Pamela Anderson has landed her next major movie role. The former Baywatch star has joined the cast of writer-director Sally Potter‘s latest project Alma.

According to Variety, Anderson will star alongside Dakota Fanning and esteemed British actress Lindsay Duncan (Black Mirror and Doctor Who) in the supernatural family dramedy. Alma takes place as a family gather to scatter their late mother's ashes — only to find that her lingering eerie presence uncovers long-buried family secrets.

While most legacy sequels to beloved movies find a way to incorporate original cast members, that was unlikely to happen in Akiva Schaffer’s reboot of The Naked Gun.

Leslie Nielsen, who played Lt. Frank Drebin, passed away in 2010. George Kennedy, aka Captain Ed Hocken, died in 2016. And since Priscilla Presley has publicly claimed that she would turn down any invitations to return to the franchise, that really only left O.J. Simpson.

Although he died shortly before filming began, there was seemingly no attempt to involve Simpson in the project, for obvious reasons. But that doesn’t mean that the movie won’t include some references to the notorious accused murderer.

The first teaser trailer for 2025’s The Naked Gun just dropped. It finds Liam Neeson’s Frank Drebin (the son of Nielson’s character) brutalizing a gang of bank robbers while improbably dressed as a schoolgirl, complete with a Mission: Impossible-style rubber mask.

The film is directed by Akiva Schaffer and produced by Seth MacFarlane.

The cast includes Liam Neeson, Pamela Anderson, Paul Walter Hauser, Cch Pounder, Kevin Durand, Cody Rhodes, Liza Koshy, Eddie Yu, and Danny Huston.

Paramount Pictures is presenting, in association with Domain Entertainment, a Fuzzy Door production. The movie was written by Dan Gregor, Doug Mand, and Akiva Schaffer.

The executive producers include Daniel M. Stillman, Akiva Schaffer, Pete Chiappetta, Anthony Tittanegro, and Andrew Lary. MacFarlane produces with Erica Huggins. Principal photography for the new movie began on May 6, 2024, in Atlanta, and wrapped on June 28 of that same year.

Naked Gun’s footage teases a tone that should please fans of the original series, including a moment in which Neeson beats a man with his own dismembered arms. There are also scenes suggesting sexual activity between Neeson and Pamela Anderson’s character that are not quite what they seem. Another memorable moment references Nordberg, the role played in the original movies by O.J. Simpson.

Who would have thought that Liam Neeson could be the next Leslie Nielsen? Paramount Pictures dropped the first look at the studio’s “The Naked Gun” remake on Thursday with the film’s first trailer, introducing Liam Neeson as Lt. Frank Drebin Jr., the son of the iconic comedy character played by Leslie Nielsen in the original franchise.

Akiva Schaffer, one third of The Lonely Island, co-wrote and directs the film which follows Drebin Jr. as he leads the Police Squad and, of course, must save the world.

While a teaser was released on YouTube, attendees at CinemaCon got to see an early look at an upcoming full trailer in which Neeson teases his past work in the “Taken” films, warning that when you take a life, there’s no going back. “It’s a moment that makes you say…that was awesome!”

Paul Walter Hauser, the widely lauded star of films like Richard Jewell, and the martial arts comedy show Cobra Kai, is set to feature in the upcoming reboot of the spoof comedy franchise The Naked Gun. Details about the movie remain under wraps and not much has been revealed about the project. However, Hauser has spilled the beans about his own character and that of his co-star, Liam Neeson.

Hauser is currently promoting his latest movie, The Luckiest Man in America. Our own Alex Maidy recently spoke with Paul Walter Hauser and couldn’t resist asking him about the upcoming Naked Gun reboot, specifically about who he would be playing. When Hauser’s casting was first announced, it was said that he would play Captain Ed, the role played by George Kennedy in the previous Naked Gun movies. When the trailer for "Taken" first started making the rounds in 2008, no one thought it was terribly out of character for Liam Neeson to star in a straight-ahead action flick. With films like "Darkman," "Rob Roy" and "Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace" on his resume, the 1993 Best Actor nominee for "Schindler's List" certainly seemed comfortable making genre movies. The surprise was the five years that led up to it. After failing to snag a well-deserved second Best Actor nomination for "Kinsey" in 2004, he segued to supporting parts in "Kingdom of Heaven," "Batman Begins" and "Breakfast on Pluto," which suggested he was either getting passed over for lead roles, didn't fit the star type for whatever was being offered, or entering the character actor phase of his career.

The Emmy-winning hit song “D–k in a Box” received a modern-day upgrade at SNL50: The Homecoming Concert by none other than Lady Gaga.

Andy Samberg and Justin Timberlake originally performed this “Digital Short” on Saturday Night Live on Dec. 16, 2006, and it quickly went viral. Samberg was present at Friday’s 50-year bash at Radio City Music Hall, but his partner in crime was absent. “Andy, don’t be a bitch, I’ll do it with you,” Gaga told him in front of a packed house of former cast members, hosts, and musical guests. Samberg and Gaga started out their set with a version of “Shallow” from A Star Is Born (2018), but the former’s voice wasn’t quite up to snuff.

In one of the night’s standout moments, the Saturday Night Live 50th anniversary concert paid tribute to the legacy of The Lonely Island with an epic medley celebrating some of Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone, and Akiva Schaffer’s greatest contributions to SNL, kicking off first with Lady Gaga’s rendition of “Dick in a Box.”

Well, first Samberg attempted a cover of “Shallow” from A Star Is Born (complete with Jackson Maine wig) before Gaga shut him down. Then, since Justin Timberlake wasn’t around, she offered to sing “Dick in a Box” in his place.

Taken star Liam Neeson continues to ply his trade as Hollywood’s go-to aged action hero, and the Oscar nominee will continue to cement his legacy in the upcoming action thriller The Mongoose...which has now added several fan-favorite action stars to the ensemble. CBS doesn’t have a signature single-camera workplace comedy at the moment, something ABC has with Abbott Elementary, NBC with newcomer St. Denis Medical and Fox with Animal Control.

Houseman has previously collaborated with Greg Daniels, as a producer across both seasons of his Netflix series Space Force, and as a producer and writer on Daniels’ Prime Video series Upload.
