One late-night TV star may be moving around his hours to join daytime TV. A former Daily Show correspondent is reportedly on the short list to replace outgoing talk show host Kelly Clarkson.
Rumors suggest Clarkson would like to step away from her NBC talk show, leaving the network with a hole to fill in its daily lineup. The singer began The Kelly Clarkson Show in 2019 and has hosted over 1,000 episodes at this point.
So, who does NBC have on its radar? According to sources at The New York Post, former Daily Show correspondent Roy Wood, Jr. is on the list.
Wood has experience with daytime talk and more specifically, The Kelly Clarkson Show 's timeslot. The comedian guest hosted the show multiple times over the years, so NBC knows what it would be getting by giving Wood his own show.
The New York Post's source also listed the potential competition for Wood.

Last week, The Discourse spent a couple of days being dominated by a New York magazine article with a title as stark as it was alarming: “Everyone Is Cheating Their Way Through College.” It turns out A.I. tools make it so easy for students to let robots write their papers that any moral qualms they might have about it go flying out the window. But before you fall into a terror spiral about future bridges you may want to drive on being designed by engineers who got their degrees thanks to ChatGPT, consider soothing your nerves with a college sitcom in which no one is using A.I. to plagiarize their homework because homework barely comes up at all.
Overcompensating may be set in the present day and revolve around a closeted queer kid, but it’s a late 20th century throwback in the most satisfying possible way.

Though “Brat Summer” reigned supreme last year, we’re here to mark 2025 the year of “‘Overcompensating‘ Summer,” in homage to the latest project from creator, writer, and star Benito Skinner.
The A24– and Amazon/MGM-backed series is set to premiere on Prime Video on May 15. The series, inspired by viral star Skinner’s own university experience, follows a fictional version of Benny as he navigates his freshman year as a closeted jock. This funny and personal eight-episode series features cameos from the likes of Kyle MacLachlan, Connie Britton, Kaia Gerber, Owen Thiele, and Charli xcx, who also serves as the series’ executive music producer.
“The initial idea [came from] the relationship I had with a woman in college,” Skinner told IndieWire of the show’s origins. “I went to school at Georgetown, and I was in the closet when I got there. I met this woman who I think really changed...

The ongoing legal feud between the It Ends With Us stars Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively has expanded to several people around the two Hollywood stars, including Lively’s former co-star Justin Long, for the actor’s reaction when Lively admitted to doing blackface in a resurfaced interview.
The actress has constantly been under scrutiny for making controversial remarks in her previous interviews, including one with her 2006 comedy Accepted co-stars, where she admitted to doing black face to stalk boys.

It has been nearly 14 years since Bennett Miller's brilliant sports drama "Moneyball" hit theaters. Based on Michael Lewis' book, "Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game," the film stars Brad Pitt as Billy Beane, a former MLB player and general manager of the Oakland Athletics, who attempts to assemble a competitive team with significantly less money than his rivals. With the help of Yale Economics graduate, Peter Brand (Jonah Hill), Beane scouts the MLB for undervalued players using a sabermetric approach to assembling a quality team.
"Moneyball" served as a thoroughly entertaining and compelling exploration into the behind-the-scenes machinations of baseball, rather than the formulaic sports movie approach following an underdog team's rise to the occasion against all odds. Much of the film's strengths are found within its script, which was originally written by Academy Award-winning screenwriter Steven Zaillian ("Schindler's List") and was rewritten by fellow Academy Award-winner...

However, Black Mirror isn’t the only game in town when it comes to brain-bending television. One title keeps surfacing among the sea of Reddit threads and obsessive fan posts: Maniac. Wally Baram never set out to be an actress.
She was perfectly happy cracking jokes, punching up scripts and building a stand-up career — until one day, during a writers room session for Prime Video’s Overcompensating, the producers asked her to audition. She humored them with a self-tape, fully expecting to be ignored.
Instead, one callback led to another, and then another. When the final call came offering her the part, Baram was mid-argument with her boyfriend and barely registered the news. “I hung up and went right back into the fight,” she says, laughing. Even her lawyer, stunned to see an acting contract, called her to ask, “How did this happen?”
Now, Baram, 27, is starring alongside series creator Benito Skinner in a show tailor-made for digital natives: It’s co-produced by A24, with original music by Charli Xcx (who also makes a cameo and serves as executive music producer...

