Well, it’s official. Krysten Ritter will return as Jessica Jones for the second season of Daredevil: Born Again. The announcement was made during Disney’s upfront presentation.
Ritter played Jessica Jones in the eponymous Netflix series, which ran for three seasons from 2015 to 2019. The show followed the ex-superhero turned private investigator as she opened her own detective agency, Alias Investigations. She later joined forces with Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and Danny Rand (Finn Jones) in The Defenders miniseries.
In addition to Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, Daredevil: Born Again has brought many members of the Netflix cast into the fold. Vincent D’Onofrio is back as Wilson Fisk, alongside Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Franklin “Foggy” Nelson, Wilson Bethel as Benjamin “Dex” Poindexter, Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Fisk, and Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle. Daredevil: Born Again has resumed filming in New York, and we now have another round of set photos from the show's upcoming second season.
It appears Daredevil (Charlie Cox) and Bullseye (Wilson Bethel) are teaming up, perhaps becoming unlikely allies in a New York now ruled over by Mayor Wilson Fisk with an iron fist. It's not like the Man Without Fear hasn't worked with a killer before (see: The Punisher).
These photos reveal a new look at the bullseye logo that's been added to the villain's mask, and more changes to Daredevil's suit. We previously theorised that he paints his red suit black, and it seems that's wearing off as time passes.
Previous set photos only showed glimmers of red, whereas there are now large patches coming through. Fortunately, the iconic "Dd" logo remains.

There’s more to acting than just wearing costumes and delivering lines properly, especially in the world of Marvel. The recent Disney+ revival series Daredevil: Born Again is just as committed to thrilling action scenes as the previous Daredevil show, with at least one big fight per episode. Charlie Cox started playing lawyer Matt Murdock, aka the blind superhero Daredevil, back in 2015, and, over the years, he’s figured out his two priorities for every action scene, based on the character’s superhuman abilities and his emotional primacy.
“One, be clear-minded about how emotionally relevant this scene is to Matt,” Cox explains. “Sometimes we have a scene where he's just trying to garner information, and to get that, he needs to go through people. So make sure that the action is appropriate for that, so that he's not unnecessarily violent or brutal, because it doesn’t require huge physical emotion.

It's only been two months since the Devil of Hell's Kitchen first returned to our screens with Daredevil: Born Again, but anticipation is already running high for what's next for Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox). Production began on Season 2 just days before the first episode aired, hoping for a quicker turnaround to build on an explosive finale uniting Matt, Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal), and Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) against Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio) and his officers of the law. With everything he went through in Season 1, though, the Matt viewers see next year won't be quite the same as the one we started with. In a larger interview for an in-depth profile with Collider's Tania Hussain, Cox teased that the new episodes will explore a Man Without Fear without trust in his own instincts.
In the season finale, Matt is finally forced to reconcile with the fact that, to win the war against Kingpin,...

Daredevil: Born Again is one of the more exceptional Marvel Cinematic Universe projects because Charlie Cox already starred as Daredevil in an eponymous Netflix series that was McU-adjacent; a Marvel show not produced by Marvel Studios. Cox was so beloved as The Man Without Fear, that even after that run officially ended, he was brought back by MCU head Kevin Feige.
First, he filmed a cameo for Spider-Man: No Way Home, then he featured in episodes of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Daredevil’s many masks are on display in one scene of Born Again – superhero clothing designer, Luke Jacobson, worked on Daredevil’s outfits in the She-Hulk Disney Plus show.

Daredevil: Born Again director Aaron Moorhead recently hinted at what fans can expect from the upcoming second season of the Disney+ revival. Moorhead previously worked with Marvel Studios on 2022’s Moon Knight and 2023’s Loki Season 2.
During a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Moorhead opened up about the aftermath of the Born Again Season 1 finale, teasing the titular hero’s next step against Wilson Fisk’s totalitarian rule over New York City. "The end of Season 1 is a tragedy of some kind," he explained. "And while it’s not exactly a full-blown stand-up-and-cheer moment as there’s very mixed emotions in those final seconds, you get the sense that there’s a building of a resistance."
"So that is the kernel of where Season 2 is going to go," Moorhead continued. "The board is completely set in which Mayor Fisk has now become Kingpin again, but with New York in his grasp,...

