- Arlene Tur is an American actress, producer, television presenter, and model, best known for her roles as Armenia opposite Julia Roberts and Javier Bardem in Eat Pray Love (2010), as Bebe Arcel in the Starz TV drama series Crash (2008), and as Vera Juarez in BBC sci-fi drama Torchwood (2006): Miracle Day. Additional career highlights include guest appearances on Jinji Kohan's Netflix series Teenage Bounty Hunters (2020), Grey's Anatomy (2005), The Rookie: Feds (2022), and Lie to Me (2009), as well as starring roles in NBC's Haskett's Chance (2006) and the film Final Engagement with Peter O'Toole. Tur can be seen on Netflix in her new film That's Amor (2022).
Born and raised in Miami, Florida, by Cuban parents, Tur graduated from Florida International University with dual degrees in Marketing and Public Relations. She began her career in entertainment as a model and later transitioned into acting, starting with a lead role in the hit Hispanic comedy series Los Teens (2003) for Telemundo/NBC. Her acting training includes studying at HB Studios in New York City and Howard Fine in Los Angeles. Upon moving to Los Angeles, she earned a role in the ABC pilot Harry Green and Eugene (2004) alongside Jason Segel and Mark Valley, where her comedic flair grabbed the attention of casting directors and studio executives, garnering her a holding deal at ABC.
In addition to her acting career, Tur is a TV host and producer. She has hosted shows on various networks, including the Discovery Channel, E! Entertainment Television, and the Travel Channel.