Britney Spears Audition Tape Close-Up(Photo Credit –Instagram)
The Notebook almost had a different leading lady. A pop princess, to be exact. Long before Rachel McAdams cemented her place in rom-com royalty, Britney Spears came shockingly close to playing Allie Hamilton—and her long-lost audition tape just resurfaced with a jaw-dropping price tag: $1 million.
The never-before-seen clip hit eBay with the title (via Cheatsheet): “Rare: Britney Spears Audition For ‘The Notebook’ – One of a kind – original.” According to the seller, the tape was recorded in 2002 on a Sony Hi8mm camera and featured Spears reading opposite Ryan Gosling. Clocking in at just under 10 minutes, it was described as being in “brand new condition.” But here’s the catch—it was strictly for personal use only and not up for public distribution.
In the listing, the seller teased: “The Notebook made Rachel McAdams a star. Little does anyone know, Britney...

Exploring The Misfits At The Heart Of Guy Ritchie’s Snatch ( Photo Credit – Amazon Prime Video )
Guy Ritchie never really hit the brakes. He’s been working so steadily, it’s almost easy to forget how jarring and electric his early films felt. When most crime thrillers were still echoing the Quentin Tarantino boom of the 90s—full of pop-culture chatter, and over-the-top gore, Ritchie came swinging with his own distinctly British chaos.
The London underworld had been explored before, but not quite like this. His stories weren’t just blood-soaked or cheeky. They were riddled with misdirection and a kind of street-smart slapstick. Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels got his foot in the door, but Snatch cemented his place as a master of mayhem with a pen dipped in grit and wit.

Why Did Jonah Hill Settle For A Minimum Paycheck In The Wolf Of Wall Street? ( Photo Credit – Facebook )
Jonah Hill’s career has been a long game of reinvention. He started out in loud comedies and eventually landed deep in the world of high-caliber dramas. One of the biggest turning points came in The Wolf of Wall Street, where his portrayal of the unhinged, gold-chain-wearing Donnie Azoff firmly established him as more than just the funny sidekick.
While starring alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Margot Robbie in a Scorsese-directed frenzy of drugs, greed, and chaos, Hill didn’t just hold his own. He stole scenes.
Star Power But Minimum Paycheck
Jonah Hill’s paycheck for the role was shockingly humble despite the film’s A-list glamour and blockbuster status. While his co-stars raked in millions, Hill pocketed what amounted to a Hollywood minimum wage, around $60K, for nearly seven months of shooting.

Some people take improv classes to be better public speakers, others love the community and the unpredictable nature of the performance. In Deep Cover starring Bryce Dallas Howard, Orlando Bloom, and Nick Mohammed, the comedy format is deployed to infiltrate London's criminal underworld. The film released first-look images last year, but Amazon has just released a trailer for the comedy, which is coming to Prime Video on June 1st.
The film will adhere to the comedy rule of threes, teaming up a trio for the criminal mayhem. Bryce Dallas Howard plays Kat, an improv teacher who fears she may have missed her shot at fame. Orlando Bloom's character is an intense method actor who uses improv as a tool to hone his craft and stay immersed in a role, while Nick Mohammed is the window character and the audience's surrogate into the world of improv as a down-on-his-luck everyman who wants to find his confidence.

One of the best action movies of the last few years continues to prove its greatness, earning a pair of nominations at this year’s Gotham TV Awards. Multifaceted — that’s the only word that could aptly justify Jason Segel’s genius. He isn’t just one of the most memorable comedy actors in the last two decades. He’s also one of the quietest transformative guys you would come across in this lifetime.
Be it the ever-goofy Marshall Eriksen in Himym, Lakers coach Paul Westhead from Winning Time, or in more recent memory, therapist Jimmy Laird from Shrinking—you could be under the impression that you’re witnessing the same actor behind all the lights, cameras, and action. Well, think again.
The journey from one beloved character to the next wasn’t an accident for Segel. It demanded a deliberate, yet painful, decision that reshaped his path forever.

