link in otherwise promising TV shows. Such scenarios highlight the significant role main characters play in determining a show's overall success, as well as how a single misstep can reshape the perspective.

Disnechanted: The Main Characters Ranked By Likability
Image
Enchanted was bursting with likable characters and its sequel, Disenchanted, is no different, with both familiar and new faces rounding out its entertaining cast. Giselle finally got the partner and life of her dreams, but Happily Ever After isn't always a fairytale, causing her usual perky positivity to plummet. Trying to make the real world as enchanting as her beloved Andalasia means running afoul of several unlikable foes, like Malvina Monroe, when she moves from the big city to the quaint little town of Monroeville.

Whether certain serious characters like Robert get to be more silly and Pip causes the expected chaos, to Giselle discovering that she's capable of selfishness even as she only wants what's best for others, the most likable characters are genuine, friendly, and altruistic.

Malvina Monroe

While it's clear that Maya Rudolph is having the best time portraying the despicable Malvina Monroe, there's nothing likable about her Evil Queen-esque character.

‘Disenchanted’ Review: Amy Adams Sequel Breaks the Spell
Patrick Dempsey, James Marsden, Amy Adams, Idina Menzel, Maya Rudolph, Yvette Nicole Brown, Jayma Mays, Griffin Newman, and Gabriella Baldacchino in Disenchanted (2022)
What happens after the happily ever after? That’s the cheeky, and intriguing, question “Disenchanted” asks. The answers it comes up with, alas, aren’t quite the stuff dreams are made of.

Instead, this straight-to-streaming sequel seems to have been designed with another aim in mind: attracting as many festivity-fatigued families as possible. And in that, it’s likely to succeed. Because while “Disenchanted” is not entirely enchanting, it is a brightly energetic escape in the grand Disney tradition.

Unfortunately, there are other elements from the Disney tradition that should have been left behind. That, after all, was the point of 2007’s “Enchanted,” a disarmingly post-modern fairy tale that pulled Disney into the present with wit and charm.

‘Disenchanted’ (2022) – A Disney Movie Starring Amy Adams- Review: Diffuse
Image
Disenchanted is a multi-genre musical movie starring Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey. This sequel to Enchanted (2007) is directed by Adam Shankman.

With the customary Disney production quality, a great lead actress, and cast, with as much irony as there is sweet, sweet, sweetness, we are offered a movie that aims to laugh at itself, and will appease the most eeeevil of cynics among us.

Premise

This is a story of what happens after the “happily ever after”. Giselle is married and seemingly happy in New York. Life starts to take a toll, after years of marriage, becoming a mother, the humdrum of it all simply is dull. But then, she sees a sign, a billboard advertising Monroeville. Without hesitation Robert and Giselle decide to relocate to that idyllic and magical suburban town that reminds her oh so much of Andalasia.

Disenchanted Reviews Agree Sequel Can't Compare To Original Enchanted
Patrick Dempsey, James Marsden, Amy Adams, Idina Menzel, Maya Rudolph, Yvette Nicole Brown, Jayma Mays, Griffin Newman, and Gabriella Baldacchino in Disenchanted (2022)
Early Disenchanted reviews agree that the film can't compare to Enchanted. The original film, which came to theaters in 2007, followed an animated future princess named Giselle (Amy Adams) as she is sent to real-life New York City, where she falls in love with cynical divorce lawyer Robert (Patrick Dempsey). Now, 15 years later, Disenchanted has dropped on Disney+, following Giselle and her family a decade later as a wish for her happily ever after to be more like a fairy tale goes wrong and accidentally turns her into a wicked stepmother. The cast includes Maya Rudolph, Jayma Mays, Griffin Newman, and Yvette Nicole Brown, along with returning performers Dempsey, James Marsden, and Idina Menzel.

Today, the embargo lifted on reviews of Disenchanted, so critics were able to share their thoughts on the belated sequel. Critics generally admit that seeing the cast return in their original roles will push viewers' nostalgia buttons,...

Image
Plot: It has been 15 years since Giselle and Robert wed, but Giselle has grown disillusioned with life in the city, so they move their growing family to the sleepy suburban community of Monroeville in search of a more fairy-tale life. Frustrated that her happily ever after hasn’t been so easy to find, she turns to the magic of Andalasia for help, accidentally transforming the entire town into a real-life fairy tale and placing her family’s future happiness in jeopardy. Now, Giselle is in a race against time to reverse the spell and determine what happily ever after truly means to her and her family.

Review: 2007’s Enchanted was a surprisingly good time thanks to a blend of cheeky humor poking fun at the legacy of Disney animated fairy tales with catchy musical numbers. With Amy Adams impeccably portraying a princess transplanted in New York City from her animated fairytale realm,...

‘Disenchanted’ Review: Amy Adams Is Stuck in Suburbia in an Adorable (and Unnecessary) Sequel
Image
Over the course of 15 years, Amy Adams’ zest for musical fairytales hasn’t faltered one bit. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for all of her co-stars. “Disenchanted,” the sequel to Disney’s beloved “Enchanted,” lands on Disney+ over a decade after the original first charmed audiences.

