Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were once friends with David and Victoria Beckham until they had a major fallout.
It’s been reported that the reason for their rift stems from the duke accusing the soccer’s star wife of leaking stories about Meghan to the press, which infuriated David. It was also claimed in Tom Bower’s book Revenge that Harry asked David to fly 22 hours to Australia to attend an Invictus Games event with him, but had no intention of meeting him. According to Bower, Harry decided to keep his distance because Meghan did not want any competition in the media from David or Victoria.
But even though they don’t speak to each other anymore, it seems there is some competition between Victoria and Meghan. Here’s more on that and how an expert says Victoria may get “revenge.”

Update: Steve Bannon was ordered to report to prison on July 1 to serve a four-month sentence for contempt of Congress.
Bannon, a longtime ally of Donald Trump’s who served as his White House chief strategist, can still seek a stay of Judge Carl Nichols’ order, per the AP. But an appeals court last month rejected Bannon’s arguments for why the conviction should be overturned.
Bannon now has a regular platform as podcast host, where he has said that Trump will seek retribution in his next term, particularly after the former president’s conviction in New York last week on felony charges.
Bannon was convicted for defying a congressional subpoena issued by the House January 6th Committee. The committee was dissolved when Republicans took control of Congress last year.
Bannon’s attorney attacked the judge, arguing that he was using faulty reasoning in considering whether his client’s conduct was “willful.

Welcome to ElectionLine’s A View From Abroad series, in which we speak with media figures who are not from America but keep a close eye on its politics. Every few weeks, these smart observers will provide a unique perspective on the fraught and unpredictable campaign for the White House. This week, our interview is with Nadia Bilbassy-Charters, the Washington D.C. bureau chief for Al Arabiya, the state-owned Saudi Arabian Arabic news network.
Nadia Bilbassy-Charters evokes a vivid image as she recalls her former home in Gaza City. She speaks of a happy place; a sun-soaked villa with cherry, fig, and olive trees on the shore of the Mediterranean Sea. It is all rubble now, she says ruefully. And the tragic consequences of the Israel-Gaza crisis are not just bound up in bricks and mortar for Bilbassy-Charters: 12 members of her extended family have been killed since the Hamas atrocities...

After Michelle Obama’s mother, Marian Robinson, died at age 86 last week, the former first lady honored her with a lengthy written tribute.
Robinson was born in 1937 and grew up on Chicago’s South Side, one of seven children. She trained as a teacher before working as a bank secretary. She married Fraser Robinson, and they had two children, Michelle and Craig Robinson. Fraser died in 1991.
On May 31, Robinson’s death was announced by Michelle Obama and other family members in a statement in which they said that “there was and will be only one Marian Robinson” and that “in our sadness, we are lifted by the extraordinary gift of her life.”
“She passed peacefully this morning, and right now, none of us are quite sure how exactly we’ll move on without her,” the family’s statement also said. “We needed her. The girls needed her. And she ended...

John Waters is still stirring things up at 78. A frequent Real Time guest of Bill Maher, the writer, actor, and filmmaker of such cult classics as Pink Flamingos and Cry-Baby can still zing with the best.
He started off with a brief discussion of this week’s biggest news, the Trump trial results in New York.
“If he gets home detention, you will hear Melania scream,” Waters said. Adding, “In jail, they pay guards for cell phones. He has to sneak in “Just for Men.”
The conversation took an abrupt turn when Maher brought up the Pope’s slur against gays this week, which prompted Waters to reminisce about the days of Glory Holes on both coasts. “God, I hope I didn’t blow Rex Reed!”
Fortunately for Walters, he claimed his films are “doing better than ever,” though he admits he lost every obscenity case he was ever involved in.

For Love & Life: No Ordinary Campaign is a moving documentary about one couple’s fight for legislative changes that could offer hope and life to anyone battling Als, commonly called Lou Gehrig’s Disease. This fine documentary follows Brian Wallach and his wife Sandra, in the aftermath of his Als diagnosis, as they fight both the disease and the barriers to treatment that all those with Als face, a battle they fight with courage, energy, creativity and hope.
Remember the “ice bucket challenge?” Yeah, they are the ones who created that.
At age 37, Brian Wallach was on top of the world, with the rosiest future, awaiting the birth of his second child with his wife Sandra. The couple had met while working on a progressive political campaign, and they seemed to be the perfect match.

The FCC is considering a new rule that would require the disclosure of the use of artificial intelligence in political ads — while the agency would not prohibit AI-generated content.
FCC Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel on Wednesday announced a new agency proposal that, if adopted, would look into whether radio and TV broadcasters, cable TV operators and satellite TV providers should be required to disclose when there is AI-generated content in candidate or issue-oriented political ads. The agency’s regulatory purview in this area does not extend to online streaming services.
“As artificial intelligence tools become more accessible, the commission wants to make sure consumers are fully informed when the technology is used,” Rosenworcel (pictured above) said in a statement. “Today, I’ve shared with my colleagues a proposal that makes clear consumers have a right to know when AI tools are being used in the political ads they see, and I...