Benito Skinner is bringing the drama to Prime Video with his semi-autobiographical comedy series “Overcompensating.” Skinner, Aka Benny Drama, makes his TV debut with the star-studded series that he writes, executive produces, and acts in. The college-set show centers on former football player and homecoming king Benny (Skinner) whose journey as a closeted gay man leads to “horrible hookups, flavored vodka, and fake IDs,” as the logline teases.
The official synopsis reads: “Benny becomes fast friends with Carmen (Wally Baram), a high school outsider on a mission to fit in at all costs. With guidance from Benny’s older sister (Mary Beth Barone) and her campus-legend boyfriend (Adam Dimarco), Benny and Carmen juggle horrible hookups, flavored vodka, and fake IDs. Deeply funny and personal, the show explores the lengths to which we all overcompensate while on the path to finding out who we really are.”

“Overcompensating,” the ensemble college comedy from Prime Video, added Megan Fox and James Van Der Beek as guest stars on Tuesday.
The semi-biographical comedy series follows closeted former football star Benny, played by creator Benito Skinner, as he attempts to discover his true identity while also trying to fit in with his peers. Along the way, Benny makes bold mistakes, juggles horrible hook-ups and yet still manages to find the fun.
“Overcompensating” also added additional guest stars Lukas Gage (“Companion”), Bowen Yang (“Saturday Night Live”), Matt Rogers (“No Good Deed”), Didi Conn (“Harlan Coben’s Shelter”), Rachel Matthews (“Upgraded”), Danielle Perez (“The Night Agent”), Boman Martinez Reid and Yasmine Sahid.
In the first trailer for the series, Fox gives Benny advice, as herself, from his poster on the wall, while Yang and Rogers share an intimate moment as Benny shuffles away. Plus, Van Der Beek gives Benny some tough love...

Director Harold Ramis has helmed several titles that can be termed essential comedies. "Groundhog Day," "National Lampoon's Vacation," and "Multiplicity" are just some examples of Ramis' ability to evoke genuine hilarity, which is often mixed in with engaging drama that can be revisited time and again. Given how incredibly adept he was at writing comedies, it is a shame that Ramis' final genre film, "Year One," was deemed a critical flop in 2009. Although Ramis' goodwill as an actor/writer/director undoubtedly remains untarnished, "Year One" is a baffling phenomenon that is quite difficult to explain, as the brand of bawdy, illogical humor it weilds has only aged even more terribly with time.
Well, it seems that Hulu's algorithm has (once again) spotlighted films that are best left forgotten. You see, "Year One" is currently ranked #13 among the streaming platform's Top Movies List, having recently lost its #9 ranking to the...

Jason Segel’s Shrinking which also stars Harrison Ford, is one of the most authentic forms of exploring grief along with other emotions. It gives the audience a little bit of a sneak peek into the world of a therapist and what challenges they have to face while dealing with their patients’ struggles. It’s an apt balance of laughs with tears, and viewers have appreciated this heartwarming series.
Fans of the show have also expressed that they highly appreciate the fact that the show does not pretend to glorify anything that’s not needed to. They showcase challenges of life and the authentic way to deal with them. There is no shortcut to happiness, and Shrinking touches upon that line, and Jason Segel does his job perfectly not only as the lead character but also as a co-writer of the show. It is often seen that in a field as creative as TV, what goes on behind the scenes is what you will see in the results on screen. The hit Apple TV+ series Shrinking is an example of the same, where the cast and crew, through the process of shooting, got so close to each other that their camaraderie undoubtedly shone on the screen.
Co-creator Brett Goldstein, in a recent interview, revealed how his co-creator Bill Lawrence used to insist nobody go back to their trailers once the shoot was done, how he wanted everyone to get to know each other, and bond. The environment created around an artist is pivotal to their performance, and Goldstein ensured that his cast and crew got the best environment in order to bring about great performances.