Just when we thought New York couldn't get any more violent, we were all proven wrong. The finale of Daredevil: Born Again is finally here, and it delivers some of the most gruesome moments in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. It's hard to imagine things get any better going forward now that the Kingpin of crime is taking advantage of his position as Mayor to do anything he wants. He blackmailed the City Council, willingly created a blackout in the entire city, laundered money, and created a Task Force that operates above the law to do his every bidding. The worst part? This is just the beginning.
Fortunately, Daredevil will stop at nothing to reclaim his city and save as many lives as he can in the process. Thanks to an explosive series finale, expectations are at an all-time high for The Man Without Fear to return to the small...

Putting the ‘hell’ in Hell’s Kitchen, a horned menace has risen from the ashes of Netflix’s short-lived Daredevil series, finally bringing Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe on a (hopefully) more permanent basis. Mixing together fresh and familiar faces, Daredevil: Born Again reunited a core cast of Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, and Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle/the Punisher with newcomers like Kamar de los Reyes’ Hector Ayala/White Tiger, Genneya Walton’s Bb Urich, and Hunter Doohan’s unhinged Muse.

Although the initial plan was to rework some elements and make Daredevil: Born Again stand separate from the Netflix Daredevil series (despite sharing some cast members), the show underwent a creative overhaul when the writers and actors strikes shut down production in 2023. Now, this series is a direct follow-up to the Netflix series, picking up five years later. Scardapane, who previously worked on...

Spoiler Alert !!! Major Spoilers for Daredevil:Born Again Season Finale Ahead!
Deborah Ann Woll is finally smiling like Karen Page found peace in Hell’s Kitchen. Why? Because Daredevil: Born Again just wrapped up its first season in spectacular, blood-stained, bullet-riddled MCU fashion. And yes, Kastle shippers, it finally happened. Frank Castle and Karen Page reunited in the explosive finale, and the fandom hasn’t stopped screaming since.
Last week’s episode in the MCU’s gritty revival of Daredevil, building directly off the Netflix Og, brought the heat: Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) took a bullet — classic Matt — from a cold-as-ice Bullseye aka Benjamin “Dex” Poindexter (Wilson Bethel), all while chaos reigned at the swanky yet savage Black and White Ball hosted by none other than Fisk himself.
And just when we thought she was out for good, Deborah Ann Woll surprised fans by stepping back into Karen’s heels. Her...

There’s a discernible bookend quality to season 1 of Daredevil: Born Again, thanks to the creative reboot that happened over the course of production. Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead directed the final two episodes of the season, as well as the premiere, giving an overarching arc that carried through smaller stories like the St. Patrick’s Day bank robbery or the hunt for the serial killer Muse (Hunter Doohan).
“The big things that we did were changing the tone a little bit, into something a bit darker,” Moorhead tells Gold Derby. “By the way, when I say ‘we,’ I mean the two of us, but also of course Marvel and Dario [Scardapane], our showrunner. We also made it more serialized, stretching arcs through every episode. And amusingly, everybody was missing ‘oner’ fights. So we got tasked with being able to bring a oner into the universe, which we would've fought to do anyways.

This article contains spoilers for the season finale of Daredevil: Born Again.
Late into Daredevil: Born Again’s Season 1 finale, we’re treated to a needle-drop of Radiohead’s haunting, melancholy tune ‘Everything In Its Right Place’. It’s an extremely apt soundtrack to the closing events of our return to Hell’s Kitchen – a season of TV which, despite some issues with consistency, cohesion and character along the way, managed to tie everything together in its two hard-hitting final episodes. As the credits roll, everyone is in their right place: Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) and Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) are, after their tentative truce, sworn enemies once again; and Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) is back by Matt’s side, ready to take back their city from the white-suited crime-boss-turned-mayor.

