The most-awaited Superman trailer is here, providing us with the best preview of James Gunn’s movie so far. The trailer continues with the bright and hopeful visuals that the several teasers promised while making slight edits on some scenes that earlier received criticism. Overall, fans are really loving Gunn’s unique spin on the Man of Steel.

In addition to David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, Jimmy Olsen, Nathan Fillion, Edi Gathegi, and Isabela Merced, we see several actors in their characters in the new trailer. As we draw closer to the release of James Gunn's Superman and new tie-in merchandise continues to hit the shelves, these toy sets are beginning to get a little more revealing.

Possible spoilers follow.

The Luthorcorp Lab set below comes with action figures of Superman (David Corenswet), Mr. Terrific (Edi Gathegi), Metamorpho (Anthony Carrigan), and Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult) in his green (likely Kryptonite-infused) Warsuit. Also included are Krypto, and a mysterious green infant listed as "Baby Joey."

There's speculation that this could be the same creature spotted in the recent BTS featurette, or possibly even Luthor's not-yet-matured clone of the Man of Steel, aka Ultraman, aka the Hammer of Boravia. We still haven't seen this character without a mask, so he could very well have green skin.

DC Studios is keeping the momentum going from yesterday's Superman trailer release by sharing three new stills (via Entertainment Weekly).

In those, we see a tense confrontation between the Man of Steel and Lex Luthor, a behind-the-scenes shot with actors David Corenswet, Nicholas Hoult, and filmmaker James Gunn, and the LexCorp CEO looking far from pleased.

The site spoke with Hoult about playing the iconic comic book villain, and the actor explained how this Lex is more than a match for Superman.

The breathtaking new Superman trailer featured even more exciting kaiju action, but a newly surfaced toy set appears to reveal another of the movie's monsters.

As you can see below, there will be an Abominable Snowman-like creature in the Fortress of Solitude. Not every toy is representative of what we'll see on screen, though it seems unlikely that this has been pulled out of thin air.

In the comics, Superman maintained an elaborate game preserve in the Fortress filled with various interplanetary animals. Many of the animals found in the zoo were either representative of an endangered species or the last surviving specimens of destroyed worlds.

That could be the case with this beast, and we wouldn't be surprised if Lex Luthor and The Engineer encounter it while raiding the Man of Tomorrow's arctic hideout.

The latest preview for the first ever Dcu movie featured a lot of new footage, but also included a few shots from the initial teaser, and fans have noticed a change to one particular moment that sparked some debate online.

Though most of you will probably find this somewhat innocuous, some fans took issue with the Man of Steel (David Corenswet) blinking when one of the protestors throws a tin can at the back of his head.

The backlash seemed to stem from the notion that Superman wouldn't flinch in this situation, since he's pretty much invulnerable and constantly dealing with criminals shooting at him and all manner of other threats.

The trailer is a bit on the long side at 3 minutes, but it doesn’t offer a whole lot of plot detail, does it? It's the dawn of a new era in the DC Universe and Superman, fittingly enough, will be leading the way. Director James Gunn's first film in this rebooted franchise is both a litmus test and a statement of intent. It's one thing to take on the mission of charting a fresh new course for this pantheon of DC heroes. It's quite another to do so while also establishing a fresh new tone and taking a much more traditional approach to the most famous superhero in the world. Sure,Creature Commandos did give us our first little taste of the Dcu, but Superman will be the real test. Depending on who you listen to (or your opinions on the trailers), the buzz hasn’t all been positive, so Warner Bros. will want to push this one really hard to get people in theaters.

As you might expect, the ad is mostly Kryto-focused, as we see Mr. Terrific (Edi Gathegi) feeding the rambunctious Super-Dog some treats as he (presumably) attempts to get the pooch to follow him. We saw this scene being filmed in set photos back when the movie was shooting, but Gathegi obviously didn't have the CGI dog to react to at the time.

The commercial ends with a new look at the Man of Steel (David Corenswet) waking up to find Krypto lying on his chest (awwww).

Following an extended break from social media, DC Studios co-ceo and Superman director James Gunn has answered a handful of fan questions, including one about whether Clark Kent is poor or from a middle-class background.