Just in case you weren’t sure where Jimmy Kimmel stood in the upcoming presidential election, he’s making it explicit, taking part in an upcoming fundraiser that will see him in conversation with President Biden and Former President Obama.
The event, which is scheduled to take place June 15th in Los Angeles, comes on the heels of a New York event hosted by Kimmel’s late-night competitor Stephen Colbert. That event, which saw Colbert interview Biden, Obama and Bill Clinton at Radio City Music Hall, raised a record-setting $26 million for Biden’s reelection campaign.
A venue hasn’t yet been announced for Kimmel’s event, but it’s set to include at least two other Hollywood heavy hitters in George Clooney and Julia Roberts, who are being billed as “special guests.”

John Oliver trolled Donald Trump on Last Week Tonight after the former Potus said he had created a new nickname for corn.
The HBO late-night show host dedicated Sunday’s episode to corn and noted the way politicians pander to the corn farmers.
“There is a long history of American politicians being weird around corn,” Oliver said, mentioning Barack Obama, Mitt Romney, and George W. Bush.
Oliver gave Trump the honor of being the weirdest discussing corn cutting to a clip of the 2024 presidential hopeful during a Maga rally in New Hampshire.
“I just met non-liquid gold, you know where it was? Iowa! It’s called corn,” Trump said in the clip. “You have more non-liquid gold. They said, ‘What is that?’ I said, ‘Corn!’ They said, ‘We love that idea.'”

Luis Ignacio Lula da Silva, three times president of Brazil, was born in 1945. He grew up poor in Sao Paulo and left school early to help support his family. Having trained as a lathe operator, he reached a milestone when he became the first member of his family to earn more than the minimum wage. Initially reluctant to get involved in politics, he was president of the steelworkers’ union by the time he was 30, leading a strike that achieved better wages that he saw were soon soaked up by a rise in rents. “It was time for workers to think about ruling their own country,” he says in voice-over in Oliver Stone and Rob Wilson’s documentary, simply called Lula.

Lovo, a Berkeley-based AI startup, was accused in a class action lawsuit on Thursday of stealing actors’ voices to create Genny, a publicly accessible AI generator.
Paul Skye Lehrman and Linnea Sage, a New York couple who work as voice actors, alleged that they were deceived into providing voice samples through a freelance website. They were paid $1200 and $400, respectively, for reading scripts, and were told the recordings would be used internally, or for academic purposes.
Years later, they discovered that their voices had been cloned and were being used publicly without their permission or additional payment, the suit alleges. They are seeking to represent every actor whose voice was taken, and to stop Lovo from using those voices without consent and payment.
“You gotta get back control of their voices and their professional destiny,” said Steve Cohen, a partner at Pollock Cohen Llp, who filed the complaint. “There’s gotta...

Julia Roberts also will be joining George Clooney for a Los Angeles fundraiser next month for Joe Biden’s campaign, headlined by the president and his predecessor, Barack Obama.
Clooney and Roberts will be part of a contest — run across social media and via digital ads — to try to boost small-dollar donations, according to a campaign official. Clooney and Roberts also will be featured in posts and messages to supporters.
The event is being planned for June 15 in downtown Los Angeles, according to a source familiar with the plans. The fundraiser would be the latest big scale event lending celebrity and political star power to Biden’s campaign. A New York event in late March featured Biden, Obama and Bill Clinton in conversation with Stephen Colbert, along with a celebrity guest list. This post contains spoilers for the latest episodes of "Doctor Who."
It turns out love really is all you need. Well, love and a Time Lord willing to fight off the spirit of music through a delightfully campy song battle that sees literal musical notes fill the air. The showdown between the Fifteenth Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa), Ruby (Millie Gibson), and the chaotic being known as Maestro (Jinkx Monsoon) in the new season's second episode might be one of the goofiest things that's happened on "Doctor Who" recently -- and it's not even the most over-the-top part of the episode. "The Devil's Chord" takes some deliciously weird risks, the biggest of which is centering its drama on "characters" who aren't exactly historical figures yet: The Beatles.

