But seriously, what happened with Daya and that gun?! Orange Is the New Black fans will finally learn the fate of everyone’s favorite anime-drawing inmate on Friday, June 9 when the Netflix prison drama returns for Season 5.
More: Exclusive: Taryn Manning Talks Her Struggle to Stay Sober, Reveals Her Father Took His Own Life
And to give viewers a little teaser for the show’s next installment, a 15-second trailer was released on Wednesday. Obviously, no big questions were answered, but it certainly reminded us of the stress of the intense Season 4 finale.
The trailer featured brief shots of several of the Litchfield inmates, including Piper (Taylor Schilling), Alex (Laura Prepon), Taystee (Danielle Brooks), Lorna (Yael Stone), Red (Kate Mulgrew), and more, all looking stressed before cutting back to Daya (Dascha Polanco) pointing a gun.
In the Season 4 finale of the show, the inmates were reeling from the senseless death of the beloved Poussey (Samira Wiley) and started...

Seth MacFarlane’s star continues to wane, in this clumsy, bear’s adventure
After a toe-curling turn hosting the Oscars in 2013, and the disappointing reception for last year’s A Million Ways to Die in the West, Ted 2 confirms that Seth MacFarlane really is nowhere near as funny as he thinks.
Returning to an idea that had run its course by the end of 2012’s original (“the highest grossing R-rated comedy of all time”, apparently), Ted 2 adds a dash of mawkish sub-Capra self-justification to the usual cocktail of spunk, weed and porn gags. With his marriage to Tami-Lynn in trouble, talking bear Ted finds his existence threatened when the state rules that he is not a person and therefore has no rights. Teaming up with stoner lawyer Samantha L Jackson (Amanda Seyfried), perennial wastrel John Bennett (Mark Wahlberg) promises to take his case to the highest court in the land,...

Mila Kunis married Ashton Kutcher over the weekend, and while little is known about their wedding at this point, E! News can say with certainty that the 31-year-old actress looks lovely in bridal couture. How can we be so sure? Though this is Kunis' first marriage, it's actually not her first time wearing a white gown. Just over four years ago, on July 1, 2011, Kunis was spotted on the set of Universal Pictures' Ted in Boston. Lori Collins (Kunis) modeled Monique Lhuillier's "Amelie" gown to marry John Bennett (Mark Wahlberg). The mermaid-style gown featured Alençon-lace and came with a crystal embedded sash. On May 14, 2012, Kunis was photographed wearing a very different kind of wedding...

Ted 2 hasn.t quite matched the success of the original. Its reviews have been relatively lukewarm, while its $32.9 million box-office return was around $15 million less than Universal expected (according to analysts). Ted 2 star Amanda Seyfried has got a pretty good idea for how to rejuvenate the stagnated comedy franchise though, because she wants to see Mark Wahlberg.s John Bennett and Seth MacFarlane.s Ted as dads. Amanda Seyfried made this revelation to me during our chat ahead of Ted 2.s release. After I asked if she would like to return for a potential third Ted film, Seyfried insisted that not only is she willing to reprise her role as Samantha Leslie Jackson, but she.d be offended if she wasn.t asked. And to help her seal the deal she.s already devised up the perfect plot for the comedy. Seyfried said of John Bennett and...

Mark Wahlberg and Seth MacFarlane are back as John Bennett and his childhood stuffed bear Ted in the new film Ted 2. For those not familiar with the first film, Ted comes to life after a Christmas wish a younger John makes. Fast forward to the present, and both are grown up losers (of the lovable variety), smoking weed and drinking beer through life. A few years have passed in between the first movie and the sequel, and some things have changed. John is now divorced, and, as Ted 2 opens, Ted is marrying his one true love Tami-Lynn (Jessica Barth).
The film’s conflict begins once the honeymoon is over. Ted and Tami-Lynn are fighting more than expected and after some advice from a fellow cashier, Ted and Tami-Lynn decide to have a baby. The only problem is, Ted is a living stuffed animal with no working parts. Through...

Tom Brady filmed his cameo appearance on “Ted 2” long before the Deflategate scandal that ultimately landed him in an appeal hearing that began this week. However, that didn’t stop the biggest challenge of the New England Patriots Qb’s career from ending up in the raucous comedy. Boston native and die-hard Patriots fan Mark Wahlberg has made it very clear that he supports Brady in his fight against the NFL suspension, and his character John Bennett is a big admirer of the Super Bowl Champion’s too. The original scene depicted Brady sleeping in bed as John and...

