What Do We Know About season 4 of The Bear? More thank you may think. The FX on Hulu series debuted in 2022 and instantly became one of the most acclaimed television shows. The re-elected General Secretary of UK actors union Equity has returned to the possibility of strike action if negotiations with UK producer trade body Pact and the streamers collapse.
Speaking at the Equity conference over the weekend, Paul Fleming said the 50,000-strong union is “industrial action ready” as it bids to strike a deal featuring its “most ambitious claims for our TV and film agreements in a generation.”
Negotiations with Pact, which represents hundreds of production companies, have been rumbling on for months and months. Equity’s proposal is comprised of five demands: pay, secondary payments (aka compensation), AI, guidelines around self tapes and an end to special stipulations from the streamers.
“We’re not changing our approach or our demands,” said Fleming at the conference in Derry, Northern Ireland. “The message is simple: we have put in the most ambitious claims for our TV and film agreements in a generation.

The world just saw Lewis Pullman crush it as Robert Reynolds, aka Sentry, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s recent installment, Thunderbolts* (The New Avengers). Lewis is no stranger to the spotlight, being the son of acting legend Bill Pullman. However, he has made his own path with his performances in indie gems and blockbuster hits.
He started his career with short films, Westerns, and horrors, and one thing that can be said about his filmography is that the actor has got range. Lewis has brought a sort of quiet charisma and intensity to most of his roles, and if you have liked the way he portrayed Bob/Sentry/Void in Thunderbolts*, here are 10 of his movies that also deserve your attention.

Paul W. Fleming has been elected for a second term as the general secretary of UK actors’ union Equity after securing support from the likes of Olivia Colman, Judi Dench, and Simon Pegg.
Fleming ran against Riky Ash, a stunt professional, and secured an 81% share of the vote. He will serve another five-year term, meaning he will lead the union until 2030.

Incoming Harry Potter actor John Lithgow says he wasn't prepared for the backlash he received after joining the cast of HBO's new series, and that he's "curious" to have a conversation with J.K. Rowling about it all. Lithgow has been tapped to play Albus Dumbledore in the fresh adaptation of Rowling's novels, which is set to hit the small screen next year. The series is drawing the ire of many in a way the films never did, thanks to Rowling's outspoken views on the transgender community, which date as far back as 2020.
Speaking with The Times of London about his portrayal of antisemitic children's author Roald Dahl in the stage play, Giant, the subject of Harry Potter inevitably came up. How could it not? Lithgow's appearance in the project has been garnering a ton of attention because, as he put it, it's probably "the last major role" he'll ever play.

Paddington in Peru hasn't been out for long, but it may already be available to stream in some regions. For instance, in the United States, it is already available on Amazon Prime.
That’s where it can get awkward, as some regions get the film on the streaming platform at different times. It’s been in UK cinemas since November last year and hit US movie screens in February. That staggered date approach also applies to when it is released on Netflix.
The UK version of Netflix has already seen the film released, making it available on April 8. In the US, there isn't a firm Netflix release date yet, but it seems likely to be released soon, within the coming weeks.

Netflix is bringing another classic novel adaptation to the screen. Edith Wharton's The Age of Innocence, which was previously filmed by Martin Scorsese in 1993, is being adapted into a miniseries at the streamer. The news comes on the heels, coincidentally, of Miramax announcing plans to produce a series adaptation of Gangs of New York, another Scorsese film that, like The Age of Innocence, also starred Daniel Day-Lewis.
Netflix has tapped British screenwriter Emma Frost, a veteran of Shameless, The Spanish Princess, and The Man in the High Castle, to showrun the series. Frost is not to be confused with the Marvel Comics character of the same name, although she did write for The White Queen. It will attempt to stay true to the novel's original themes, while also bringing the novel to a new, younger audience. The series is the latest in Netflix's attempts to mine the literary canon for content.

The Best Drama Actress Emmy race could be one for the ages this year. Kathy Bates would become the category's oldest winner at 77 if she prevails for Matlock, but one the other end of the spectrum, Bella Ramsey would be the youngest winner with a victory for The Last of Us.
Ramsey, who'd also be the first non-binary performer to win an Emmy, will be 11 days shy of their 22nd birthday at the time of Emmy ceremony on Sept. 14. They would dethrone Zendaya, who was 24 when she won her first of two trophies for Euphoria in 2020. Ramsey could've set this record on their first nomination for the HBO drama at 20 at the delayed 2023 ceremony, but they lost to Sarah Snook (Succession).
Recent trends favor Ramsey to make history more so than Bates. Zendaya broke the record just a year after Jodie Comer set it with her Best Drama Actress win...