Eric Schultz knows his way around politics. The Washington, D.C. consultant served as deputy White House press secretary during the Obama Administration from 2014-2017. He’s also worked for Sen. Charles Schumer and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee
But in the last few years, he’s been getting very familiar with Hollywood, consulting for shows like “Succession” and most recently Alex Garland’s A24 drama “Civil War.”
But now, he’s going in front of the camera. Schultz makes his acting debut with a cameo on Thursday’s season finale of Max’s “The Girls on the Bus.” He plays a press aide who Sadie McCarthy (Melissa Benoist) must convince to let her into a VIP cocktail party at the Democratic National Convention.
“They reached out of the blue and asked me, ‘Would you like to make a cameo?’” Schultz tells me. “It took me probably a nanosecond to say yes.

For the last 10 years, A24 has been home to movies that wouldn’t have been made anywhere else, as low and mid-budget films are almost obsolete in the mainstream Hollywood landscape. But following their commitment to funding risky visions of outsider filmmakers, the Indie outfit has built a pretty strong brand identity and is now set to join forces with one of the best in the game.
Steven Spielberg, who previously spoke highly of A24’s Oscar-nominated The Zone of Interest, is now teaming up with the indie distributor for an adaptation of The Heaven & Earth Grocery Store.

A24 And Steven Spielberg Developing Adaptation Of James McBride’s ‘The Heaven & Earth Grocery Store’
A24 and Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment are teaming to develop an adaptation of James McBride’s acclaimed novel The Heaven & Earth Grocery Store. Insiders say it is still in very early development and that Spielberg would only be producing not directing.
A24 had no comment.
McBride’s novel tells the story of Black and Jewish residents of the Chicken Hill neighborhood of Pottstown, Pennsylvania in the 1920s and ‘30s, though the book opens in 1972 with the discovery of a skeleton at the bottom of a well.
The novel received a number accolades and various lists including being one of the best books of 2023 by NPR and also making President Obama’s list of his favorite books of 2023.
The news was first reported by The InSneider newsletter.

“How many of you had ‘Mark Hamill will lead the press briefing’ on your bingo cards?” the Star Wars icon joked as he took the podium at the White House. “Yeah, me either.”
It’s not such a far-fetched idea, however, when one considers the date. It’s May 3, the last weekday before that sacred Star Wars holiday, May the Fourth. Also, anyone who follows the quick-witted Hamill on social media knows he’s a staunch Democrat.

“I only expected to be there for, like, five minutes,” Hamill said of his meeting with Biden, “[but] he showed us all these photographs…...

It’s been 100 years since ink first flowed through Montblanc’s Meisterstück, the fountain pen wielded by the likes of Nelson Mandela, Yoko Ono, Presidents Barack Obama and John F. Kennedy, and others.
To mark the luxe instrument‘s centennial, the German luxury house took over Los Angeles’ Paramour Estate (once the home of silent movie star Antonio Moreno) for a starry soirée to launch a new global campaign conceived by Wes Anderson — complete with a red carpet inspired by the short film’s alpine setting.
Though the Oscar-winning filmmaker was absent (he was busy filming in Berlin), campaign co-stars Jason Schwartzman and Rupert Friend were on hand for a seated dinner alongside guests Adrien Brody, Maude Apatow, Emma Roberts (who requested a custom sketch from on-site artist Kevin Zych), Simu Liu (who was seen sneaking a peek inside the hilltop manse’s speakeasy), Kiernan Shipka, Waris Ahluwalia, Dylan Sprouse,...

Former President Barack Obama slammed Donald Trump for a lack of “seriousness.”
Obama joined Joe Biden and Bill Clinton during an episode of the Smartless podcast to criticize Trump’s behavior.
Actor Jason Bateman, one of the podcast’s hosts, asked Obama if he was surprised “how quickly that protection and passion for democracy was diluted” and “how primed the country was to just sort of dissolve and – and get lazy with it and let it go.”
“You know, I will say – and Bill saw this begin to happen during his presidency – it then accelerated during my presidency – I have been surprised that there haven’t been guard rails inside the Republican Party,” Obama replied.
“Trump didn’t surprise me, no,” he added. “You watch Trump’s campaign, you watch his career. If you know anybody who’s a—I mean, he comes from New York, there’s nobody in...

José Andrés is a renowned name globally, as well as locally in Washington’s Dmv (District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia) area. Ambassadors, civil servants, businessmen, tourists, locals and celebrities — including Rob Reiner, Paris Hilton, Gloria and Emilio Estefan, LL Cool J, Billy Porter, bandleader Chucho Valdés, NBA pro Kyle Kuzma and NFL player Kevin Zeitler — have all dined at his restaurants in DC, of which there are 8 and all are within a walking distance of each other.
One of his most famous concepts is The Bazaar By José Andrés, which has locations in Chicago, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York and Washington. The latter sits inside the Waldorf Astoria Washington hotel — which opened in 2022 — and it’s a perfect match, as the chef and hotel management share the same ethos and values for diversity and inclusion.
Andrés originally was supposed to open his restaurant in what was then the Trump International Hotel.