Get your bongs and your six packs of beer ready, as Hollywood’s most outrageous teddy bear is back. Creator Seth MacFarlane and stars Mark Wahlberg and Amanda Seyfried were among those who attended the “Ted 2” premiere at the Ziegfeld Theater in New York City on Wednesday to celebrate the hard-partying cuddly character. While she is mocked for her “Gollum eyes” in the raucous comedy, Seyfried, who plays an attorney hired by Ted, boasted dramatic cornrows at the premiere. Getty Images Wahlberg, who reprises his role as Ted’s thunder buddy John Bennett, was joined by his wife, Rhea Durham.

The time of year has come to honor some of the best and the brightest in the Latino entertainment community. The National Association of Latino Independent Producers will host the 16th annual Latino Media Awards in Hollywood June 27. Set to be honored are actors Raquel Welch, Dascha Polanco (“Orange Is the New Black”), writer-director-star of “Instructions Not Included” Eugenio Derbez, and other industry players. “Every year Nalip surveys the media landscape to identify Latinos and Latinas making strides, impacting, and changing the face of the industry,” Axel Caballero, executive director of Nalip, told Backstage via email. “Awardees are selected based on their incredible accomplishments and body of work, and how this advances our mission to move Latin media-makers forward. This year, the impressive awardees are a perfect representation of this.” Polanco, who stars on “Oitnb” as inmate and correctional officer John Bennett’s (Matt McGorry) love interest Dayanara Diaz, will receive the Lupe Award.

It didn.t take much to convince Amanda Seyfried to join Ted 2. Having worked with Seth MacFarlane on A Million Ways To Die In The West the actress was more than happy to reunite with the writer and director. However, Ted 2 didn.t end up being anything like the film that was originally sold to her. In fact, it was initially described to her as a road trip movie, an idea that MacFarlane soon dropped. During a recent discussion that I had with Amanda Seyfried to talk about her role as Samantha Leslie Jackson in Ted 2, she admitted that MacFarlane originally imagined that the comedy would see John Bennett (Mark Wahlberg) and Ted (voiced by MacFarlane) drive across the country. Seyfried revealed: I remember them being, it.s kind of a road trip movie. That.s what Seth told me when he was writing the script, because...

McGorry, who also stars on ABC's How to Get Away With Murder, took to Instagram to address the hate and difference between real life and television. TV is not real life but, technically, Netflix is not TV. So ... is Netflix real life? Don't Run From The Question, Matt McGorry! Poor Matt has been taking serious heat from "Orange Is the New Black" fans, because his character, Bennett, did a cowardly thing in Season 3, and anytime an actor/actress plays a character, he or she is treated like that character. This is good if you play someone cool that everyone loves, but not so good if that character does something that ticks people off. When that happens, you are pummeled online with tweet after tweet asking why you did something you never actually did. It's good to have a passionate audience, but not so good when it affects your real life in a negative way.

The newest red band trailer for “Ted 2” opens with an epic jab at “Star Wars,” spoofing the saga with a little Darth-Vader-doing-bong-rips heavy-breathing humor. It gets even more ridiculous from there. After smoking a new strand of weed called “Help Me Get Home,” Wahlberg’s John Bennett really needs to find his way back to the apartment he shares with the adorably crass titular teddy bear. Cue a recurring joke over the duration of the one-minute, 18-second video, which includes mistaken car horns for ghosts The whole thing ends with a pretty epic car crash and Seth MacFarlane‘s stuffed animal blowing his nose.

Lovelace and Les Misérables actress Amanda Seyfried has been tapped to join Mark Wahlberg in Seth MacFarlane’s Ted 2. 2012′s Ted, which featured Wahlberg as best friends with an anthropomorphic, filthy-mouthed stuffed bear, voiced by MacFarlane, scored big with audiences, becoming the highest grossing R-rated film of the year, and also the highest-grossing R-rated comedy ever, nailing a final box office haul of 549.4 million dollars worldwide. Markedly absent from the conversation is MacFarlane collaborator Mila Kunis, voice of Meg Griffin on his Fox animated series Family Guy, and co-star of Wahlberg in the previous film as Mark’s love interest, Lori Collins. From what has been reported, there’s no conflict between the Black Swan actress and her network television boss, but rather, MacFarlane has simply decided to take the story in a new creative direction. There is still a chance she will appear in a limited role, but as the story is still being plotted...