Spoilers for the "Daredevil: Born Again" finale follow.
We've gone through a season of brutal bad guy beatings, jaw-dropping tragedies, and Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) and Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) having an unlikely therapy session in "Daredevil: Born Again." After all has been said and done, though, one sliver of information has alluded both the audience and the Man Without Fear. It's something you'd imagine Murdock to be far more concerned about from the beginning – forget running for mayor; how in the Hell's Kitchen did Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio) get out of prison in the first place?
The last time we left Matt and Fisk together, way back in Netflix's final season of "Daredevil," one was being carted off in the back of a cop car while the other looked over his little spot in New York City, knowing that the Kingpin would never infect it again. Unfortunately, three years later he was out,...

This post contains spoilers for "Daredevil: Born Again."
"Daredevil: Born Again" is named for the most famous "Daredevil" comic ever, 1986's "Born Again" by Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli. Miller is the writer credited with making Matt Murdock/Daredevil a Catholic, and "Born Again" (running in "Daredevil" #227-233) is the story that canonized that.
The title, "Born Again," evokes Jesus Christ's resurrection. Like Jesus, Matt is betrayed by one of those closest to him — Karen Page sells Daredevil's secret identity for a heroin fix. He finds refuge in a convent, healed back to health by the nun Sister Maggie (who is secretly Matt Murdock's long-lost mother).
Ann Nocenti started writing "Daredevil" shortly after "Born Again" at issue #236, and kept the Catholic themes going. During the X-Men's "Inferno" event, the Goblin Queen literally unleashed Hell on New York City.

The sun has set on the first season on "Daredevil: Born Again" and we're quite fearful for the Man Without Fear. Even in the Netflix era, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) ended each chapter on a bit of a heroic high note, whereas "Born Again's" first outing feels very "The Empire Strikes Back." Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio) has forced his hand, firstly in splitting the commissioner's head open like an Easter egg, as well as rounding up vigilantes and protestors alike. Where does that leave Daredevil? Hiding out at Josie's and being forced to regroup with the few left to fight the good fight. The question is, just what exactly does that fight look like?
With season 2 already in production (and with Charlie Cox finally sporting the double-d logo), Marvel Studios are going hell for leather in keeping Daredevil's story going as quickly as possible, with scarce details on just what that will include.

Updated: Well, this New York City in the season finale of Daredevil: Born Again has more problems on its hands than tariffs on Madison Avenue, and that’s because it’s under martial law, effective immediately by Mayor Fisk, err Mayor Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio).

That was one heck of a cliffhanger, huh? The penultimate episode of Daredevil: Born Again ended with a shocking turn of events. Sure, there was an assassination attempt against New York City Mayor Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio), but what was truly surprising was that he was saved from the bullet by his greatest adversary, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox). Matt was attending Fisk’s black-and-white ball as the plus-one of his girlfriend, Heather Glenn (Margarita Levieva), who only just revealed to him that she has been working as a couples therapist for Fisk and his wife, Vanessa (Ayelet Zurer).
After interrogating Dex Poindexter (Wilson Bethel) earlier in the day about whether Fisk actually had hired Bullseye to kill Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) back at the beginning of the season, Matt finally put the pieces together over the course of the ball. He realized that Foggy had been killed on the orders of Fisk — not Wilson,...

Spoilers for "Daredevil: Born Again" follow.
"Daredevil: Born Again" season 1 ended on a downer note for Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox). His greatest enemy, Wilson Fisk/The Kingpin (Vincent D'Onofrio), is no longer just the mayor of New York City, he's the Big Apple's dictator. With martial law and an Anti-Vigilante Task Force on his side, Fisk outmatches Daredevil more than ever before. To take him down, Matt tells Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) they'll need an army.
What could that army look like? At the episode's end, Matt brings together his current allies: Karen, law partner Kirsten McDuffie (Nikki M. James), former detective Cherry (Clark Johnson), current (and honest) cop Angie Kim (Ruibo Qian), etc. So, not a whole lot of superpowered heavy hitters. Who else could this army enlist?
Punisher (Jon Bernthal) also escaped imprisonment by Fisk, so he's probably going to be back for the next battle. This...