Weighing in on the debate, Gunn shed some light on how he's approached the Dcu's take on the character. "Our house in Superman is a converted double-wide trailer," the filmmaker said, explaining why he settled on that approach rather than the expected farmhouse. "I wanted his upbringing to reflect more closely the Missouri farmers I was raised around."

Actress and supermodel Sara Sampaio joined the cast of DC Studios’ Superman in November 2023 at the same time Skyler Gisondo was announced as Jimmy Olsen.

A new image from the Superman set (via Screen Rant) show Superman and Krypto in the chilled Fortress of Solitude. The still shows the Last Son of Krypton arguing with a less-than-amused Krypto while one of the fortress' robots looks on in the background. It's hardly a surprise, as many of Superman's comics have balanced Truth, Justice, and the American Way with politics; heck, Lex Luthor even became President of the United States for a time.

A multitude of Superman plot leaks have been doing the rounds in recent weeks. The latest pertains to Sean Gunn's Maxwell Lord, and comes after the Guardians of the Galaxy star confirmed he'll appear in the movie this July.

According to scooper @MyTimeToShineH, "Max Lord (Sean Gunn) only appears in one scene in Superman. He's on [TV], saying 'The one thing both the left and right can agree on is that Lex Luthor sucks.'"

Is that a joke anyone is likely to be offended by?...

New action figures for Superman have been revealed, and they show the Man of Steel finding a unique use for his Super Breath. While there's no guarantee that what's shown here will make it into the movie, the hero has armed himself with ice-gauntlets.

This would make for a cool—pun intended—visual on screen, and is a far more comic book-inspired approach to Superman's powers than other recent interpretations we've seen.

Also of note is the fact that Guy Gardner/Green Lantern comes bundled with some saw blade energy constructs. Mr. Terrific, meanwhile, has his patented T-Sphere weapons.

As for the villainous Hammer of Boravia (widely believed to be Ultraman in disguise), he looks like a suitably formidable opponent for the Dcu's Superman. We'll no doubt see plenty more merchandise in the weeks ahead, with the next trailer bound to showcase at least some of his abilities.

There's a lot of excitement and intrigue surrounding James Gunn's Superman, the movie that will launch DC Studios' Dcu. Fans remain eager for a new trailer (despite recently getting a 5-minute sneak peek and featurette), and it's rumoured to drop later this month.

DC Studios is separate from Warner Bros. in the same way that Marvel Studios largely stands apart from Disney. However, studio heads Pam Abdy and Mike De Luca still have their finger on the pulse, and told SmartLess hosts Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, and Sean Hayes that they've seen an early cut of the reboot.

While the majority of Dceu actors aren't part of DC Studios' Dcu plans, The Suicide Squad star Sean Gunn has already landed multiple roles in the reboot being mapped out by his brother, James Gunn.

The Guardians of the Galaxy standout stole the show last year in Creature Commandos as G.I. Robot and reprised his previous role, Weasel, as well. While he's bound to lend his voice to both characters in live-action somewhere down the line, Gunn's main on-camera role will be as the villainous Maxwell Lord.

The character is expected to be less of a full-blown baddie and more of an antagonist in the Dcu, bringing the Wonder Woman 1984 character (where he was played by Pedro Pascal) more in line with his comic book counterpart.

James Gunn's Superman figures to be one of the biggest movies of the year and Hawkgirl actress Isabela Merced and Engineer actress Maria Gabriela de Faria are reflecting on their experiences at different points of the filming process.

For De Faria who portrays one of DC Comics' most powerful characters, the Engineer, she reflected on the physical nature of her role. It sounds like she'll have some intense fight scenes, although we haven't seen much of the character in any of the previously released footage.

Speaking to Remezcla, de Faria stated, "This experience was super challenging physically, but it was also very challenging emotionally. My character as The Engineer is a very physical character."

"And not only because of the image that the character has in the comic. But because of all the things I had to do on set. here is a lot of fighting and flying there.

Our first look at Superman came in the form of an official still, though it was far more divisive than most early sneak peeks.

The intention was to show how different this Man of Steel is, with the hero lacing up his boots, one at a time. Unfortunately, it wasn't an overly flattering shot of the suit and Superman's seemingly relaxed actions seemed questionable with a huge glowing orb causing chaos outside.

The orb has been the subject of great debate; is it Metamorpho's evolved form, something Parasite-related, or could it even herald the arrival of Mongul?