Seth Rogen may not be invited to present at an awards show anytime soon.
The Studio star and co-creator sparked controversy at the 2025 Breakthrough Prize ceremony, held on April 5 at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica. Often referred to as “the Oscars of Science,” the annual black-tie gala celebrates the world’s leading scientists and attracts a high-powered mix of A-list celebrities and Silicon Valley elite.
Rogen took the stage to present the Special Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics alongside Edward Norton. Norton thanked the event’s major backers — tech billionaires and Breakthrough Prize cofounders Yuri Milner, Mark Zuckerberg, and Sergey Brin. But Rogen took the opportunity to pivot into politics.
“And it’s amazing that others [who have been] in this room underwrote electing a man who, in the last week, single-handedly destroyed all of American science,” Rogen said. “It’s amazing how much good science you can destroy with $320 million and Rfk Jr. very fast.

Apple TV+ has been putting out gem after gem, one after the other, each show and movie with the goal of topping the others. Be it heartfelt comedies, mystery thrillers, or action, they just know how to do it right and always manage to stick the landing.
From shows like Ted Lasso, Severance, and Dope Thief, it is like they can’t make a bad series or movies. One of the original Apple shows that is gaining a lot of traction lately is Shrinking. A story that revolves around a therapist who is coping with himself after the passing of his wife and is seeking guidance from another therapist who is finding ways to deal with Parkinson’s disease.

Harrison Ford has been applauded for his standout performance in Apple TV+’s celebrated dramedy series Shrinking. He plays the role of Dr. Paul Rhoades, a therapist who is coming to terms with the new reality of his own life with Parkinson’s disease. Alongside Jason and Harrison, the stellar ensemble cast consists of Christa Miller, Brett Goldstein, and Bill Lawrence in pivotal roles.
Ford plays Paul with his usual brilliant conviction, bringing his brand of dry humor and wit to the role. He is a compassionate mentor to Jimmy, and the depth he brings to the character is being well-received by viewers all over.
Its character draws close inspiration from a real person, a well-known psychiatrist, Dr. Phil Stutz, famously known for his unconventional therapy methods and the commendable work he has done with renowned actor Jonah Hill.

Jennifer Lawrence Filming Chaos ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
Jennifer Lawrence went through hell, and she wasn’t being dramatic about it. While promoting Don’t Look Up, she revealed that filming one scene with Leonardo DiCaprio and Timothée Chalamet was “absolute misery.” That wasn’t just an offhand remark. It summed up what she called “the most annoying day in my life.”
The chaos unfolded inside a car, of all places. Lawrence, DiCaprio, and Chalamet had to shoot a quiet little scene, just the three of them in character, driving and chatting. But instead of a smooth ride, it turned into a patience-testing experience for her. As she recalled on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, “It was hell.”
DiCaprio had handpicked the song playing during the scene and wouldn’t stop explaining its meaning. Chalamet, on the other hand, brought a different kind of energy. “Timothée was just excited to be out of the house,...

War is no laughing matter, just in case anybody needs reminding. But there has always been a strain of comedy war films, from "Operation Petticoat" and "Operation Dumbo Drop" via the Mutual Assured Destruction laffs of "Dr. Strangelove" to war-adjacent capers like "The Greatest Beer Run Ever." In 2016, Todd Phillips gave us "War Dogs," a movie that plays somewhat like a stoner version of the latter with illegal firearms instead of cans of warm Pabst Blue Ribbon.
Inspired by a "Rolling Stone" article about two young Miami dudes who became unlikely gun runners for the U.S. Government, a black comedy about the murky world of international arms dealers will always be relevant in our era of perpetual war. Following movies like "Old School" and "The Hangover," Phillips might not have seemed like the obvious choice to direct a greed-is-bad black comedy about such a serious subject. As he proved in his later "Joker" movies,...

