The bad news is that these particular releases are from a British distributor, and the normal Blu-rays are Region B. The Hollywood Reporter recently caught up with the trio of Heald, Hurwitz and Schlossberg to talk about how endings are made, the climatic scene where two infamous villains take their final bow, what it was like to bring back Mr. Miyagi, their meta cameos and that Back to the Future pitch, and whether or not Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) and Daniel Larusso (Ralph Macchio) will find a new understanding and possible life-long friendship beyond the final episode of the series.

The Karate Kid fans were equal parts excited and skeptical when Cobra Kai aired in 2018. The series focused on Johnny Lawrence, who was once a villainous high school bully, but the premise sounded too odd, and people had their doubts.

Cobra Kai's final season has finally arrived, and with it, several character arcs had to be closed out. Some of those arcs were more predictable than others; however, the conclusion Sam left many fans divided. Scholssenberg, during a QnA on X, was asked by a fan if he was happy with the ending for Samantha "Sam" Larusso (played by Mary Mouser), the daughter of the original karate kid, Daniel Larusso (Ralph Macchio). Fans were left surprised when Sam didn't end up following in her father's footsteps by winning the tournament, and instead, chose to drop out once she realized she wasn't fighting with any purpose.

Cobra Kai co-creator Hayden Schlossberg recently revealed why one cameo that fans wanted to see in the Netflix series never happened. Schlossberg took the time to answer many fan questions on X (formerly Twitter).

"Was there ever any conversation of having a cameo from Niel Patrick Harris?" One fan asked Schlossberg on X. "I know Ralph and William's Himym reunion and Barney's thoughts on the Karate Kid lined up pretty well with what Cobra Kai ended up being, it would be cool to know if that would have been acknowledged." Schlossberg replied: "No, that would have taken us out of the story."

And just like that…. it was over. Gone. But is it gone for good? Or is there still a chance that the Cobra Kai will grace our screens again?

Who would have thought that one simple movie about a boy learning karate to defeat the boys who bully him and impress the girl of his dreams would have spawned a franchise that continues to this day?

As we conclude the final season of Cobra Kai, it is incredible to realize that we have seen everything we wanted and more. The Johnny Lawrence redemption story was the crowning achievement and was masterfully done as well.

The black gi is a symbol of Cobra Kai’s aggressive and no-mercy philosophy. So when Daniel Larusso, who’s the embodiment of Miyagi-Do, wore it in the finale, the moment became seismic.

Cobra Kai co-creator Hayden Schlossberg has addressed one of the mysteries left unsolved after the Netflix series' ending. With the series finale, viewers expected Mr. Miyagi's (the late Pat Morita) dark past to be expanded and explained in more detail, but this didn't happen. Instead, we saw the legacy character return in a dream sequence that didn't do much to answer the questions about Miyagi's participation in a karate match where his opponent died. Instead, it was a nostalgia-based scene that apparently helped Daniel Larusso (Ralph Macchio) change his mind about his daughter's refusal to fight.

Schlossberg participated in a Q&a session on X/Twitter with Cobra Kai fans in order to answer a few questions about the Karate Kid spin-off that ended its six-season run a few days ago. The showrunner was kind enough to shed light on fan theories, spin-offs (an Iron Dragon series sounds awesome), and how some storylines concluded.

In the final minutes of the Cobra Kai series finale, the action moves to a Los Angeles sushi restaurant with real-life Cobra Kai creators Jon Hurwitz and Josh Heald seated at the bar. “The show would be set in Hill Valley, alternate 1985,” says Hurwitz. “All we need are Wilson, Thompson, and Zane, and we got the green light.”

For those of you who don’t speak fluent nerd, Hurwitz is talking about a Back to the Future show taking place in the alternative, dystopian Hill Valley we saw in Back to the Future II.

"Cobra Kai" season 6 uses AI to resurrect Mr. Miyagi, which was a controversial creative decision due to the fact actor Pat Morita passed away in 2005. It's especially noticeable when he shows up to help his Daniel Larusso (Ralph Macchio) defeat a group of skeletons and offer one last nugget of wisdom during a dream sequence. Some viewers will view it as a full-circle moment for the pair's relationship, while others will argue that it's yet another example of the Uncanny Valley haunting our entertainment.

Cobra Kai ended its six-season run by permanently dissolving the rivalry between Daniel Larusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka). The series also got rid of its Karate Kid villains in the most dramatic way possible.

Speaking to GamesRadar+, showrunner Jon Hurwitz said that Daniel and Johnny reconciling was always the plan. "It was always the idea, speaking specifically for the very end with Johnny and Daniel, we wanted them to be together and finally have a friendship," he explained. "It's so funny 'cause I remember in season one when we were making the show, the early notes we got from the studio were, 'Can Johnny and Daniel be running a dojo together?'"