Spoilers for "Daredevil: Born Again" follow.
About halfway through watching the "Daredevil: Born Again" season 1 finale, I had one dominant thought: "How are they going to wrap all this up in this episode?" Turns out the answer was simple: They weren't! The show has already been renewed for season 2, so with that guarantee of more, "Daredevil: Born Again" season 1 ends on a cliffhanger.
Watching this finale might remind Marvel Cinematic Universe fans of the ending of "Avengers: Infinity War." "Born Again" season 1's ending isn't quite as cataclysmic as half of all life in the universe fading away, but it's still a decisive loss for Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) and the good guys.
Mayor Wilson "Kingpin" Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio) wastes no time reeling from Bullseye's (Wilson Bethel) attempt on his life in the last episode, because it plays into his larger plan. Fisk enacts martial law and cuts off the city's power.

Spoiler Alert: This article contains major spoilers from the Season 1 finale of “Daredevil: Born Again,” now streaming on Disney+.
After ending with a bang (literally) in the penultimate episode, “Daredevil: Born Again” ups the violence, with one of the most violent scenes in Marvel history — and puts New York City entirely under Mayor Wilson Fisk’s (Vincent D’Onofrio) control.
The episode starts with a flashback that reveals how Vanessa Fisk (Ayelet Zurer) convinced Bullseye (Wilson Bethel) to kill Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) prior to the tragic series premiere. In the present, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) wakes up in the hospital after he saved Kingpin from being shot by Bullseye at his political gala, and took the bullet himself in the last episode. Matt survives, but Kingpin still wants him dead, so he cuts power to the city and sends his enforcer Buck Cashman (Arty Froushan) to kill Matt under the cover of the darkness.

There's no denying that Matt Murdock is the man of the hour. While he made his big Marvel Cinematic Universe debut back in 2021 in Spider-Man: No Way Home, it wasn't until March of 2025 that he had the spotlight all to his own. Daredevil: Born Again has been at the center of conversations for all the right reasons. It's gripping, violent, dark, and when it hits its high marks, it does so in exceptional ways. And just like its Netflix predecessor, it has features of Marvel's greatest antagonists.
Wilson Fisk is back, and while it took some time for him to get back to his old villainous ways, he's now stronger than ever. He's willing to bend the law in his favor as the Mayor of New York, which can only mean bad news for every superhero living in the city. In true Kingpin fashion, he created a task force that...

Matt Murdock and Dr. Heather Glenn had their first argument in Daredevil: Born Again's previous episode after she was personally invited by Mayor Wilson Fisk’s assistant/hitman to his black-tie event. Meanwhile, Fisk and Vanessa’s relationship begins to recover as they get over their issues when Fisk showed his wife what he had done to Adam. The episode ended with Vanessa killing her former lover and the Fisk's relationship getting stronger. I don’t know if it’s beautiful, sick, codependent, or all three.

Before everything with the two couples, Poindexter (Bullseye) is moved from solitary confinement to the prison's general population (a.k.a. gen-pop). Since Poindexter was once a cop, it's in his best interest to avoid other prisoners. Putting him among them is an easy way for him to be killed or attacked by the inmates.

The first season of Daredevil: Born Again is now gearing up to bring the Man Without Fear’s return to an action-packed and emotional conclusion, and one of the stars has arrived to add to the already palpable hype. After making his (sort of) MCU debut on Netflix back in 2015, Charlie Cox’s Daredevil is back on Disney+, and Margarita Levieva has nothing but praise for the imminent finale.
Speaking exclusively with MovieWeb’s own George Edelman, Margarita Levieva, who joins the MCU and the gritty, violent world of Daredevil: Born Again as Matt Murdock’s therapist and love interest Heather Glenn, heaped praise on the final three episodes of the series. Considering the dramatic final moments of last week’s penultimate episode, “Isle of Joy,” here’s hoping you’re ready for even more heartbreak and brutal violence as, according to Levieva, that’s exactly what we’re going to get.