Autographs are holdovers from the days before everyone carried cameras on them at all times. If you met a celebrity back then, your only options to record the encounter were to make them sign a piece of paper or to befriend them and keep them in your home forever.
For celebrities, the pride they feel the first time a fan asks for their autograph eventually gives way to annoyance, especially when the item you ask them to sign is secretly a deed of sale. They might refuse the demand and offer you something else instead.

Bryant’s final game with the NBA was on April 13, 2016. The Lakers beat the Utah Jazz 101 to 96, and 60 of those 101 points were scored by Kobe himself. The Friday franchise has just been revived more than 20 years after the last movie was released. New Line President and Cco Richard Brener confirmed in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that Ice Cube had reached a deal to write and star in Last Friday, which will directly follow Friday After Next (2002). Ice Cube mentioned last summer that he was pushing for another Friday movie to get made, but that he wasn’t making any ground convincing Warner Bros. that it was worthwhile. There is no word on if Chris Tucker, Mike Epps, or John Witherspoon are attached to star. It is also unknown at this time who will direct the film, and additional casting is ongoing. Last Friday also has no official release date at this time.

Movies have done a great job of telling stories, whether they are fictional or real-life incidents. Films are a great way to reach a wider audience. Over the years, there have been plenty of films that are adaptations of books or stories from other sources that have resonated with audiences on a deeper level, showcasing the success of films to reach and connect with audiences in ways that are otherwise not possible.
Movies excel at conveying stories, whether by capturing significant moments in history, bringing biographies to life, or immersing viewers in life-changing events. “No Hard Feelings” is making quite a buzz worldwide. It is an R-rated summer comedy, giving the genre one of its funniest films in years thanks to its outrageous, unapologetic tone. Jennifer Lawrence drives this movie with her star act; she is intense and hot. She never misses a bit of the awkward humor, and her scenes with Andrew Barth Feldman are surprisingly sweet.
The film isn’t particularly spectacular, with decent directorial effort. At the same time, the movie is enjoyable as a throwback to the raunchy comedies of the late 90s and early 00s that have become all but extinct. The positive reception of “No Hard Feelings” might give the summer comedy genre a new life. Here are a few films you might wanna watch if you liked “No Hard Feelings.”
1. The 40-Year-Old Virgin (2005)
This movie comes closest to “No Hard Feelings” thematically. Both films deal with a virgin getting laid.

The upcoming remake of The Running Man starring Glen Powell just got a major update. Powell took to his personal Instagram to announce that The Running Man has wrapped filming, leaving over seven months of post-production to make its November 7 release date. The Running Man is a remake of the 1987 film of the same name starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, and it is based on the popular novel by Stephen King. While 1987’s The Running Man relied on Schwarzenegger for most of its draw, Glen Powell’s iteration has built a stellar ensemble around him. Powell’s Twisters co-star Katy O’Brian will play a fellow contestant in the film, with Colman Domingo portraying Bobby Thompson and Josh Brolin playing Dan Killian. Lee Pace will also play Evan McCone, with Michael Cera, William H. Macy, and more filling out the rest of the cast in undisclosed roles.

Chris Pratt Moneyball Audition(Photo Credit –Facebook)
Chris Pratt has always been full of surprises, but his Moneyball audition? That was on another level. Imagine walking into a room with Brad Pitt and the director, Bennett Miller. Most people would freeze. But not Pratt. He flipped the script—literally—and made a move no one saw coming.
During an appearance on The Graham Norton Show (via The Independent), Pratt shared the wild story. He was auditioning for the 2011 sports drama when Miller critiqued his performance, saying him to imagine he is “a guy auditioning next to Brad Pitt.” But instead of panicking, Pratt doubled down.
“I said: ‘Well, then how about this? This is my house, and you can start by taking your f***ing feet off my desk!’ I kicked him out, and I said: ‘You, Brad, get out! You guys go knock on the door and come back...
