Discovery Channel is entering the dating game with series orders for three shows that blend romance with nature, entertainment and adventure, including “Naked and Afraid of Love,” “Mating Season” and “Mountain Love,” TheWrap has learned exclusively.
The trio of series will be available across Discovery, Inc. platforms later this year.
Here’s the official description for “Naked and Afraid of Love”:
Today, dating has become filtered – through the clothes we wear, jobs we have, and lives we share on social media. But what if it was all stripped away — the filters, dating apps and curated personas — leaving room for only our most primal wants and needs, and exposing who we really are in the process? Would we forge stronger connections? Discovery seeks to answer these questions and more in “Naked and Afraid of Love,” a groundbreaking take on modern dating that is the ultimate blend of survival and romance unlike anything viewers have seen.

The price of gold is at an all-time high — $500 more per ounce than it was last year — and so is the risk on “Gold Rush” spinoff “White Water.”
Discovery Channel has renewed “Gold Rush: White Water” for a fourth season, TheWrap has learned, and is also bringing back after-show “The Dirt” hosted by Christo Doyle.
Both return on Friday, Nov. 13. Yes, Friday the 13th. Pretty ominous considering the crazy risks these crazy gold miners take.
TheWrap can also first reveal the trailer for “Gold Rush: White Water” Season 4. Get your first look at the insanity via the video above — possibly between your fingers.
Below is the Discovery Channel’s description for Season 4:
Fred Hurt has mined in Alaska for 17 seasons and even worked Porcupine Creek several years before the Hoffman crew and “Gold Rush” cameras ever turned up. He is a straight shooting, self-taught gold miner who has worked and fought with his son,...

And we thought the Mega Millions could make you rich. On Season 4 of Discovery Channel’s “Treasure Quest,” the gang is going after the ancient fortune of the Jesuits, which is reputedly worth $2 billion.
The Bolivian quest is quite dangerous, and many have died seeking the Sacambaya Treasure. In the fourth season’s first episode, the team of fortune finders must drive up Yungas Road, which is known as “Death Road” due to its narrow and steep drop-off.
As you can see in the above sneak peek video, which is exclusive to TheWrap, the winding roadway’s name fits.