Everything we need to know about Daredevil: Born Again Episode 8(Photo Credit –Facebook)
Episode 8 isn’t just another gritty hallway fight or legal drama twist, it’s the moment the whole season basically yells, “Hold my billy club.” With just one episode left before the season 1 finale, the show goes full throttle, bringing back Wilson Bethel as Bullseye like he never left. And let’s just say, he doesn’t exactly show up for tea and snacks.
This episode officially closes the chapter on Muse (Rip to that chaos gremlin) and opens the floodgates for Bullseye’s brand of calculated mayhem. Add in a few unexpected plot bombs and one jaw-dropper of a final scene, and we’re talking full-scale setup for an explosive finale. If you thought Matt Murdock was just gonna broodingly lawyer his way through this, episode 8 says “nah” with a sly smirk and a pile of shurikens.

Season 1 of Daredevil: Born Again has brought fans back into the gritty world of Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk. The two characters have been trying to leave their dark pasts behind — but it hasn’t been easy. As the season nears its end, things explode with a dramatic showdown at Mayor Fisk’s fancy inaugural ball.
In Episode 8, Matt faces Vanessa Fisk (Ayelet Zurer) about her part in Foggy Nelson’s death. Just as things heat up, Bullseye (Wilson Bethel) arrives and chaos breaks out. Matt ends up taking a bullet meant for Fisk.
Executive producer Sana Amanat talked with Marvel.com about all the drama, and what fans can expect in Season 2.
“It’s been really thrilling,” Amanat said. “Episode 8 in particular is a marker of what we wanted to do with the show… I was really happy with the ways the fans got it, and I’m excited to...

Proving that the average Marvel Cinematic Universe TV show is more than just schlocky CGI and $212 million mistakes, Daredevil: Born Again is here to prove there’s a place for a more grounded corner of the MCU. There’s no Witches’ Road, shape-shifting Skrulls, or Miss Minutes here, and instead, the long-awaited Daredevil revival rises from the ashes of Netflix’s canned comic book caper and right hooks its MCU rivals with a gritty street-level adventure.
While there’s plenty that’s different here, we're just glad that the supposed creative overhaul came in and kept Born Again as a proper continuation of the Netflix days. After all, it’s hard to imagine if Born Again had stuck to its original plan and skipped out on including the likes of Ayelet Zurer’s Vanessa Fisk. Although there’s been plenty of new blood in the form of Margarita Levieva’s Heather Glenn,...

Jessica Jonesstar Krysten Ritter hints at a future for her character in Daredevil: Born Again.
Ritter recently shared a photo of Daredevil: Born Again star Charlie Cox on her Instagram reading her book. As innocuous as this might be otherwise, some fans have taken it as a sign that the former is spending so much time with the latter thanks to an appearance in the second season of the hit MCU series, which is currently in production.

Fans' suspicions have only been emboldened by Marvel head of streaming, television, and animation Brad Winderbaum's previous statements, which also hinted at a return of the rest of the Netflix Defenders in Daredevil: Born Again. "I can't say much, but I'll tell you that it's so exciting to be able to play in that sandbox.

Another Daredevil: Born Again star wants a crossover with Marvel's most popular superhero, Spider-Man. The Many Saints of Newark's Michael Gandolfini, who plays Daniel Blake in the Disney+ MCU series, even has a specific location in mind for where his character would encounter Tom Holland's Web-Slinger.
During an interview with Inverse to discuss Daredevil: Born Again and his new movie Warfare, Gandolfini half-joked, "Can we get Spider-Man meeting me on the Staten Island Ferry or something?" Gandolfini joins Daredevil actor Charlie Cox in trying to manifest a crossover with Marvel's flagship character. Last year, Cox stated during a panel at Fan Expo Chicago that Spider-Man is the character he would most like to team up with in an MCU crossover. "Spider-Man and Daredevil together is so iconic. I hope we get to work together again." Cox made a brief cameo as Matt Murdock in Holland's hit Spider-Man: No Way Home...

Superhero shows love to make us wait. Wait for the villain reveal. Wait for the suit-up moment. Wait for the hero to finally stop being emotionally constipated. But Daredevil: Born Again might just be flipping the script—and, even better, breaking a DC record that fans have been side-eyeing for almost a decade.
That’s right, Matt Murdock and Bullseye are strutting into Season 2 in full comic-accurate gear. No more just vibes, leather suits, or shadowy silhouettes. We’re talking double-d chest logo, and Bullseye looking like he came straight from the panels of a ’90s comic book and a GQ shoot.