Seth MacFarlane is close to finishing up post-production on his follow up to the surprise hit Ted, the western/comedy A Million Ways to Die in the West. After that he’ll move on to a sequel to Ted, aptly titled Ted 2.
MacFarlane will be back to voice the foul mouthed, alcohol/drug abusing, sentient stuffed animal of the title, with Mark Wahlberg also returning as Ted’s thunder buddy John Bennett. Mila Kunis, however, will not be back, at least not in a lead role.
Deadline is reporting that MacFarlane has cast his A Million Ways to Die in the West costar Amanda Seyfried as the female lead this time around.
Per Deadline there is no rift between MacFarlane and Kunis, who continues to voice Meg on MacFarlane’s Family Guy; it’s just the direction the film has taken since he began plotting it out.

Looks like Amanda Seyfried will be stepping into Mila Kunis' big screen shoes. The 28-year-old beauty is set to play the female lead in Ted 2, the follow-up to Seth MacFarlane's raunchy 2012 comedy, Deadline reports. Mark Wahlberg is set to reprise his role as the titular character, while Mila Kunis will reportedly only have a small role, if any. Lori (Kunis) and Wahlberg's character John Bennett wed at the end of the first film, which went on to become the highest grossing R-rated movie of...

Amanda Seyfried is set to play the female lead in Seth MacFarlane's sequel to his hit comedy Ted. She will join Mark Wahlberg who is coming back to reprise his role as John Bennett, whose best friend is a foul-mouthed teddy bear that he gets into trouble with.
The news comes from Deadline, which says that Mila Kunis might appear in the movie, and if she does it will only be a small role. They explain that the decision not to include Kunis "has nothing to do with anything other than a creative decision that MacFarlane decided to take with the plotting of the sequel."
MacFarlane is almost finished with the post-production process on his next, hilarious-looking film, A Million Ways To Die In The West. That movie also stars Seyfried, so apparently the two had a good time working together.

I.m assuming no one was sitting around in 2011 pining for a comedy about a man talking to a giant teddy bear with the lung capacity for bong hits. But audiences showed up in droves for Seth MacFarlane.s Ted, and for good reason, since it was one of the funniest movies of 2012. The upcoming sequel Ted 2 will hopefully reach the same heights of hilarity, but it.ll be doing it without one of the first film.s leads. Don.t worry, Mark Wahlberg is still there as John Bennett, but Amanda Seyfried will take over as the main female in his life. Apparently some major events will be happening in Ted.s life in between these two narratives. As you might recall, Ted starred Mila Kunis as John.s longtime girlfriend Lori, who was the understandably put-upon character who tried to get John to quit hanging out with...

It would seem there’s going to be a change in Ted (Seth MacFarlane) and John Bennett’s (Mark Wahlberg) life for MacFarlane’s sequel to his successful talking bear movie. Deadline is reporting that Amanda Seyfried is now set to star opposite the Thunder Buddies. What this means for Ted co-star Mila Kunis – who is a core part of the MacFarlane comedy troupe thanks to her work on Family Guy – remains to be seen, but it points to the possibility of the sequel’s plot splitting up John and Lori and Seyfried’s character entering his life. Of course, it’s all speculation for now: MacFarlane is still at work on the script with his regular co-writers while also finishing up the post-production on his film for this year, A Million Ways To Die In The West. Dascha Polanco had two acting credits before joining Orange Is the New Black, and one of them was "Fan #2" on the short-lived series NYC 22. So is it safe to say that Jenji Kohan's Netflix darling is her big break? Yes. Yes, it is. We spoke to the very grateful Brooklyn native, who plays Litchfield's shy, manga-drawing inmate Daya, about auditioning in scrubs — straight from an overnight shift at a hospital; what she thinks of her character's cruel mother; and her affair with the show's only male heartthrob, John Bennett.I read that you were in scrubs for your audition, which at first I thought was to get into character because scrubs are kind of like prison clothes. After a record-breaking run at the box office, which saw it sail past half a billion dollars over the summer, Seth MacFarlane’s feature directorial debut, Ted, is arriving on DVD and Blu-ray in the UK today. And we couldn’t be happier.
The film is by far one of the funniest I’ve seen in a long time, and having teased us with brilliant trailers in the run-up to its release, it didn’t disappoint.
With its arrival on DVD and Blu-ray today – the latter of which also includes a nice Steelbook edition – we’ve been given a great interview to share, in which MacFarlane talks about animation, Mila Kunis, and Mark Wahlberg.

