No offense, Tristan, but nope. You are not our girl’s endgame. At least, you better not be! As the habitually wonderful, spooky-ooky adaptation of the Carolyn Keene’s Nancy Drew novels comes to a too-soon close on August 23, Nancy (Kennedy McMann) is still being kept from her Otl Ace (Alex Saxon) because it turns out, she and Tristan (Henry Zaga) share a centuries-old connection that has bound their souls together. Because, of course, just having a death curse placed on Nace that prevents them from ever being together isn’t bad enough. Ya gotta go and have a soulmate who is also a Sin Eater with perfect hair. Colin Bentley/The CW In TV Insider’s exclusive clip from the series finale, “The Light Between Lives,” Nancy comes to after having a series of visions that clue her in to why she and Tristan seem to be so entangled.

The long-pending separation of the Lionsgate studio and Starz businesses will take a little longer, the company said Wednesday. A new acquisition and other factors have pushed the split from September to early 2024.
“With the impact of the eOne acquisition on regulatory approvals, uncertainties surrounding the strike and our efforts to create the most efficient capital structure within a disruptive marketplace, we anticipate that the separation will now take place in the first quarter of calendar 2024,” Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer, said on the company’s fiscal first quarter earnings call Wednesday.
The mini-major recently finalized plans to purchase Entertainment One from Hasbro for $500 million, a lot less than the $3.9 billion Hasbro paid for the studio in 2019. The acquisition gives Lionsgate another batch of titles and IP to add to its already large library.

A version of this story about Juliette Lewis and “Yellowjackets” first ran in the Drama Series issue of TheWrap’s awards magazine.
Every time Juliette Lewis finishes a project, she is reminded of Dorothy waking up from her dream in “The Wizard of Oz” and trying to explain the profound experience she just went through. “You have this magical journey. I always think of, ‘And the Tin Man was there and Toto and the lion!’” Lewis said, paraphrasing Dorothy. Waking up from her “Yellowjackets” dream at the end of Season 2 was particularly emotional. “The crew, our A.D. department, that cast — you could be weeping about it,” she said. (Spoilers ahead!)
For two seasons on Showtime’s addictive thriller, Lewis’ Natalie Scatorccio wore her trauma on her sleeve, grappling with survivor’s guilt and memories of the horror she and her soccer teammates lived through as teenagers stranded in the wilderness.

This story about the editors of “Yellowjackets” first ran in the Drama Series issue of TheWrap’s awards magazine.
The opening theme to “Yellowjackets” goes, “keep simple, nothing tired,” and this mantra could not apply more to the people who might actually be the true heroes behind the Showtime hit: the tireless editing team. The drama’s second season about a group of women grappling with the aftermath of a crash landing in the wilderness in their youth has pushed the envelope even further (cults! cannibalism!) and introduced more characters (including Elijah Wood’s wealthy amateur sleuth). But for two of the prominent editors on the show, Kevin D. Ross and Jeff Israel, it was just another day at the office, conveniently located in their own residences.
“We all work from home, so we have to keep contact in with each other constantly,” Israel said. “They’re writing the episodes...

The Season 2 finale of “Yellowjackets” left us with dropped jaws — and a lot of questions. We still don’t know who “pit girl” is, but we did see how things escalate to the point where the survivors began hunting each other to stay alive.
Although, as creators Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson told TheWrap before the Season 2 premiere, not every question will be answered. Said Nickerson, when asked if he minded the comparisons to the often frustrating “Lost”: “I don’t always want everything to be answered. Like, I do and I don’t, because so much of what made ‘Lost’ so engrossing was the mystery, not just the mystery of what happened, but the sort of reclamation of the spookiness of being alive. You can’t give all the answers and maintain that spookiness.”
With that in mind, here are some of the most pressing issues that still need to be answered.

Episode seven of “Yellowjackets” Season 2, “Burial,” offers a temporary calm after episode six’s tempestuous storm. As the season faces its final few episodes, “Burial” dials back the turbulent intensity just enough to develop individual character arcs further as the Yellowjackets finally reunite. Episode seven explores the fallout of “Qui,” forcing its characters to confront truths, grapple with their inner turmoil and traumas, and steel themselves for another raging storm.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Yellowjackets Season 2 Episode 5 “Two Truths and a Lie.”] “She’s not doing well,” Courtney Eaton says of Teen Lottie in Yellowjackets Season 2. “Two Truths and a Lie” ends with, in the wilderness timeline, Shauna (Sophie Nélisse) going into labor. And if you think no one out there is equipped to handle what’s coming next? You’d be right. While Lottie’s excited and nervous, “the rest of the group feels the pressure of what’s about to happen,” Eaton told TV Insider on The Buzz on Yellowjackets aftershow. “There’s that heaviness weighing in the air of what’s going to happen and how do we get through this?” So who will be handling it the best? “It might be Shauna who keeps her head on the most,” she admitted. Colin Bentley/Showtime This comes as Shauna’s dislike for her character is building, Eaton confirmed. “Lottie is lingering,...

Episode four of “Yellowjackets” Season 2, “Old Wounds,” picks up with both teen and adult Tai regaining control and consciousness. In the present, it sends Tai running for the only person she knows will understand, while the past sees Tai in denial as her strange trances begin to drive a wedge in her relationship with Van (Liv Hewson). The slow formation of dividing lines extends beyond Tai and Van, becoming the running theme of the episode.

It’s the spark that emboldens Lottie’s (Courtney Eaton) followers, sowing dissension among the ranks. When Nat (Sophie Thatcher) gets accused of not pulling her weight as the group’s hunter, it sparks a dangerous bet on who’s the better leader/provider: Lottie for her otherworldly mysticism or Nat and her pragmatic nature. “I think shit is going to get a lot worse out here.”
Nat (Sophie Thatcher) says this aloud to what remains of Jackie’s body the day after the starving survivors of the plane crash descend upon her charred corpse. She’s not wrong; all signs point to mounting tension and catastrophe for the group. Episode three of “Yellowjackets” Season 2, “Digestif,” grapples with the psychological fallout of their cannibalism as it’s compounded by peculiar events that suggest the land’s power grows in supernatural strength.
Unreliable reality pervades this episode for many of its central players. At the forefront of this theme is Taissa (Jasmin Savoy Brown), who struggles the most with the feast upon Jackie’s barbecued body. She has no memory of the act, and her visceral repulsion at the idea of partaking in cannibalism concerns Van (Liv Hewson). The teens decide to rally with a distraction...

Neal McDonough is a prolific actor and producer who thrives as the ultimate bad guy. With more than 100 movies and thousands of hours of TV, this makes him an ideal candidate to serve as the president of the jury for fiction at the Monte-Carlo Television Festival. The star looks back at his body of work, proud of the road, crediting Band of Brothers as that real big break. It was also on set where he met his now-wife Ruvé. Since audiences have seen him square off with The Rock on film in Walking Tall, vindictive husband Dave on Desperate Housewives, and s**t starting prosecutor on Suits. We sat down with McDonough before the festival to talk about the evolution of TV, as well as his most recent popular roles on the small screen in Yellowstone and the Arrowverse. On November 5, more than two years after The CW ordered a prequel spinoff for The 100, news broke the project was officially dead. The proposed spinoff, glimpsed in the 100 backdoor-pilot episode “Anaconda,” would have rewound the action to the time of the nuclear apocalypse that started it all. Of course, this isn’t the first time a highly-anticipated spinoff never got a chance to forge its own path. Here are 11 more nixed offshoots, including several that started (and ended) with backdoor pilots.