But hey, it’s still half the time it took for “Hocus Pocus 2” to be made. Whatever is in the water over at the Walt Disney Company, both casts have barely changed, and it feels like no time has passed on the magical ticking clock of aging. But was it worth the wait?

Adams gives it her wide-eyed all in “Disenchanted,” reprising her role of Andalasian princess Giselle, who stumbled into Manhattan through a botched portal and fell for divorce attorney and single father Robert (Patrick Dempsey) all those years ago. The sequel, also starring returning scene-stealers James Mardsen and Idina Menzel,...

Maya Rudolph reveals why audience will love 'Disenchanted'
Image
Hollywood actress-comedian Maya Rudolph, who plays the villain Malvina in the musical fantasy film ‘Disenchanted’, feels the film’s honesty about domestic life will resonate with the audience.

Elaborating on the same, she said, “I think people will love ‘Disenchanted’ for its honesty about domestic life. Giselle (played by Amy Adams) is well-intentioned in her efforts to create a fairytale life for her family, but life cannot always be a fairytale. Through it all, it is just important to think about all the little moments we take for granted with people special to us.”

Amy Adams, who essays the role of Giselle Philip, feels that change is a natural process and is the only constant, ironically.

Sharing her thoughts on the movie, Amy Adams said, “It’s about understanding that change is a natural part of life. And the more we fight change and try to return to who we were,...

Disenchanted Clip Reveals New Giselle Musical Number
Image
A new clip from Disney+'s Disenchanted shows off a brand-new musical number. The film, which hits the streaming service on November 18, is a sequel to the 2007 film Enchanted, which followed an animated princess named Giselle (Amy Adams) being transported to real-life New York City and falling in love with cynical divorce lawyer Robert (Patrick Dempsey). Included among her many fish-out-of-water antics is her ability to bring full-on musical numbers to life around her, as she does in Central Park for "That's How You Know," a song encouraging Robert to make sure his then-fiancée was reminded of how much he loves her.

Walt Disney Studios has now released a new clip showing off the second, brand-new number from the Disenchanted songbook. The song, which is titled "Even More Enchanted," was co-written by the original Enchanted songwriters Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz, who both agreed to return to write the film's soundtrack.

Disenchanted Trailer Reveals New Musical Number For Enchanted Sequel
Image
Disney's new Disenchanted trailer reveals the first musical number from the highly-anticipated Enchanted sequel. The musical fairy tale flick first charmed audiences in 2007, introducing the world to Amy Adams as Princess Giselle of Andalasia. Featuring a blend of live-action and classic animation, Enchanted paid homage to Disney princess stories in a satirical way. Nearly a decade and a half later, Adams is set to reprise Giselle alongside a cast of fresh and familiar faces.

Disenchanted picks up ten years after the first film as Giselle swaps city life for the suburbs with her husband Robert (Patrick Dempsey) and stepdaughter Morgan (Gabriella Baldacchino). Though she tries to nestle in, Giselle is yearning for the nostalgia of her old fairy tale dwellings. When she attempts to bring it back with a spell, things go horribly wrong, transforming the sweet princess into a wicked stepmother. Idina Menzel and James Marsden return for the...

Disenchanted Trailer: Happily Ever After Isn't Always That Easy
Image
15 years after "Enchanted" hit theaters, we're finally about to follow up with the lovely Giselle (Amy Adams) and see what the real world has had in store for her. If the newest trailer for "Disenchanted" is anything to go by, she's had to make some big adjustments. Not only has she been married to attorney Robert (Patrick Dempsey) for 10 years, but she's also become the stepmother to his now teenage daughter, Morgan (Gabriella Baldacchino). Add this prototypical tension to the stresses of moving to the suburbs, and Giselle has found herself in over her head.

So, what does a fairy tale character do to alleviate these stresses? You obviously use a magic wand to cast a spell that turns the entire suburb into a fairy tale. Maybe that logic has a few flaws that we see in this latest trailer, including turning into an evil stepmother, but hey, it's the thought that counts.

Ryan Murphy's Original Script For Glee Had Justin Timberlake As A Meth Addict, We Couldn't Make This Up
Image
If you're a certified Gleek, then you know that Will Schuster (a.k.a. Mr. Schue) is William McKinley High School's Spanish teacher turned extremely passionate choir director on "Glee," Fox's mega-hit about an underdog show choir and their rise to success. Mr. Schue (Matthew Morrison) enthusiastically leads the glee club through six seasons of ups and downs, but he may just be one of the creepiest characters to ever grace a television screen. His plucky, can-do charm often hides some of the more salacious aspects of his personality (just watch him in the background of any scene involving his female students dancing and you'll see what I mean), and I am still not and will probably never be over his rendition of "The Thong Song" which he performs at school for his engaged coworker, Emma (Jayma Mays) who just happens to show up in his classroom in her wedding...

Five years after the series ended, Lea Michele, who played Rachel Berry, was accused by former co-star Samantha Marie Ware of making her life a “living hell” due to “traumatic microaggressions” on the set of the show.

Ware’s allegations then ignited several otherGlee alumni to speak out against Michele’s alleged “bullying”.

Michele later apologised...