Blu-ray & DVD Release Date: Dec. 11, 2012
Price: DVD $29.98, Blu-ray/DVD Combo $34.98
Studio: Universal Studios Home Entertainment
From the brain of Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane, Ted is as irreverant and outrageous as the TV series.
The comedy movie follows John Bennett, whose beloved teddy bear comes to life when John’s a boy. Fast forward 20-odd years and John (Mark Wahlberg, The Fighter) is still living with his teddy bear, Ted, who has become a foul-mouthed, hard-partying bear who loves his bong.
Clean up after one particularly nasty night of Ted’s partying, John’s girlfriend (Mila Kunis, Friends With Benefits) gives him an ultimatum: The bear or me. But living without each other could prove too difficult for Ted and John.
The R-rated film was directed and co-written by MacFarlane, who also voiced the bear. The movie also stars Joel McHale (The Big Year), Giovanni Ribisi (Contraband), Patrick Warburton (Men in Black II...

Alphas Review, Season 2, Episode 10, “Life after Death”
Written by Eric Tuchman
Directed by J. Miller Tobin
Airs Mondays at 8pm (Et) on SyFy
Last week’s high-flying episode of Alphas was the highlight of the season and showed the remarkable potential for this series. It ended with the tragic death of Rosen’s daughter Dani, who also was romantically involved with Cameron. Stanton Parish set off the bomb that killed her, yet both guys blame themselves for her death. Watching Rosen struggle to choose a casket is a torturous moment and played just right by David Strathairn. He utters few words in this episode and reveals so much with his face. He slowly walks through Dani’s apartment and tries to comprehend that his daughter is gone. On the other hand, Cameron seethes with anger towards Rosen, Parish, and himself. When they come together in the end, it’s their...

Not many teddies get caught in flagrante, but Ted shows what childhood toys can really mean to people
This film is completely bonkers. It's about a guy, John Bennett, who was given a teddy bear for Christmas when he was eight years old. He wished that the bear, which he called Ted, would come to life – and he did. Now John (played by Mark Wahlberg) is 35, and Ted has turned into the most offensive, womanising character you can imagine.
Ted mentions a couple of times that he was made by Hasbro, the big American toy manufacturer. That certainly fits: he's very much your generic, mass-produced bear, made from lower-quality synthetic plush, with plastic eyes and nose. His arms and legs aren't jointed, so they don't move very well.
None of the bears we make at Merrythought has a button that says "I love you" when pressed, either (something that causes...

Comedy, in its most literal sense, is the term lent to anything that is intended to be humorous. Unfortunately, the issue surrounding this definition lies in the subjectivity of humour itself; what exactly makes people laugh? It’s probably fair to say that we’re past the era of Ken Dodd and his ‘tickling stick’. However, as Tom Green proved, neither are we ready for the spectacle of a socially awkward animal molester. So, where does that leave us then? Well, actually, rather nicely in an area known as ‘Restricted’; or ‘R-Rated’ to you and me.
The middle ground of comedy almost exclusively boasts the title of ‘Home of the Funny’. It’s the rating that isn’t restricted by the limitations of Universal and PG-13, though neither is it at risk of going too overboard with the Nc-17 rating. Whether you’re the more reserved kind or the more flamboyant,...

Alphas Review, Season 2, Episode 3, “Alpha Dogs”
Written by Nick Copus
Directed by Eric Tuchman
Airs Mondays at 10pm (Et) on SyFy
One of the consistent surprises about Alphas is the way it wades into conventional plots but sidesteps a predictable outcome. This week, SyFy’s promos had teased a Fight Club-like underground fighting ring that looked very similar to other shows. The first-season Sanctuary episode “Warriors” also showed individuals with extraordinary abilities battling in front of roaring crowds. The surprise with “Alpha Dogs” is that it doesn’t spend that much time in the arena. Bill gets his chance to battle some tough foes, but it plays out much differently than the anticipated formula. The fights are just one part of an episode that delves into Stanton Parrish’s background, brings a new living situation for Gary, and adds a possible love interest for Rachel. It’s an engaging...