After the success of two films following Paddington the Bear’s adventures into the bustling city of London, the third installment of the franchise, Paddington in Peru, takes the beloved character back to his roots. This time, Paddington journeys to his homeland in search of his Aunt Lucy, only to find himself swept up in an unexpected adventure.
While the film received positive reviews and has still performed fairly well at the box office, some viewers couldn’t help but feel that it lacked the distinct British charm that made the first two films so memorable.

Olivia Colman once ruled the screen as Queen Elizabeth II in The Crown. Now? She’s trading Buckingham Palace for bear-sized mayhem—starring alongside the late monarch herself. Yep, the Queen (as in The Queen) makes a posthumous cameo in Paddington in Peru, and she’s in some star-studded company: Hugh Bonneville, Julie Walters, and Ben Whishaw all return for the ride.
But let’s talk about the real scene-stealer—Olivia Colman as The Reverend Mother, the film’s new baddie. And honestly? She’s the perfect dose of chaotic energy this sweet marmalade-slicked franchise didn’t know it needed.
Colman dives into villainy with the kind of delicious flair that makes you wish she’d been stirring up trouble from the very first jar of marmalade.

Upcoming comedy The Roses, starring Olivia Colman and Benedict Cumberbatch as a warring couple, arrives in August. Have a trailer:
On paper, everything about Searchlight’s upcoming remake of the 1989 dark comedy, The War Of The Roses looks to be in order. You get Olivia Colman and Benedict Cumberbatch as the unhappy couple, delivering withering put-downs in a steadily escalating conflict that gets rather out of hand.
Plus, it has Jay Roach at the helm, a filmmaker who knows how to craft a big studio comedy, not to mention a script from Poor Things and The Favourite writer Tony McNamara. This doesn’t look like it will have the frisson of the Danny DeVito film that starred Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner, though. The original War Of The Roses was a continuation of the chemistry the duo perfected in 1984’s Romancing The Stone and the following year’s sequel, The Jewel Of The Nile.

Benedict Cumberbatch is an actor known for playing all kinds of roles – geniuses (Sherlock), dragons (The Hobbit trilogy), time-bending doctors (Doctor Strange) and numerous dramatic leading roles. The one thing we don’t get to see him fully lean into very often? Comedy. That’s about to change with The Roses, in which he stars opposite Olivia Colman as a married couple having some pretty extreme relationship troubles. Watch the trailer below.
Cumberbatch and Colman are Theo and Ivy Rose, spouses living a seemingly perfect life with their kids in a beautiful house by the beach. But under the surface, jealousy and resentment starts bubbling up, with Theo’s career takes a downward turn just as Ivy’s is taking off. Cue a series of escalating jabs and retaliations at each other as they start to face their marital problems – including awkward exchanges over dinner, crabs in a bathtub, and gunshots in the kitchen.

"I just want the house... I built it." Searchlight Pictures has unveieled the first official trailer for relationship comedy The Roses, the latest comedy from filmmaker Jay Roach. Searchlight has this set for release at the end of August at the end of the summer coming up in a few more months. "All's fair when love is war." An updated take on the book "The War of the Roses" written by Warren Adler, which was already adapted before into 1989 comedy of the same name. The Roses features Benedict Cumberbatch, Olivia Colman, Andy Samberg, Allison Janney, Belinda Bromilow, Sunita Mani, Ncuti Gatwa, Jamie Demetriou, Zoë Chao, and Kate McKinnon. This trailer starts out all nice and peaceful, erupting into all-out divorce chaos by the end.

Benedict Cumberbatch and Olivia Colman play a picture-perfect married couple who descend into a bitter cat-and-dog divorce battle in the trailer for The Roses, director Jay Roach’s dark comedy.
Cumberbatch is Theo, whose career nosedives while Ivy (Colman) sees her ambitions take off just as their increasingly competitive and resentful marriage leads to a bracingly nasty divorce battle to divide up what they own.
“Things are getting a little hand,” a deadpanning Theo tells a menacingly angry Ivy at one point in the trailer, as she points a pistol in his direction.
Amid screaming matches and food fights, Theo and Ivy fight to the finish in the reimagining of the 1989 classic film The War of the Roses, which was based on the novel by Warren Adler and had Danny DeVito directing leads Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner.