He's not even real.
Ted's a stuffed bear, full of worldly wisdom and profanity in equal measure, sent to this world to keep his childhood friend/owner John Bennett (Mark Wahlberg) off the straight and narrow deep into adult life, much to the consternation of John's grown-up love Lori (Mila Kunis).
Ted can always find a friend
But this filthy-mouthed furry friend, busy with a bong, a harem of sociable gals and a whole load of bubble bath, created and voiced by Family Guy's Seth MacFarlane, has got them flocking - to the tune of £9.32 million for the first week in cinemas.
Much to the relief of Universal Studios after the never-to-be-mentioned Battleship, Ted has brought them their second biggest-ever box office haul (behind only Bridget Jones Diary £10.43m), and the most successful opening in five years - ahead of Mamma Mia (£6.59m).

It's all laughs for Universal Pictures after its new comedy Ted claimed the studio's biggest UK cinema debut since 2007.
Ted took £9.32 million on its opening weekend, beating the £6.59 millon previous record set by Universal's Abba-themed musical movie Mamma Mia!
It was also the second greatest Universal opening of all time in the UK, below only Bridget Jones 2 (£10.43 million) and the fifth largest all-time comedy opening alongside The Inbetweeners (£13.22m), Bridget Jones 2 (£10.43m), The Hangover 2 (£10.4m) and Hancock (£9.58m).
The 15-rated comedy is the big-screen directing debut of Seth MacFarlane - creator of hit animated shows Family Guy, American Dad and The Cleveland Show - and stars Mark Wahlberg as a man whose lifelong companion is a foul-mouthed, beer-swilling, pot-smoking teddy bear.
The story tells how John Bennett's teddy bear, Ted, came to life as the result of a childhood wish and has refused to leave his side ever since.

Even lightning-fast sprinting star Usain Bolt has to slow down from time to time - especially when he needs a comfort break.
He is pictured appearing to relieve himself in front of the poster for Universal's new comedy Ted, in which Mark Wahlberg plays a man whose lifelong friend is a foul-mouthed teddy bear. For more about the film, see the clips and official details below.
Bolt has been training with the Jamaican Olympic squad at the University of Birmingham.
But he found time in his busy training schedule to attend a preview screening of Ted - which opens in the UK on August 1 - and then strike a cheeky publicity pose in front of the poster that shows Wahlberg and his furry companion stood at urinals.

The 'evil genius' behind filthily comic cartoon Family Guy is not only turning his hand to an action film Ted, albeit starring a bear, but singing swing at this summer's BBC Proms in London
There are two wildly contrasting cultural dates in the diary this coming month that seem unlikely to attract the same crowd. One is the British release on Wednesday of a bawdy American comedy about a foul-mouthed soft toy called Ted and the other is a BBC Prom celebrating the swingin' music of the golden era of Hollywood and Broadway songwriting. And yet the star of these mismatched entertainments is one and the same man: Seth MacFarlane.
MacFarlane, who will sing at the Albert Hall on 27 August before keeping a second date at Ronnie Scott's, is to fly into London from his Beverly Hills home shortly after Ted, his directorial debut, opens in cinemas. His first solo album,...

As children we all had that one toy that we were inseparable from. Whether it was an action figure or a doll, many of us spent our childhoods creating imaginary worlds and make-believe scenarios for our favourite toys to inhabit. But ultimately it was in our mind that these interactions began and subsequently ended.
In his directorial debut, Family Guy creator Seth Macfarlane has taken this premise one step further by introducing a teddy bear that actually comes to life thanks to a childhood wish made by its owner John Bennett. After receiving the ultimate gift, John forms an inseparable bond with Ted. However, as adults their friendship is put to the test as the inevitable task of ‘growing up’ threatens their laid-back lifestyles.
Refreshingly, it is this ‘real’ approach to Ted’s character that is the film’s greatest strength. The living toy is initially greeted with horror from John’s parents,...

This is great news. If you watched Syfy‘s Alphas during its inaugural season last summer, you likely enjoyed the treat that was Summer Glau in a terrific part, as an Alpha whose ability was to construct incredibly complex pieces of technology. It was a geeky part, and she played it with absolute style and grace.
Happily, Syfy has announced that she’ll be reprising that part for three episodes in the second season of the show, which premieres on Monday, July 23 at 10/9c. (Don’t worry, Lost Girl fans, your show is not going away, it’s just moving down the block to Fridays.)
Joining the lovely and talented Ms. Glau are a hobbit, a former NCIS director, and a lieutenant with the colonial forces, amongst others. Check out this great lineup:

This featurette gives us a great look into how MacFarlane took on the role and the technology which let him become the walking, talking teddy-bear. He does all this while still directing the movie! The man is a genius and we love him!
